Betty one never knows what will happen or when . your so right in your post back up a ways. I really hurt for the family and friends. may he be at peace now.
down under its so very nice.. you do have talent.
the worse very very tired .
best only have the twins to keep today. next week all week all 5 is worst to come!!
What I learn today every day keep trying , keep the faith, hope..
Best Thing/Worse Thing and What did I learn today? Part 10
5 kids Twyla, OMG you must have a lot of energy..not sure I could take on 5...you must have your days planned ahead so that you can keep them all busy..
DH and I will save the skinny dippin' for the lake next week! LOL No sharks! OUCH!
LOL! Never had sharks attack me ever, Gardengirl...even skinny dipping at night...really, worst case scenario someone might run off with your panties...lol
My DH and I did escape out to the lake after the kids had fallen asleep a couple of years ago and I have to say the thought of something in the water coming up to get me kept me VERY alert! The water was BLACK - of course no moon that night - at least not in the sky that is! LOL
Only if you wear them in the first place, trop.
Uh-oh TMI....Jan
You girls are always good for ones soul...you make me laugh..thank you
Jan, I almost hit send with the post of "Panties? What panties?"
Great minds think alike!
I am so refreshed by the fact that not everyone on DG is uptight and some folks have a sense of humor ;)
Something kinda romantic about skinny dipping under moonlight, though :)
no drolling, but I am slobbering all over the keyboard. WOW that is some house. Amazing?! How long will you be staying there? So so cool. How long does it take to get from california to north carolina anyway?...
tootles!
LOL, Jeannine....... must be that laid back for life attitude we were chatting about over on "How did you choose your name".
Forget the sharks.......You know those schools of little tiny fishies that swim around your legs and feet and nibble, just to see if you are in fact, food? Good thing hubs knows I love him even though even a simple kiss in the water with me almost always involves loud shrieks, random splashing and lots of giggling. They TICKLE!
Good to hear your laughter Betty. You're a real trooper to put up with us some days! Looks like this is one of them. Love you for that.
Have many stories I could tell as well, like when I lost my dentures in Georgian Bay as I was water skiing..now that was a laugh and a week in hibernation (?) but, learnt to slolam ski...lol...no, I like to have a good time just like the rest..enjoy getting in a group of youngster..usually I shock them...hmmm....I can tell a joke worse than they can....keep it up.
Now some little fishy can eat steak...lol

dwerland, we're there a week! I am so glad the realtor called and asked us to move! When I looked back at the house we had (and loved!), I was like, "eh, too small"!
Jan, I KNOW those fish! Like little minnows nibbling all over your legs.
Funny thought - did you ever see the Seinfeld episode called "The Hamptons" when the gang goes to visit friends and George is seen naked and tries to explain away his "shrinkage" problem? That episode was right on! ;)
Betty, I know we use it all the time...but it's a darn good thing I'm alone in the office here. I really did *laugh out loud* long and hard about that one! I can see it all now!
Yep..that's the same little fishies...they really do tickle, don't they! And that episode is a classic....just outright funny from beginning to end. BTW...that house is gorgeous and I know you are just going to have a wonderful and memorable time. I will send good weather thoughts your way for the week. There will be lots of pictures to post, I hope? We will miss you while you're away...or will a laptop be going with you?
I might just take the laptop since they say the house has wi-fi. I can chat w/ my friends!
Cool!
You seem to have forgottten to tell us which week exactly.....?
She's a smart cookie..now that she's given us almost door to door directions, she'll guard the date..lol
Oh, did I? Moi? Tee hee!
So for the record, I will be absent from all the wonderful fun here starting this Saturday thru the following Sat. I may be able to get online once I'm home and settled. This is our trip to Smith Mtn Lake we do evey year. I'm going to try and meet up w/ DG member "Dyson" who lives up there.
Then the last week of August, we head to the Outer Banks for a week before school starts. I may be able to get online that week.
drats! I might have company the last week of August. Just my luck. :)) and the MAGTAG (Tomato tasting) is in Baltimore on the 25th, can't miss that!
Wow. TWO vacations. Okay. Now I'm jealous.
my goodness what a house! so thats how you all live in the old US of A!
oooeeeeee
best thing... got my brushes...
worst thing? nope. wasnt one.... thats cool....
Wonder, I don't even have to look at the house to tell you that's not how we all live..lol
Best thing: Met a graffiti artist online that has made me an original piece of work. Can't wait to pick it up. Hopefully you art folks can appreciate it (I know it's vandalism, but it's art, too ) for the art, not political, I imagine that stencil was not easy.
Worst thing: still headachy
What I learned: Note to self : TAKE A SLEEPING PILL EVEN IF YOU ARE TIRED! I might fall asleep ok, but I still wake up oherwise!
LOL!!!
Hey wonder...how far did you get on the birdies house? Noticed you were quiet today.
Like the graf. Just because it's against the law, doesn't mean it's not art.
Okay, since I'm always a day behind....for yesterday and besides, today's not over yet, is it?
Best? Half day at work. Full day's pay.
Worst? Nothing bad enough for me to remember today.
Learned? Reminded, actually. Never believe the TV weather people when they say it's going to rain. Which they've BEEN saying, every day now, for two weeks. Apparently, I am a very slow learner.

Evening, thought some days were quiet but today I outdid those, so I'm almost finished knitting the sleeves for the quilted sweater...went shopping on lunch (bought myself a few treats) just because...lol
On the way home I stopped mid point and picked up a bouquet of flowers, stopped by the graveyard and put them on Roger's grave...his mom and sister beat me to it..there was a lovely artificial arrangement on tombstone, done in yellows/oranges with stunning complimentary flowers..I'll have to call tomorrow and thank her...
Wonder, you asked me to post photo's of house..no time tonight but I'll post my bedroom, because that's where I'm heading shortly....
hi tangie... still working on it. Painted a little door for it and put on brass door knob and hinges. going to put a little bronze mirrow in the top and then set the whole thing onto a bas board. once that is done, i will make a picket fence to go around it and a cute little clothes line at the side... found miniature wooden pegs.. they are sooo cute. Just waiting for it to dry.
In the meantime, i painted this!
now i am waiting for it to dry!!! lol I use the hairdryer to help it along some tho.
As for being quiet... my problem is that my day time is your night.. so when you are all on... i am sleeping and visa versa. thats why i miss the chat room all the time! doh!
OMG Laura, you are painting a mile a minute...making up for lost time I'm sure...bet your friend will love the handpainted 'bingo'box..
gasp!!! its gorgeous!!!! i love it... i cant wait to see the rest. its my dream home!
yellow and orange... as you can see, i was just painting in those colours!
its funny you know betty. the night before your parcel arrived, i was lying in bed and thinking, how on earth am i going to find that tool that i did all the dot work with. I dont know where i got it last time, what its called so i dont know what to ask for. And there it was in your parcel! I cant get over how perfect it all is, everything i would have wanted including the transfer paper! amazing...
hahah yes i hope so.
im chasing you tonight....
have a good sleep.
angels keep you in the night.
x
Tropicanna...nice art...very creative...
Best thing...almost done yet another project and the building supply company dropped of my cement and 4 x 4" 's 10' long..now I just have to finish painting the frame and get some muscles and set it in the back yard..
Worse thing...Paul (boss/BIL) called in, he took Sue/Fred to funeral home to see their son...not a good situation..poor Paul is beside himself and hasn't slept more than a few hours since Sunday!!
What did I learn...that I hadn't look close enough the the car after the hail storm the other night..there are quite a few pot marks when you look slightly on an angle..will go into town Friday aft. and will check out what can be done..leave it to me..1st day I have a new car..I damage it..not me, weather did it...oh well, no use crying...lots of things worse than a few pot marks..right..
Well I'm off for my bath..didn't sleep last night so let's hope tonight's a better night...
p.s. we're getting all that rain that is missing you guys..I'll send it your way..
Have a great night, who knows, if I can't sleep I might join you on the theads...lol
Betty, your bedroom is lovely and i am glad you had a good day. i too like country, and your room is charming. I have an old photo much like yours of my mothr when she was about 2 in an old oval frame. will see if I can get a photo of it for you to see. was taken about 1923.
Wonder, great to see your painting....it too is lovely. show us more.
Best...getting the new washer and dryer ...
worst...no worst, it was all good
what I learned......not so hard to come into an empty house anymore, do not dread it like i did a few weeks ago.
Later, my friends.
Glad you are having a good day today Shar...those 2 old photo's are of no one in particular..in fact the one on the right had half of his face taken off through neglect...it was in a scrap at an antique shop..both actually...crazy crazy person that I am, I got very sentimental..started to think, these men probably gave their lives in the war so that I couldhave the freedom I have, because they passed on so very young they had no family, thus the reason for being discarted..so, I adopted them, gave them names and brought the photo to a restorer and had 1/2 of his face put back on, you'd hardly tell...that just tell you how nutzo I am...but they give me comfort...they watch over me...
Betty, beautiful home. Very warm and "homey" looking!
Wonder, I can bet you that people who live in houses like this all year round don't go to the beach (in NC) for vacation. They go to places like.... Australia!! LOL We'll live like that for a week and totally ruin our outlook for next year's house! We'll be so spoiled!!
garden girl,
omg donny osmond i remember posters all over the wall then bobby sherman then greg brady lol the house is a dream house you have a wonderful time you girls made me laugh
glad there's no stuffed shirts here your all the best
betty, oh that was a good one water skiing lol,
your bedroom is very homey i have some old pictures like yours its my granny and my aunt there such conversation peices betty did you paint that border? its quite lovely
wonder, your quite the painter enjoying your work
sharran, nice to see you smiling
best:got to relax and work on a bowling ball it seems to be taking months to complete
worst: my neighbor is at it again lighting off fire works dogs are in a tizzy
learned :one of our customers is suffering from cancer first treatment did not work on her so she's on it again so sad to see her she has dwindled down to bones poor thing just made me sad.
everyone have a good evening liz
well you come on down for as holiday.... come see the koalas so close you could pat them!
there are a herd of kangaroos not 5 minutes walk from me can you believe it? there is a park area nearby and they live there.
thanks for the compliments on my folk art.. im no betty thats for sure but i am enjoying myself.
wouldnt you just love to go to bettys house and see everything and all her art and such?
it would be too cool.
just put the door on the bird house and finishing of the cutlery box. might do the bingo box next. i do a bit here and a bit there in between cooking and cleaning.... you know how it is. hubby works afternoon shift so it gives me a chance to fill in some time.
i went to a craft class with my daughter the other day. she has always wanted me to go but i am always working. seeing as i had the week off i went along with her and started to make a country looking frame.
its a piece of pritned fabric ( mine is autumn tones) and you stick that to a piece of filling (like what you use when quilting). then you get a who lot of buttons all different shapes and sizes but similar colours and sew them into a heart in the middle. then you back it and put i n a frame. its cute and cottage like..... enjoyed myself. when i finsish it i will show you.
tho its darn hard to find old buttons! back in my day the second hand shops always cut them off the old clothes and sold them by the jar... now they just get thrown out! buying them new isnt an option...
hmm will have to hunt around.
Sorry I`ve been off , needed a break from DG for a few days to do some other things on my house that I may soon be unable to do if I go to work again. I may get a job, but I`m nervous about it, pray for me if it is the job for me, that I`ll get it. I`m not ready, I have been off for a year. uhg. nerves.
Dayna so sorry about your grandma, man we just went through this with you, crap, I`m so sorry but she`s happy as a clam, Ha?
You can`t like Donny more than I did Dayna, I`ll fight you for him and win because your grieving. I went to a concert in Cleveland of the Osmonds and the very last concert they ever did as the Osmonds with all the family, before Branson Ms, in Anaheim. My bedroom was purple and my pillow case was Donny and my whole basement play room was Donny posters, I still have about 15 albums too. lol Their family turned out to have a lot of skeletins in the closet ha? I have their autograph with a note from them about a picture I drew them and sent to Vegas, when I heard they were performing there once. lol
Betty I love the room, it is so homey.
betty - glad to see you in a big house for your "reunion" i amn sure you will have a grat time.
its hard to entertain my wife or you ladies with my leg in a semi cast but i'll try anything twice. LOL
best thing - i know i won't hve any more trouble with my leg
worts thing - will have to go back to work on saturday.
haved a great day
Wonder....you have been busy. I love the frames you speak of. They are really quite adorable, but not much fun to dust! (house built in the early 1700's and seems to create it's own little dust storms each night while I sleep) Glad you're finding some time for your creative side. With that houseful you have, it must be hard to find alone time some days.
Herbie, you would be entertaining with two casts....a semi one doesn't slow your wit down one bit. See, I told you Saturday would come round too quickly but you still have all of today and tomorrow. Sometimes, my Sundays seem to be nothing but a prelude to Monday so I know what you're feeling, I think. How is the leg feeling?
Betty, you're BR is just perfect. Hope you slept well last night.
Time to regroup and toddle off to work......have a good day everyone...except wonder....whom I hope is enjoying the evening. ttyl. Jan
