"Leda's Lover" is actually more yellow but it has this peachy-pink overlay to it. I took the picture at an angle so you could see it.

Kim. I have never found any babies, so it doesn't self seed readily, to tell you the truth don't know if it sets seeds or not, I will keep an eye out for you. If I can get some I will send some out to you.

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Thank you so much :)
If I have anything you'd like, just let me know too OK?

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Kim I was looking at it and it doesn't look like a plant that is divided easily, I pinned down a stem to see if it will layer into a new plant. If no seeds come then maybe a plant will come to send this fall or next spring. You will have to remind me cause ya know the memory is the first to go. :)

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh Thank you so much!
I researched it also and it does say it makes seedpods.
At first the directions for getting seeds to germinate sounded very hard and confusing but I looked it up at the winter sowing site too and it looks like it's a good cadidate for WS :)

Quoting:
Noreaster, South Sea's opened here this morning too. It's hard to capture the purple hue in it isn't it?

I will have to pay more attention, because I don't think I've noticed a purple hue with mine...mine are just sort of a hot salmon color. It is frustrating how certain colors just don't photograph well. I have a hydrangea that is a really deep purple blue, but the purple seems to drop out in pics.

Al, I really like that photo of Chelsey helenium- very striking.

I had four nice blooms today on Pink Damask.

nice shots pixie & noreaster.... just wanted to give you my two cents pixie... my "hardy" galds did not return ... I tried two different ones ... no luck

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Pixie - I liked some of the dl's, but I'm not saying which ones.LOL Canadian Border Patrol has to be one of your noids?
Those Bach Buttons are blue that's for sure.

Looks good Noreaster - I don't have a lot of dl's so 2 or 3 on plant is pretty good for me.

I had did a seeding project with my son's Cub Scout troop. Here is his Teddy Bear sunflowers. They really did stay short.

Al, if I walk out and see three or four blooms on any of my named daylilies, I do a happy dance- usually it's only one or two. I had expected them to multiply them more this year, but most of them didn't.

I like that French Hollyhock, ngam.

Zebrinus is nice.

Another dahlia - Golden Cloud

These are all great shots Al but that pic of the bee, well it just doesn't get better than that. Do you know the cultivar of echinops? Your helenium looks so nice and tidy, a nice big clump. I don't seem to be able to get it through the winter here. Maybe needs more drainage with our thaw -freeze-thaw weather here.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Thanks. That echinops is Ritro.

They are less sharp than they look.
Helenium can take wettness over winter a bit better, not sure what your problem is. Maybe try covering them with boughs to help keep them frozen all winter.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

al love the teddy bear sunflowers... very cool... and that bee covered with pollen ... he looked busy

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

OOOOOOH I got some goodies to share :)

First, ngam... remember I asked you about the gentiana septemfida 'Dark Blue' and you were going to look for seeds? I THINK I may have something that bloomed today (2nd day) and had 3 blooms (many more to come). The name of it is Borage and I read it's a hardy annual setting seed for the following spring. I think it is SO pretty and I started this from seed. I would love the share the seed with you in return if you don't already grow it :)

This is truly the BEST blue I have in my garden thus far (next to Blue Pearl Jacob's Ladder).

Let me know if you are interested :)

Remember the cute little blue/white "bat flower" thing I posted back a while ago? Well.....I have red ones too :)
These seeds came from the Netherlands (AND I grew them from seed....woooo hooooo). If I remember right, they are an annual and I need to collect the seed but these flowers are SO tiny (and SOOOOO cute!)....look like flying nuns :)
I plan to gather seed and then plant a window box with the 2 colors combined.

Here is the red.
