Rosa rugosa Fimbriata. Pretty, fragrant, and unusual.
What's blooming today # 2
That has to be the most gorgeous Rugosa I've ever seen!
Beautiful! How long is the bloom season?
Victor:
You asked, 'how long is the bllom season'. To which post were you referring?
That was for watersedge's Rugosa Fimbriata. Thanks.
Victor and I both like 'Fimbriata' but other photos of it look to be more of a medium pink, not light.
I still don't have flowers to take pictures of, but.......
Almost every Daylily has buds on it. Considering that they all were planted this year I am very happy about it.
Some sources say that you should cut back any blooms the first year so the roots can develop.
AIN'T NO WAY BABE!
I tuck all of them into bed every night, read them a story and sing them to sleep.
There favorite story is Mary, Mary, How does your garden grow.
They don't like Jack and the beanstock, because Jack cuts down the beanstock.
I will be very happy with any flowers that I get. In the mean time I love looking at all the pictures that everyone are posting.
Chuck
Never heard that advice Chuck. Keep reading. You should sing lullabies to them too.
Al, I planted with this in mind. There are about 15 daylilies and they cover early (Stella) to late (Lime Frost) with several in between. When I say buds some of them are very small and will be awhile before they bloom. I also have several other types of plants that are blooming through the season.
Chuck
I have late daylilies that don't even have scapes yet. I got daylily plants at the RU on sunday and the rest of my order has come in from Gilbert Wild.
Martha
Martha, some of the late ones aren't show much yet. I was telling everyone at Kassia Sunday how I didn't have anymore room for plants.
So what did I do today? Bid on some Neon Rainbows on the Lily auction. Will somebody stop me before I hurt myself!
Were you in any photos, Chuck??
Al - are your Stargazers always light or was that the sun playing games? Mine seem darker but photographer lighter.
Nice - congrats!
Pirl - That one is. I compared that photo to last year and that top petal is deformed in that pic too - I think I need to toss it out.LOL
You'll have more chances to get another shot of them within the next few weeks.
Nice butterfly, bigcityal! Despite all the butterfly-friendly plants I have, I only get white moths! Tamara
Thanks Tam - you can call me Al ;) you have clouded sulfurs?
Old news - I looked at the card for that lily and it's called Mona Lisa.
Mona Lisa...explains why it's blooming so early, stargazer is July/Aug. and why it is so much lighter.
I think it explains why that one petal is always frowning too.
No Victor, I missed the photo session. We got there around 4:30 after our garden tour.
But don't be disappointed, you can find my picture in any post office - I'm very wanted. LOL
Chuck
Al & Victor, Enjoying my absence?? Picking on me and my lack of photography skills? Or just jealous because my absence was noted at rhe RU and yours wasn't? :)~
Oh, were you absent Dave?
Chuck, we'll have to ask your wife about that!
No. Just tardy.
Tardy for the party?
Al - our Mona Lisa is the first of the Orientals to bloom and it should be ready to open anytime now. Thanks for the clarification.
Poor Dave.
Sorry you missed Catherine Zeta Jones at the party, Victor. She was asking about you.
Wicked, pirl! You weren't supposed to tell Victor - Catherine didn't want him upset about missing her opportunity to meet THE Victor.
HER loss.
True . . . but how is Victor going to take it?
Al -- I think that's a red admiral -- pretty -- I saw one monarch on the milkweed and the occasional other butterfly here and there ... maybe it's early here ... lots of lightning bugs though ...
Seandor - lying down!
Pirl - I thought you would say Victor would take it like a man, meaning - - - - - - (fill in the blanks anyway you want!) lol
I thought I did!
