I'm trying to test Victor's theory. He pondered whether, if we had a thread for being random, we could stay on track.
This may be our shortest thread ever.
(anyone else remember the Simon and Garfunkel song that taught me the word desultory?)
Scattelogical ramblings and desultory humor
Dave, you don't know scat!! (You spelled it wrong - hee hee.)
Hey! You're off topic!
Hey the new format just went into effect!
I once asked a useless PhD (redundant?) at Columbia if he minored in Scatology. He didn't even get it!
My mouse is white. Think it's from a lab?
Only on Tuesday.
Victor, Your word = the study of feces. My word is based on scattered (and spelled correctly, i think)
My mouse uses the lav.
Okay, in that case, I've never heard of your word.
No wonder why you were off topic!
Just quickly checked two online dictionaries and could not find it.
Today's Monday Victor and the mouse is still here. Mine never goes to the lav, Dave. It expells its batteries occasionally. Quite the messmaker.
Get a cat.
That's a sore subject. DH says no!
Wait, am I being random enough?
Luke, I AM your father....
No! It's not true!!
Victor, I stand corrected.

Can anyone smell colors??
colors don't smell to me. Letters and numbers have colors though. Seven is always green. You?
I'm confused. Is that on or off topic?
I think I'm confused too YC...
Dave, explain the meaning of this thread again please?
Actually I suggested to da Dave that he put in a feature where we could mark posts within threads as on topic or "fluff" and then allow for "folding" the thread to hide the "fluff".
Then we would have to decide of degree of fluffiness and that can get hairy, as any cat person knows!
If you're not confused on this thread, than you're off-topic.
Seven is yellow to me. And blue smells like a newborn baby.
Forgot to mention Cat, that your idea would result in short threads, not to mention the muzzling of all this creativity.
No, no - it would all be there if you expanded the thread. Nothing would be lost - it could just be folded to reveal only the postings on topic.
Fluff is how we learn about each other, as opposed to about each other's gardens!! Gardening to me is about gardeners as much, or more than, it's about gardening. I can get gardening ideas from a book, or a tv show or a website. I can't see Celeste's DH's healing heal or Kassia's boundless enthusiasm or the endless kindness of our members that we all love, in any of those places. (This is where the inspirational backgound music plays.)

No I understood Cat - just making the case for the fluff!
I agree that fluff is valid stuff. Just was trying to make everyone happy - the fluffers and the seekers of concise truth.
I seek concise fluff stuff. and I think I just found it.
Dave, what was the S&G song?
Okay you guys have got my brain fluffed pretty good. Does that mean I'm on topic? :) I think fluff is good unless it's blue or red and then it smells. Is that right?
Yes - but only on odd days. (As if we have any other type here!)
smells odd to me!
Even odd is accepted here.
Ewww!!! Groaners are people too. Victor I must say you have an extended sense of humor. No fluff required, its all good! :) Even if the fluff is odd or is it odd if the fluff is even? Are we still on topic?
Topic???????
I used to do that and my driveway is about 80 feet long!
I just packed away my violin, Victor.
Why can't Dave make up words if he wants to?
