Really strange weather here right now....at the top of our meadow it's bright and sunny...at the same time it is POURING!!!! cats and dogs just a matter of a few feet away here over the house..... What the heck??!!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

All these wonderful pics from everyone. Daylilies, zinnias, butterflies ...all gorgeous.

Here is a little toad that found a spot to rest and try to hide from the many passing showers today. Hope you can see him, it was thundering again and I was hurried.

Great shot!!

Awe, how cute! We got some good thunder showers here too...played havoc with my corn!

Well our 2nd batch of robins have left the nest, I watched as Momma shoved them out of the nest. Then she flew to the apple tree, perched on a branch and called them. All of them but one hopped thru the fence and run-fly-run all the way there. The last little fellow wasn't very good at flying and didn't have much confidence it seemed. He ran behind my vinca and spiderwort and hid for an hour. DS Josh, carefully went out and got this shot of him.

Celeste, you might want to start #10!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

well Victor it seems tamberlin started one on Aug. 8th and I just found it. She never posted here to let us know , so it went un-noticed until now. Here's the link and we can pick up over there.

I do work Mondays and Fridays, and then take the grandkids to karate.

Pixie, I'm so sorry, I don't have a clue. There are so many nice pink orientals. The one at 12:47 looks like Mona Lisa, but it looks like it might be too big for that. Do you remember where you purchased them? How irritating when they are misnamed.

Sorry I can't be more help on these, maybe post a pic over on the lilies forum.

They sure are beauties.

Here's one more from the other night. Sedum 'Blackjack'.

I got that one this past spring, planted it and never thought to look at it again. It's been one very busy summer.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thanks Polly, I appreciate you looking!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

I have this one too. It flopped all over the place last year so this year I pinched it back once or twice early. Seems to be much better behaved this year but the buds are just starting to set on it now. Do you pinch yours back?

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

You're welcome Pixie. I wish I could have helped, but since Orientals don't do that well here for me, I'm not really up on them. They're quite short lived here. So I go for the Orienpets, and Trumpets.

Now--- if my Orientals looked like yours, I would sure be addicted. In fact if all my plants looked as good as yours....

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thank you Polly, but the truth be known....I only show you the ones that look good! LOL

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

That's cheating, much worse than posting photos of other people's flowers ;)

Dunno - they are naked lilies that's for sure.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I did my Naked Lady joke last week on another thread.

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Celeste,
Do you grow those here in Maine?
I had planted some and they never came up :(
Not sure if it's because of our weather that year or just because I did something wrong or planted them someplace they didn't like?
They sure are pretty :)

A light bulb just went off, Al.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

He didn't invent the dahlia though! Not sure why he sold out to selling them?

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Aspenbooboo, I loved that garden shot with the bird. Very pretty.
See you on #10

Al - sure Thomas Edison sounds familiar. Everyone has heard of him!! As far as that being the name of my dahlia - not a clue. My memory is completely gone!! Eleanor

ps - I even forgot that we were posting on #10 instead of #9!! Maybe my memory is not completely gone, I have heard of Thomas Edison!! LOL

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)
