I'm lovin' the blooms!!! What is that dive bombing on the coreopsis? I would love a pond - eventually. You folks inspired me with your daylilies that I ordered a whole bunch from Oakes Daylilies. They just arrived today - I'll plant them out this weekend.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I love Oakes. You can certainly find cheaper, but not better quality and not better service. And it's always nice to get a freebie!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Hey! I'm back with pics

This lily has a metallic look to it.

All of you were certainly busy posting pics last night!! I was deadheading and trying to clean up my flowers from recent rains and storms until dark last night. They are all beautiful as usual. Such awesome blooms. I'm waiting for my black-eyed susans, plox, monardia, and butterfly bushes to bloom. They have lots of buds and I can't wait to get some more color in my garden!! Eleanor
p.s. Venu (I think it was you) - at the end of the last thread I had asked you what software you used for your new garden design. That would help me my new garden as I am having trouble placing plants. It also looks like fun to play with!! LOL Eleanor

Kim, these are the one's I have. I got a few bulbs about 4-5 years ago and they have come back each year.

Tamberlin ~ Wells, Maine is about 1.5 - 2 hours away for me, thats Southern Maine...I live in Central Maine. Kim is actually closer than I am!

Dave...you peach lily is "Desert Song" if I had to guess. The yellow single..."Gran Cru" and the last one thats pink..."Camelot"?? And the white one looks like 'Endless Love" All of them are very pretty!!

Anita, Oakes is great place to buy lilies, they charge a little more than most places but you get a "clump" not a fan or two. So tell.....what did you order????

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Onewish - I like the hummingbird pic and the zinnas.

Anita - Nice subtle color there - did you get that other shot from my satellite?

Dave - That pink lily is really nice. I fixed your bad pineapple one for you.

Anita, I didn't know you had an aerial part to your garden!! Nice shot. Oakes is wonderful. Fairweather also has some real nice ones that you don't see elsewhere. Their nursery is next door to famous DL breeder Daryl Apps so they get to sell some of his best exclusively.

Celeste, a LONG time ago I tried the Oxalis adenophylla outside before I became as educated as I am today *lol* and it died (surprisingly *lol*) It was VERY cute but hard to overwinter here in Maine. Fussy buggers from what I have read about them.

Kim, we put some Oxallis that we found 25 in a bag. Had no idea what it was. Planted it in front (sunny) and in back (part sunny). The back one are grow like crazy, spreading and getting really big. The front ones are doing ok, but aren't as large. Hope they make it throught the winter.

Pansies and impatiens. So - now what happens? The pansies continue to bloom - the impatiens continue to grow - at what point are the pansies going to stop?

I mean - if I keep deadheading the panies, will they continue to bloom? They are getting a little leggy - but everything is planted so close together it's hard to tell. If I just cut the pansies back, will they rebloom in the fall? are pansies perennial?

Some have suggested that I start pansy seeds now and plant for a fall bloom - but that assumes that the current pansies will die over the summer. I am confused. Meanwhile, the impatiens are getting bigger everyday and the contrast between the pastel pansies and the neol impatiens is . . . well, unintentional.
