The Best Thing/Worse Thing and What did I learn Today..Pt 9

Victoria Harbour, ON

Byndeweed Beth..good morning..well both at work and at home I've your name written down on a notepad.. have I forgotten a commitment???? Sometimes I offer to do something and then voila...gone from mind...sure hope not...just let me know, maybe it's something just waiting to be forwarded or mailed....off to work...

Chester County, PA(Zone 6b)

Morning all. Busy day yesterday not much online playtime....

Love all of the MG's...they are one of my favorites and I had a really hard time trying to grow them here. (I know, they're easy!) Well, finally last year some took hold and now I have a lovely bushy vine covering a portion of my old post and rail fence. I've even moved some to the front porch rail and they are small but doing very well. You may get a few blooms this year yet, Betty, if your's are in a happy place.

Betty, that is very sweet that "you" are up on the little girl's shelf....how nice!

Judy, glad you got rain...sorry you had to drive in it.

Well, I'm off to pick veggies and then give hubs a quick computer lesson....if we are both still alive after that...I'm off to work. Big meeting this morning so I'll try to pop in later today.

Yesterday......

Best? I really worked at work yesterday and cleared my desk....feels good.

Worst? All of my transplants from the weekend were so wilted when I got home...I thought they were goners. (They have perked backup this morning though)

Learned? Don't ask H to water the hanging baskets....they were dry and wilty when I got home....and he insisted that he DID water them...twice! (I'm sure he wasn't lying.....probably just gave them a little squirt...not what I had in mind.....I think this might be one of those times when my man's mind said "Hmmm. If I do a bad enough job here, maybe I won't be asked to do it again") I do believe he is correct! *Sigh*

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

Morning feel like I have been AWOL for ages. With DH on vacation I couldn't spend much time on the computer. But he could sit in front of the tv watching old movies, hunting and racing. Can someone explain the difference??? LOL

Have loved seeing all the art work and the crafts. No wonder there are so many pretty gardens out there. The talent gets into all our work and those of you who say you have no talent, probably have beautiful gardens and I have noticed you have a great way with words. Which I envy!

The stories told yesterday were fantastic. Any more?

Worst thing yesterday:::::can't think of anything.

Best thing::::got some of the little things in the garden done.

What did I learn::::can't think of anything there either.

Had 2 days off and it is back to work for me but not until 2:30 this afternoon.Time to play on the computer.garden and do some stuff around the house. Then maybe a 30 minute nap or rest and off to work. Yeah I can do that! LOL

You all have the day you need.

Good Morning,
W O N D E R-I love that your crackin yourself up-Too funny, yes wedgie same thing here. I am really glad that your feeling good today.
Great birthday gift...Cash, how fun to browse and buy anything for crafting.

Betty, How very special. Must make your heart burst with warmth.
I am real sorry to hear the loss of your nephew.

Ves-LOL-I do think it's a man thing. Mine sure seems to wait until I sit down at the computer, with a book or any little thing before he decides it's time for a conversation. Well glad you had a nice mini vacation...even tho it meant watching hubby.

Well today should be a good and busy day. It was not to bad driving in the rain yesterday. But will have an instant replay today. Rain Rain ..let it rain.
I hope it gets to all parts so every garden receives a good soaking and brings a little cool down.
Also -remember that landscape job? Finally this weekend I am to begin first phase. Got my list all together, and finishing the final touches for the presentation.

Oh my gosh we got the worst scare last night-Three of our Major bills didn't get to their destination! This would have Killed us financially. So we must find out where the heck these payments are. Fortunatley we are really good at getting payments in on time...So DH got on phone and was able to staighten things up and even made a couple of payments. Whew! I think I gained a half a head of more white! So now we have to trace those payments-But the good thing is at least we won't loose our house over it.

I better get on the job here...See ya in a little while-Hope you all are having a good day.

Betty, no committment, I think you just jotted down my name for mutant MG seeds I said I would send if my vine produced any. I find notes I made to myself months later and can't figure out what I was noting!

Morning All,

Hot as heck here and no relief in sight! I have thoroughly enjoyed everyone's "stories" and would like to know if you would be interested in reading a non-fiction short story I wrote about my camping woes. I think you'll get a laugh or two from it. I have aonly shown it to my family who said I should send it to a magazine but I can't find one that will take it. Anyway, let me know if there is interest.

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Gardengirl, I'd love to hear the camping woes, camping is my favorite, and I've had a few adventures of my own..lol

Thanks everyone! Ok, here goes......

Why My Mother Never Went Camping
By Jeannine (Gardengirl1204)

So I was one of those kids who liked the outdoors but who had parents that didn’t have a clue about camping. The closest we got to camping was building a fort with blankets and clothes pins around a tree and the picnic table. Not exactly roughing it. I think my Dad was willing to give the real thing a try but my Mother was a no go.

Luckily I had an uncle who was a great outdoorsman (my Mother’s brother – go figure!). He was a Boy Scout leader; hunted in the Tetons and hiked the Appalachian Trail. He knew what he was doing. Sometime around when I was twelve, he invited my Dad and me to go camping with him. Living in Virginia, he decided to hike some of the Appalachian Trail – in November (first mistake). The hiking was fun and the mountains beautiful. Night fell and we prepare for bed – in a three sided shelter with bunk beds – my uncle tells us we need to sleep in our underwear so when we wake up in the morning, we can put clothes on to warm up. If we sleep in our clothes and are cold when we wake up, we don’t have any more clothes to put on to get warm. Mistake #2 – listening to my uncle! I can still hear my Father’s teeth chattering as he walks me to the outhouse in the middle of the night. This of course is after we have put all of our clothes back on for the trek. We head back to the shelter and there is NO WAY I am taking these clothes off and sliding into a $10 Tweety Bird sleeping bag! Needless to say, even with clothes on, we froze our butts off in the November mountain air (DUH!). My Mother I’m sure was quite warm!

I didn’t attempt camping again until I was in my twenties. I headed to the Outer Banks of North Carolina with a boyfriend for a few days of sun and fun. We made our camp in a nice green area by the beach. Our tent looks like a huge Conestoga wagon without wheels. If the pioneers can survive in them, so can I! We hit the sleeping bags for a nice breezy evening of sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night, God decides things are just a little too calm and sends one storm after another. I’m talking lightning bolts! BIG lightning bolts! Remember I mentioned the nice green place where we put our tent? Yeah, well it was green because that’s where all the water pools when it rains. It’s a nice little pond complete with frogs and mosquitoes. Oh, did I mention that the mosquitoes were so big that they served us juice and donuts when they were done feasting on our blood? I know I gave at least a pint that night! We finally abandon the sturdy (but quite wet) Conestoga wagon tent and head to the truck to attempt to get some sleep. Not gonna happen! There’s a mosquito loose in the truck and he wants another pint! Needless to say, my relationship with this boyfriend barely survived our return to civilization. Strike two for camping.

In my early thirties, I met my husband-to-be and after dating for a few months, he wants to go camping. (What is it with men and camping? Is it their need to revert to caveman times that drives them to live among nature?). My dear mother warns my boyfriend about taking me camping – that my track record isn’t that good. Thanks Mom! Way to get me a husband! So we head up to the mountains for a night of camping. It’s April and a little chilly but I’ve got a real sleeping bag now and a new boyfriend. We decide to camp off of a fire road in the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA. As we get closer and closer to the site, we realize it’s getting a lot colder. What is that white stuff falling? No… it’s April! I don’t believe this, it’s snowing! What do we do now? We decided to forge on and not worry about a few flurries. We find a place to camp and drag all of our stuff out and set it all up, all the while, it is still snowing – and I’m freezing! We’re doomed! I can see this relationship slipping away like the warmth in my body. Why didn’t I listen to my Mother? Why wasn’t my idea of camping checking in to a Holiday Inn? Only God knows, and he wasn’t done having fun with me yet!

So, I survived the camping trip as did my relationship. Fourteen years later, my husband and I and our two kids camp regularly. We stick to establish parks (come on, I’ve got to have a bathroom and shower!) and take our boat all over the lake. However, God still likes to test me though and have his fun.

On a recent weekend camping trip, his humor was getting to be a bit much! The weekend starts out great. We have beautiful camping weather, full moon on the lake & a nice breeze to keep us cool. Peaceful, right? To an optimist, it’s a sign that all things will be great. To a pessimist, it’s the calm before the storm. Our first sign of trouble is the $182 ladder our daughter drops off the boat in 40 feet of water. Deep breath… breathe slowly I tell my husband. Don’t sweat the small stuff, right? (Note to self: do not buy anymore Richard Carlson books!) As we head down the lake for lunch, the skies get cloudy and the wind started kicking up. We make it to the location for lunch and attempt to dock in the choppy water. I’m on the front ready to jump to the dock to tie us up when all of a sudden the wind swings the boat around and I go flying into the water. I come sputtering up as our boat (my husband’s baby) hits the corner of the dock and gets a nice gash in the side door. I hear “Oh my God, my boat!” Hey Honey, I’m drowning down here! Forget the boat, I’m your wife! Yoo hoo! Anyone? I finally make it over to the boat and climb the new $182 ladder back on to the boat. Funny! Real funny God!

So, for the remainder of the afternoon, things were pretty uneventful. Another calm before the storm? Ah, yeah – literally! We start preparing dinner – hamburgers, hot dogs and the works on the open pit grill – s’mores for dessert and torrential rain as an appetizer! There is nothing worse then trying to cook in the rain! But wait! That’s not the worst of it! My son, my darling boy, the one I kept saying “you better put some shoes on” to, decides to add a little more excitement to the day and steps on the hot grill grate that has been laid to the side of the fire. What else today God? Locusts? Frogs? Maybe Bigfoot?

In the ensuing chaos, I suddenly have an epiphany! This is it! This is why my mother never went camping! She knew this was the stuff that would happen if you ventured out from the warm, dry & protective shell of your house. The elements that would assault you; the bugs that would feast on you; the leaky tent you had to sleep in. She knew it all! Or did she? I realized then that she in fact did not know it all. She didn’t know about the gorgeous sunsets that take place over the lakes and mountains. She didn’t know about the peaceful sounds that come from being outside with nature or the time you get to spend with your family with no TV or phone interruption. These are just a few of the “good things” that are part of camping. And although my camping history may look tarnished, there have in fact been many great times – and none which I would trade for a nice warm house.

Well, on second thought…..

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm just a laughing...you are a great story writer..and you should send it in to a 'camping' magazine...living in the north, on Georgian Bay with a hubby and two boys who lovvvvve camping and outdoor activities...have some of those 'God why me' experiences...and I know about "hubbies" and their boats...but you braved the elements..congratulations...

But all and all, what wonderful memories and laughs we've made and shared...

Thanks for the story..

Absolutely wonderful - I was literally laughing outloud!! I'm sure there is a market for that story . . . keep trying to find it!!! Many, many people would enjoy it for sure. Thanks so much for sharing it.

Oh, hahaha-I love the way you told the story! Still giggling- Oh the great out of doors. I am so glad too that you continue to enjoy the challenges of nature. I hope that you do submit it to a magazine for print.
Thanks for a good read and chuckles.

Thank you everyone! I loved writing it cause it really brought back the memories. My DD is 73 and we still rib him about his chattering teeth in the winter!! I'll keep looking for a taker for the story and keep you posted!! Thanks again!!!!

Jeannine, I have a girlfriend that rides cycles and went with her boyfriend to Alaska, she wrote a journal and contacted several magazines and got it published, then they had her on retainer and she wrote monthly for their magazine...

Liz is a hairdresser who recently met and fell in love with a wonderful man in Quebec..he stayed at her home for part of the year and she, when she knew he was the one, moved to Quebec....she went skiing this winter, fell and while at emergency, they told her she had a rare form of cancer, same as Terry Fox had..our cancer 'hero'...they cut her foot off and now her leg and it's spreading quickly...she is 47 years old...

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Gardengirl, great story! Aren't there magazines for the ATrail, which you could submit it to, or what about a family/parenting magazine?

I hope you still like camping, cause I know in my lil family, I've been the one to head up all the camping. Actually, my daughters 6 now and she had only been camping with me (not her dad) until recently.

Would I be a total show-off if I told y'all about the only time I camped on the App. Trail?

Glenview, IL

I would like to hear your story.
Judy

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

Betty, I'm so sorry about your friend. I will keep her in my prayers.

I haven't been able to find a magazine that accepts stuff like this. A lot of them want someone who has already been published or a article with a certain amount of words. I was thinking that LHJ would be good but you need to be published. Do you have any idea what magazines your friend contacted?

My DH went camping in Alaska before we started dating and kept a journal too. That will be my next dream trip but I want to do the "non-camping" adventure - cruise and hotel!! We still try to go camping once a year. Last October was the last time and the fact that my DH and I are still married speaks volumes about our relationship after that trip. I didn't include that trip in my story although it would have fit right in.

We plan a camping trip each year so we can take our boat up to the lake to get winterized by the guy we bought it from. Well, the weekend we had planned this past fall was looking like it was going to be a wet one. Since we have the magic of meterology, DH & I kept telling ourselves "it's going to be an adventure". We knew were were going to get wet, we just had no clue how much!

So we arrive at the camp ground which has closed all of the sites except one whole section left open for the idiots who still feel the need to get "back to nature" in Oct/Nov. Did I mention that the rain was caused by a nor'easter or some other kind of "hurricane in wolf's clothing" storm? We drop the boat in the churning water and my DH drives it over to the campsite. I on the otherhand drive the truck with the boat trailer all the way over to the site thru the driving rain and downed branches all the while telling myself "remember, this is an adventure".

I get to the site and huh oh, it's under water! The other thing I notice is all of the other sites are empty. (remember the 'idiot' part?). So I have to find the phone number of the guy up front at the gate so I can call and see if we can get a different site. He's like "sure, take your pick. Nobody else is out there". DUH!

So DH arrives with the boat and we pick another site on the other side of the point. He drives the boat over there and because the water is so low, has to park it out in the water about 30 feet from the shore because it's too shallow to run it aground. He comes slogging up to the camp site and we start to put a tarp up so we can have some shelter other then a tent. I think I forgot to tell you that the winds were blowing at about 20 -25 mph - loud enough that it was hard to be heard.

It's now about 8pm and we start to put the tarp up in the driving rain. We're soaked to the bones, the kids are whining (surprise!) and we're all starving. My son almost gets blow away when he grabs the tarp and the wind catches it. (that was funny!) We finally get the tarp up at an angle so the wind & rain won't put out the fire we're going to build. Next, the tent. We have a brand new 3 room tent. Beautiful tent! A little difficult to put up in the wind but we made it happen. The rain finally lets up and we can get the inside of the tent all set up with our air mattresses (no hard ground for me!!) and blankets. We eat dinner - typical camping fare and finally decide around 10pm to hit the hay. The rain has started again so it's the perfect time to retire.

I go into our new, beautiful, water resistant tent and find - WATER! It seems that water resistant does not mean water-proof and the seams have all leaked and we have lines of wetness throughout the tent. OK, DH comes up with the brilliant idea of putting the extra tarp over the tent. This is one of those big, blue tarps you get at Lowes. So we get the tarp over the tent and we now look like we are sleeping in a building that is in the process of being fumigated. Our beautiful tent is now a big, blue blob!

We crawl into our damp "bed". The kids are out like a like (%^$#@&) and DH and I lay there listening to the serenade of the big blue tarp choir. Some how, we fall asleep and wake up a few hours later to no wind but the distinctive sound of something raiding our camp. Of course, my bladder picks this time to insist on telling me “I’ve gotta pee!!!” I’m picturing a huge bear and remembering a Readers Digest “Drama in True Life” story of a camper that was ripped out of their tent by a very hungry bear. I elbow my DH and tell him to “get out there and git it”. He slowly unzips the tent and walks out carrying an umbrella to beat off the 20 foot grizzly that is going thru our trash. (note to readers: remember, always hang your trash up before retiring for the night). I hear nothing from outside. I call to my DH and he doesn’t answer. OMG! Where is he??? I peek my head out and there he is relieving himself on a tree a few feet away. What the heck? I ask him what it was and he’s like, huh? He finally wakes up enough to hang the trash up and we determine that our visitor must have been a pesky raccoon, not a bear.

So we finally are able to go back to sleep - snug as a bug in a rug in our big blue cocoon. We wake up to beautiful sunshine in the morning. The wind is till around but thankfully, no rain!

We decide we’re going to take the boat up the lake for lunch at the infamous location of my previous dunking. We head out onto the lake and the wind is so bad the boat is hardly making any headway. After a half hour of riding with the boat slamming down with every wave, something snapped in me. I’d had it! This was NOT an adventure anymore! My brain was coming out of my ears from the pounding! I turned to my DH and said “I can’t do this”. He’s like “huh”? I tell him I cannot ride on this boat this way anymore. We’ve got to stop in a cove somewhere and either sit out the wind or go back to the camp (I was thinking ‘go back home’!). I can tell he’s mad cause he really wanted that Uppy’s cheeseburger but I was prepared for a mutiny! So he turns towards a cove where we hang out for a bit and decide to head back to camp and then drive into town for lunch.

So after lunch at Pizza Hut and our “we must go to every Wal Mart in every town we visit” visit to Wal Mart, we head back to camp. The rest of the day was uneventful (thankfully). We remove the tarp from the tent since the rain is gone and settle into our normal camping routine for the night. We tie the trash up and snuggle in for what I hope will be a good night’s sleep. WRONG! The temperature drops to around 40; the tent is now freezing cause we took the tarp off that was keeping things toasty and the air in the mattress under me feels like an ice cube. I am the one with the chattering teeth this time! I also realize I don’t have a real good sleeping bag; not like the one DH is snoring soundly away in on his side of the ice cube.

I didn’t have any great epiphanies on this trip. No eye-opening realizations. Just driving rain, brain jarring wind and bone numbing cold. Camping paradise!

OK, thanks Judy for throwing me a bone...lol..can't help being a bit of a showoff, don't think my story will be quite as funny as Gardengirl's, but here goes:

When I was a junior in high school there was this guy in my art class I had a MAJOR crush on. He was really creative, talented, funny, nice, and did I mention he was like, super HOT! I mean really, really, REALLY hot, like every girl was crazy about him hot...lol

SO we were hanging out after school and all that and it was pretty obvious we had a crush on each other, so when he invited me to go camping on the App.Trail during some type of blueberry gathering....better beleive I was packed and ready...lol

From where I grew up on the beach to the mountains can be at least a 7 hour drive. We were going to stop midway through and stay at a friends of his. Well....this guy was so nice and all that, but by 16, I had done quite a bit of traveling and growing up. By the time we got to Raleigh (3 hours away), I decided he didn't quite meet up to my intellectual standards (hotness disregarded) and I no longer had a crush on him...lol...I contemplated hitchiking home

Skip to the camping part---we got the the area it was devils or satans something----and hiked about 3 miles in to camp. Met some nice people, put up our rinky-dink tent, made dinner, all that good stuff. No sooner had we finished eating than it started pouring rain...so we got into the tent. It was late August but up in the mountains it gets really cool in the evenings. The later it got, the colder it got. And the tent started leaking.......bad, really bad.

So in our brilliance, we crank up the ol' propane stove....hey that's better! Then the rain was coming in all sides of the tent with literal streams on all sides. It was freezing, and even though I didn't like him anymore, I was totally releived when he tried to cuddle with me...lol...but honestly I couldn't have been close enough to ever get warm, we were soaked and freezing.

And smart enough to leave the propane stove on all night! If y'all don't know propane fumes can do nasty stuff like, um, make you die.

But we survived, got up the next day and went home. We affectionately called the trip, "A River runs through It" to remind us of our tent. And we were great friends for years. ;)

Tropicana -that was great!!! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with camping woes!!!

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

I really enjoyed your second tale, too, we must've been typing at the same time!

Glenview, IL

Oh my gosh-great story(s)
So-tropicanna -is your friend still HOT? LOL geeze the things you learn.

Speaking of cold I am printing them out and going outside to read again.
It's so cold in here from the AC I feel the flurries that GG felt in the mountains. My fingers are so numb can't feel the keys. No I've got to go outside and catch some warmth.
Judy

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, we went out to lunch and there isn't a breath of air to be had...wind is blowing, sky is heavy...can feel yet another storm rolling in...

aren't these ladies great, letting us in on their stories....

Jeannine, I'm amazed that you are still boating...

Tropicanna..isn't it nice to bring up memories from our youth..at lunch I was telling my SIL that when I took Kyle (grandson) out for breakfast on Sunday morning I met a lady that I hadn't seen in about 45 years...when 13 or 14 - in high school..I hung around with her brother...of course she went on and on re she would never have recognized me (dah) anyway today it brought back the memory that they lived directly across the bay from me, now I'm not that ancient, but he had a sled and 2 dogs, he'd cross the bay, pick me up and we'd visit his home and then back across to mine...imagine, I really should tell the grandchildren how I dated a guy and travelled by sled...they'll get a kick out of that...

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

He's not bad, Seedtosser..lol. He's let himself go a bit, but I guess we're all starting to get to that age. Still just as nice as he can be, and every once in awhile I can't help but wonder what would have happened if I ended up with a nice guy (even if he wasn't the smartest) instead of a smart A$$...lol

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow, Betty, yeah that sounds pretty cool actually...I dated many interesting characters, but actually come to think of it the guy from the camping story is still a talented artist and builds boats for a living, that's pretty darn cool man stuff. Don't know what I was thinkin looking for a guy with brains..lol

Glenview, IL

Betty,
It's hot and humid here as well. the breeze does make it tollorable.
You know I just love stories. Telling or hearing them is wonderful. My group used to blab all day long while we worked. Made the day go so much quicker. Now, I read while I work, People think I am little off my rocker if they happen to walk by and see me laughing out loud crying or whatever. LOL with exception of those who know I am in the Garden. Some will come and see what I have been reading- and other just give me the OHHHKAAYY look. Oh gosh such simple things make me happy.

Oh got a call from my son this morning-He says Mom you have got to see this lady's yard!! Really I say. You wouldn't believe what she's got you would love it. Ok, I am excited as he and wow what has she got? Oh she's got really pretty bushes with paths and even a bench. You just have to see it mom. I said well ok we'l have to go on a tour. Aw only my son would give me a call in the middle of day and tell me of someone elses beautiful gardens.

That just kind of made my day.
What are knitting Betty?
Woohoo my binders are here!! See you in a bit, got to whistle while I work!
Judy

i learned that anticipation causes anxiety and often a letdown when things do not happen when you expect them. BUT, there's always tomorrow!

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

Go for brawn! Hot man who builds boats?? Sounds like a Luanne Rice novel!

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Brawn..lol..yeah I 'missed the boat' on that entirely when I went for brains. He's still single, Gardengirl, I could probably hook y'all right up. My mom always wanted him to be her son-in-law, and to his credit, we went lots of places together and he was always a gentleman--would do nice things like, if he stayed at your house, he'd wake up early to clean your whole place.

But, okay ladies, opening a whole new can of worms, because my dd is gone for the week...lol...tell me what y'all think.

Listed in order of importance, the most crucial components to a good man are:
1--Personality
2--Sense of Humor
3--Intelligence
4--Kindness
5--Good Looks (of course this seems to shift based on hotness..lol)
6--Can't think of a better way to say it but, Sexual Prowess
Someone else can rank money, cause I don't care (unless they're totally broke, so it should be on the list..lol)
7--Can anyone dance anymore? I still hold out hope for Being a Good Dancer to be one of the components actually met

ALright, I'm easy to deal with, I'm sure ya'll have better stuff

scio, oregon, OR(Zone 8a)

I would probably put Kindness before Intelligence, but I agree with most of it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Tropicanna...I'll enjoy putting them in order this evening..just out the door..advisory came on system to say tornado warnings in our area...100 mile drive should be fun tonight..can see the winds picking up here in the city...will be careful..wouldn't you know, I drove in today...yuk....soooo until tonight...

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

LOL love the stories, I'm in the catagory of roughing it means a Holiday Inn. The few times I had to camp for SGA I was teased beyond belief because I would haul, air mattress, solar shower bags, propane grills, invertors etc out to the camp site with me. I do not do primative.

Stay safe! You're in my prayers tonight.

I loved the story!! :-)

Best thing ... DG
Worse thing ... DH is working late * again *
What I've learned ... I have a * lot * to be thankful for.

scio, oregon, OR(Zone 8a)

Best Thing: Working in AC when it's 100degrees outside
Worst Thing: Hard on DH in the heat due to his heart condition
What I have learned: a fun bunch of people on the "best/worst" thread!

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Byndeweed, I think you're probably smart to put Kindness before Intelligence..now another area that I've shorted myself...lol...really, good call.

Best thing today-chatting with dg friends, and I did enjoy thinking about that story, reminiscing......lol

Worst--boyfriend got a new video game, which means this evening will be as thrilling as watching traffic, but he is cute when he's having fun

What I learned: Well, if I do ever decide to trade the boyfriend in on a newer model, I'll put Kindness before Intelligence..lol
