Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor

He certainly can! Can can

should

wouldn't he?

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

We've started to fight for the top number of posting with quanity instead of quality, right?

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

All messages are quality. It's simply in the mind of the beholder.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

I am totally speechless..... (this is rather unusual)

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

So today I had to dig out and fill in a tunnel (quite a nice one too) for the second time that one of the local chipmunks dug right under one of my roses. He must be new, all the rest of them know not to dig in my garden. This time he got the hot pepper and chicken wire treatment. I hope he has scouted out a new locale to have his abode. So far so good. :)

Central, ME(Zone 5a)

I think we have a problem here, ngam. I understood what you just said. ;-)

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

I know its a little off topic but I had to dump it in somewhere and this seemed like the most appropriate place.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, this is a good place to dump stuff.

Central, ME(Zone 5a)

So how do you know it's a local chipmunk?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The accent.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

You have a point there, maybe he is from out of town. That would explain his error. Could have come in on a truck or hitched in on a bus, I don't think they work much so I'm sure he has little or no funds to pay for transportation. Could be from NY or up north maybe. I will have to listen to find out which accent he has. A trouble maker at any rate so I hope he is just passing through. Maybe I should give him bus fare, what do you think?

Central, ME(Zone 5a)

Interesting... I am currently having a problem with the ones from away...

Central, ME(Zone 5a)

Not to digress, but I read a story about a "mystery object" found in a garden in Wales and wondered if anyone here has had a similar experience?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Never been to Wales.

Central, ME(Zone 5a)

But I've been to Oklahoma

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I find mystery objects in my garden all the time. The gnomes bring them.

Victor, you made Kassia speechless. Kass, I agree with Victor. You do have boundless enthusiasm and I love it!

Sofonisba - The trolls proctet you from the gnomes.

Trolls don't live under bridges.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Remember corduroy wales? And the sound it made?

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I think whales are more into velvet these days.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I think cord wales are endangered, aren't they? They should be.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

There's a chill in the air today. Anyone else feel it?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

If you're referring to the weather (this is the Alice in Wonderland / stream of consciousness thread after all), absolutely yes - it was gorgeous today. Got up to about 81 or so. Low humidity. Nice breeze. My kind of weather. How was it there? I'm thinking we should have a continuous thread where everyday we all post our local weather conditions. Our forum covers such a wide area, especially with the honorary Northeasters.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

What?
Purple smells like grapes.
3 billy goats gruff and a troll under the bridge.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

S & G's A Simple desultory Phillipic. It was a take -off on Bob Dylan. On the Parsley, sage, Rosemary & Thyme album. I think I was in Junior High and that was when I learned the word.
Unlike scatological which I thought came from scattered (like to scat in jazz music?). I forgot all about the mouse droppings.
Funny thing is, I googled scatttolological humor to check the spelling before I started the thread. As luck would have it, dozens of people and sites misspelled it exactly like I did.

Westbrook, CT(Zone 6a)

There seems to be quite a large fandom
For reminiscences random.
For topics chaotic
Are really exotic....
Too much for this brief memorandum.

I Googled - desultory humor and some website was on top. Just did it again and we popped up on the top!

Next - - - YouTube!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That's scary. People looking for answers and finding us!! Nice poem Don. However, that shows real and organized thought - not allowed on this thread!

No Lymrick for me.......

There once was a lady named schicken, who could take a rough licking.
Got hit in the head and thought she was dead and heart stopped ticking.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm stomping cheerios into the carpet today, although not by choice!

PS. I loved the poem, Don ... and to think we showed up as #1 in Google is amazing!!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Don, I always enjoy your poems and I'm glad you put one here, even if it is real and organized!

Schick - I like my gnomes. I don't want a troll. However, I've got one. He lives in my basement, under the steps (might as well be a bridge). I kicked DH down there until he gets his sleep apnea taken care of. Would you believe he's been down there for 3 years? Stubborn man. I think he's grown to like it down there. It's cooler.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Don, really good one!

I hate it when I google something and come up with one of my own postings. it's frustrating. on general principles and just because I'm a stubborn nerd, I don't like to google.

Dave, we're now up to 3 t's in scatttelogical (or scattolological LOL). maybe if we try 4 it will make more sense? or maybe we should limit this thread to words with 9 letters or less.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I'm stomping Dexter into the carpet and he likes cheerios. That doesn't mean much, he'd like dead crickets in the carpet too. He's a Lab :)

Ah yes! I had a black lab just like him when I was younger. His name was "PJ", for his longer name of 'Phydeaux Jones'. I have no idea where that name came from!!

"PJ" loved everything and everyone.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

This thread is being so ignored.

Off with her head!!!

Ffld County, CT(Zone 6b)

Hmm, I came to this thread expecting poop jokes...

I'm really confused, but it's okay because I'm laughing too hard to care... especially at Al's neighbor. For some reason that photo (and the fact that Al actually TOOK a photo of him) stuck me as hilariously funny! So I got my laugh for the day so this thread is good... even if confusing.

:)

A garbage-cam would have been much more effective though.

(Zone 4a)

Hmmm I do have to say I am quite confused and scratching my head...I guess this threat is not suppose to make sense? I am actually the brunette that should be blonde (sorry blondes). My roots must be blonde...LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

'Confused? You should be.' Remember the great show, 'Soap'?
