I don't have any Helenium (though I take selenium). Are they the ones that bloom from now through Fall, Al? Which one(s) would you recommend.
What's blooming today? #5
old business - this is the second year for Twilight. I got it as a puny plant from Wayside last year and it didn't flower.
I thought that you were taking ginko biloba for your memory you kept losing the bottle.
Yes the helenium will bloom in to fall, there are a few early ones. Yellow, red, orangish blends and range of heights from 2-6'.
I really like Chelsey and Ruby Tuesday. I do have a few new red ones this year, this is one - Rubinswerg
Actually I've been taking Ginkgo Balboa and I just keep saying 'yo' all the time. What color are Chelsey and Ruby Tuesday? That red one is not for me.
here is that site again, although there is not a great variety around at any given time

You won't like this Dreamlands Red zinnia either, but it is scrumptious
Yummy! Your right Al...it's scrumptious!! I really like Rubinswerg, it's different....like me! LOL
Thanks for the link Al. You're right - that Zinnia is not my cup of tea.
I don't like red red. I like certain shades of maroon, wine, etc. Yet I do like red foliage - go figure!! Love the red and oranges of Fall.
Hello NGAM and I love your Sunset Pride. I'm betwixt and between the NE and mid atlantic geographically, but I have to fess up the NE forum is very, very entertaining.
Anita, I live so close to the beach in NJ yet I'm still jealous of your OBX trip lol Have a great time !!!
That's gonna be so much fun Anita!
Sheesh, I'm gone a couple o' days and we need a new thread already. First, my camera broke - the whole lens popped off. I got a new one already. Then I left my laptop at a friends house over the weekend, then I caught a nasty stomach virus that I'm still battling, mostly winning now.
I'll post pics soon!
Harper
Anita - have a great time! Harper - feel better. I'm going through computer problems myself. I think my notebook is about to crap out. Keeps shutting down suddenly. It seems to have started when I installed the new Firefox 2 so I'm hoping it's just that. Using a different browser now.
love the cosmos al.....
anita what hotel is that?.... we WERE supposed to go there this past june and my niece called off her wedding last min. so we decided to stay home and just go to Atlantic city instead.... not really sure if it was cheaper ... but still fun
Wonderful blooms everyone. I just love looking at all of them and wishing they were in my garden!! Have a great trip Anita. My son-in-law (Colin's father) is having a cornea transplant this morning. Just the right eye this time and after it is healed the other one will be done. He is considered legally blind and we're hoping this will improve his eyesight. Here he is with Colin on the morning of his first birthday. Anson just got through with the graveyard shift at work and came over to wish him a happy birthday before going home to bed. Eleanor
Anita, have a great time and take lots of pictures!!
Happy Birthday Colin!!!!!!
I started a new thread for our dial-up buddies....please join me here!

Eleanor - Happy Birthday to Colin and best of luck to Anson. Thoughts and prayers for him.
Welcome ngam! Nice pictures.
Anita, have a great time. Do you come back talking like a Joisey girl?
Eleanor, good luck to the big guy and happy birthday to the little guy.
Have a great time Anita!
Oh thank-you Dave. I have been browsing around a bit and from what I have seen you all have wonderful gardens.
my mexican shell flowers finally popped some blooms today... but the heavy rain beat them up... no pictures
:(
Bummer.
Oh, onewish1 - I would be so upset. You wait all season - and then the flowers get beat up. Will you get more flowers?
Onewish1 - I am pretty sure that is an orange cosmos
thanks you are the third person to say that answer..... sounds good to me
Certainly one of the sulfureus ones - like Cosmic Orange or something, I can't quite call that a wildflower - the bipinnatus ones would be for Mexico.LOL
it was either a wild flower or butterfly mix
Maybe a butterfly mix . . . butterflies should really go for cosmos, nice easy landing for them.
