well it helps to load a photo...not enough coffee this morning!!
What's blooming today? #5
Looks great Celeste. Chuck, better change your cologne!! Dave, please get some Ambien. What's with all the 3 AM posting lately??
pixie - I love "Lady Eleanor" and thanks for posting it. where did you get it? I have been very busy with Colin but I have been around. I check What's Blooming almost every day even if I don't have time to post a message or pic. All of the daylilies and other flowers have been beautiful. I have also been busy in my new garden. I wasn't going to plant much in it this year but couldn't stand to see it without color and every time I go to the nursery I come home with plants, plants, and more plants. Here is a daylily I just planted - Lavender Vista.
"Lady Eleanor" was a gift from a daylily seller, I've had it 2 yrs. and each year she get's better!
You picked 2 lovely daylilies to put in your garden....I hear "Ice Carnival" is a good bloomer.
Onewish.....thats a beautiful picture!! The butterfly stands out on that color!!
Onewish - you are so lucky! I have garden phlox planted all over the place - but only one seems to even have flower buds!
Nice Al. Is this your first year with Twilight? It's my second and I like it a lot.
I got up the nerve to do some snipping. My first home grown bouquet this year. I was at Rarefind Nursery Saturday and couldn't resist picking up a Twilight and 3 Coconut Lime echinaceas. Also a couple of DLs, a very very dwarf Crape Myrtle and a JM. I could see the NE forum influence in my shopping spree.
very pretty venu
Thanks onewish. What is your wonder egg?
easter egg plant is the real name... inedible eggplants... but looks like chicken eggs

Nice one and venu - Jersey night! Venu - which dwarf Crape? Pocomoke? Chickasaw?
Victor, It's Violet Filli. Only supposed to get 1 foot high, but the nurseryman said the spread is more than a foot.
Thanks - never heard of that one. I guess it's purple. I have many Pocomokes. Like them - deep pink. I love Crapes in general.
Onewish you have some lovely lilies and I really like that phlox alot!
Venu thats a beautiful bouquet! I love glads and can't wait for mine to start blooming. Sounds like you had a nice shopping spree!!
I haven't been posting very much lately but I have been working. The collage shows the progress on my new garden. I started digging out orange daylilies (DH also helped with the digging) in April and May and then added compost and topsoil. I wasn't going to plant anything this year, but it looked so barren and I also wanted to get some roots growing to help hold the soil from washing over the bank. I still have a lot more to do. The biggest challenge is planning for "what will be in bloom when" and color combinations. Eleanor
This is my first Crape. It has a ton of buds. I'll get a pic for you when they open.
Looks fantastic Grammy!
Eleanor..thats really an amazing transformation! I Love it..You must be very proud and you certainly have a right to be!!

Nice job Eleanor.Onewish great pictures.
very nice Eleanor
Great job Eleanor!
Eleanor, your new garden looks great.
My petunias that were supposed to be red easy wave, just bloomed but turned out to be a full size pink one, that was a surprise.
Eleanor.....WOW...Your design has opened up the area giving it structure and tons of atmosphere. So inviting. Very nice.
Thanks everyone!! I have been enjoying the work and the results. My neighbors grandchildren who live on the other side of her have enjoyed it also. They love to walk on the stepping stones and the bridge. The bridge is over a fake dried up stream bed which I have planted with a few sedums among the stones. Eleanor
Al, I meant to tell you I love that cosmo and bee picture.
Victor, you asked about mauve/rose colored DL's. I have some but only one is coming to mind that i want to show you. I have had it about 3-4 years and it has been an amazing performer. Last year it gave me 75 blooms off one clump. Here is a photo taken this morning of most of the buds it has now. I couldn't fit them all into the picture unless I set the camera on landscape. But then I would loose the detail of how many there are.
It's called "Rocky's Eye" and I have had a hard time capturing the true beauty of it.
