Cool. I've seen these on other sites and really like them! Is it a test or a change, Dave?
New pop ups for thumnails?
The first couple of times that I clicked a thumbnail the screen went dark. Then the photo started coming up. We did lose the text next to the photo but for me that is not a big loss.
Me either, George. I tend to read first anyway. It's very quick and I like having focus on the photo alone.
Kathleen
Yes, I couldn't figure what was going on when the screen went dark, but it really highlights the picture.
Josephine.
I prefer being able to read the text alongside the image, you could see what they were taking about without clicking back and forth that way.
Dove
I love it and I hope it is here to stay, Way to go Dave.
Awesome Dave....I like it, I always read the text first as well.....
My screen stays dark after closing the picture until I click on the screen again.... does yours?
I kinda liked the writing next to the picture...
I LOVE it!! It solves the problem of typing a big reply, then wanting to look at the picture again to refresh my memory, then going back to see that I've lost everything I typed. I've seen quite a few other people having that same issue. Fabulous fix for the problem, Dave! :o) Thanks so much!
Ah, I see said the blind man and he picked up his hammer and saw... If you close the picture via the X the screen lightens back up. Well, this is a horse of a different color! Yeah, I could get use to it. :) I still liked the writing on the side... But I like the idea of being able to type in a long post and then go back and look at a picture and not lose what I just typed in. :)
Thank you!
Wheeeewwwwww! Gone for a couple of days and I thought I had really messed up! Couldnt figure if I had broke the DG or what!!!
Now that I know whats goin on .... I really like it! E.
I'm just playing around and trying out some new ideas... Try clicking on someone's username in this thread.
dave
Wow Dave!!! that is neat!!!
I really liked the text beside the picture. I miss it already. Thought that was an improvement. This is just different.

Whoa, too great! You done good ,Dave!!!!
That's cool, Dave! Please disregard my post in the thread about the friends and groups......I see that you are still working on it. :o)
Dave, like the name click feature and was just getting comfortable with the read along picture viewing. I had learned to find a picture first, then read as the picture got loaded. I'll learn to use any feature you install. This site is always a smiling moment in my day.
;)
I like the thumbnail popup. The info popup from clicking on the username is very cool too. Great improvements!
Love both of the new features! I never did like the text next the photos.
I like the new update, but I was thinking that a rollover image would be even better still. then no clicking, just roll your cursor over the image, it pops up, and when you move the cursor away the image closes. Just an idea. :)
Dave is a purveyor of miracles. yay, yay, yay. I love that the pictures are larger and am able to see more detail. The click on the user name is just down right too much! Sometimes the text took too much room from the picture....can always read it....usually read it first anyway.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Do the people at NameMedia have any idea what a coup they made by bringing you into their circle. Just give me their phone number or email and I will be glad to tell them.
Neat-O! I like it! I like what happens when you click on a user name too. Nice!

Double cool in one day! I love the member pop-up, too!
I like the member pop-up too.
hmmm...In another week the guys from Comcast are coming to set me up with high-speed Internet. I have been living with dial-up since the early days. What I normally do is to Ctrl+Click (Firefox) the thumbnails so that the picture loads in a new tab and I can continue to read the thread. This new solution does not seem to be very dial-up friendly.

How do you link those photos now though?
Love the member info, but I'm still a fan of having the text next to the picture. It's nice to be able to see someone's description of what you're looking at, rather than relying on the memory of what you just read!
The member info is great. I still am having problems enlarging pictures though. Is it dial-up? Ugh, I live in the woods, we do not have many options here.
I swear, I don't ever read this forum, but it seems to be required reading if you want to know what's going on. I thought my computer broke. Pictures are nice, as ever, but I like seeing the text next to the picture. Sorta like a book where you get the caption under the picture and don't have to go back and forth to understand the meaning of the picture. Member info is interesting. Vaguely.
Ok, sorry, it is working. You think I would be able to wait a minute to see what was happening.
Seems ok. I do like the changes.
Tip: click on the "Post#" link to see the thumbnail expanded alongside the text, like before. :)
dave
Now THAT is nice! All the text, and a great big picture to look at. Thanks, Dave!
Well, just when I get used to the writing on the side, it's GONE.
Never did get a picture, just a dark screen.
:(
Susan
=^..^=
Tried the "post #" tip. I like it!
But it makes the lower sized photos look bad. What is the minimum size we should be using when we post now Dave? Also, it takes longer to see the photo. Will that improve? Thanks.
Mary, it worked fine for me! And still think it's a lovely pic of Miss Lily.
ok, that works... best of both
I clicked on the picture above and got a black screen with an error on page message at the bottom. It wouldn't go away until I clicked the back button. I'm on dial up. I also had trouble with pictures in another forum.
