Here's a daylily that came with the house. It first bloomed on Saturday, about five hours before the torrential rains knocked the blooms of it. So I had to wait until this morning to get a photo of the second blooms. Does anyone know its name?

Thanks, Celeste. I'll follow that link.

Hmmm .... it could be, but the color on the three darker petals is more of a brown / magenta color than the orange I see in those photos.

Daylily 'Moon Of Xanadu' never completly opens for me here in Maine. I may need to find it a good home.....it's a strong healthy plant w/good scapes.

Your Asiatics are beautiful. Ours are just coming into bud now. I can't wait to see what ours have to offer - now that we are REALLY looking at the plants this year. (LOL)

BTW - I think the daylily is 'Magic Dawn'. I looked in the Plant Files, and that one looks the closest to the one that's blooming in our garden.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Your right.."Magic Dawn" looks just like it. Glad you could I.D. it!

I'm glad too! Things always seem to go better when you know what you are dealing with, don't you agree?

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Nice! Thanks.

Alright alright! What's the difference between that one and Strawberry Candy?

It's much more macho sounding. Mucho macho.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Al...do you really need to ask? Just look at the pictures and we can play "What's different?".

Thanks for the nice welcome everyone. I am still finding my way around the forum but looks very nice so far.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Strawberry is much more orange and cream. Rocky is rosy pink, as any macho DL would insist on being.

ngam, it's the best forum on DG. As a big Honeymooners fan, I love your town name!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

LOL Victor, long as I don't get sent to the moon! Here is another new DL in my garden this year, 'Sunset Pride'. It is from the lily farm in Rehoboth which is the next town over.

OK - that one is more rosy, but I could get by with one of them - if I had either.LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Very pretty, ngam. Al - only one of each though, right?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

......but of course.

Welcome ngam.
