'Final Touch'.
What's Blooming Today? #7
Al and Victor your pics are all so pretty. You both must have wonderful gardens.
Victor could your earlier plant be some kind of monarda punctata? I have never seen one that color though. Be sure to let us know when you find out. It is very pretty what ever it is.
Thanks. Guess I'll have to post it on the ID forum.
wow great shots today everyone!
ngam, what is gentian? Is it annual or a perennial? How tall?
I really love that color!
Al, Coral Reef is lovely and very unique looking im also really drawn to the center of Chelsey helenium. Very eye catching!
Victor....you been waiting to post for over a week haven't you? Well they were worth waiting for. You have some lovely W.B's and HB.
I have Egyptian Spice but have been eyeing Final Touch for a year now. How does it perform anyways? Are you happy with it? I find that I am drawn to bi-tones, bi-colors and eyes.
Victor, I just love that 'Final Touch' daylily- gorgeous! Pirl, I have major daylily envy with you- I have a relatively small yard, and 99% of it is shade. The one thing I would wish for more sun for it so that I could plant more daylilies. Our yard used to be entirely weeds, that we inherited from the former owners. We lived with it as is for years, and every July I would find one or two red daylilies poking up thru the mountain of weeds and brush. When I finally took an interest in gardening, I sort of felt I owed it to those "survivor" daylilies to keep em around, lol. They are nameless and probably undesirable, put I think they are cheery as they are really put out a lot of blooms. I know I should replace them with something nicer, but I guess at this point they have sentimental value.
Here are my no name daylilies
Yes, Celeste, I like Final Touch a lot. Blooms a long time too. Yes, I am attracted to eyes as well - Daylilies' and women's!
South Seas is gorgeous.
Noreaster, South Seas is beautiful, but I like your 'no-names', too. I wouldn't pull them out, either.
ngam, love your gentian. I tried to start some from seed this year...no luck. the color is wonderful!
Pix, the wood sorrel didn't come up for me. I'm so disappointed because they are so pretty. not sure what I did wrong.
not from my garden...Nancy (nap) and I went to Ontario (Canada) today to the Butterfly Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. this was in the gardens. it looks almost triple.
btw, it was an absolute pleasure to meet her and spend the day together. we had a marvelous time.

Victor - The hanging basket s look nice!
South Sea looks good Noreaster.
Jan - Sounds like a good time - even if you had to be with Nancy ;)~
More great lily pics-wonderful Noreaster.
Victor, luv the window boxes and basket. Can't go wrong with gorgeous coleus.
Pix, the fancy name is gentiana septemfida 'Dark Blue' and it is a perennial, needs water at least once a week when there is a dry stretch, hardy z 3-9, gets about a foot tall-10" wide, sun to part sun. When it blooms you can't miss it in the garden, it is electric blue.
Very pretty Kim..I love anything blue!
Gram, don't worry.....the wood sorrel didn't come up for me the first year.....and the second I plucked it thinking it was wild shamrock! So don't give up yet.
Noreaster, South Sea's opened here this morning too. It's hard to capture the purple hue in it isn't it?
ngam...thanks for the info....you can tell that it's an eye catcher from the photo.
Kim yes it is a perennial. See pryor post up two spots for more info. Glad you liked it. Your DL is really beautful, what great colors.
I have a bad case of 'garden envy' this morning, looking at all these great photos. It has been a week or so since anything has bloomed here for us. But, the asiatics are almost ready to open, and I'm eagerly anticipating the second blooming of my 'pistachio' clematis.
ngam,
Will it make seeds this fall for you? If so, maybe we could trade for something :)
I'm going to winter sow again this year (didn't do it last year) and would like to add a couple new things.
If it doesn't or you don't have enough to share, I completely understand :)
