Pirl; this is for you. I'd love t see some of your daylilys. Some pics please. JOY
What's blooming today # 2
Wow - gorgeous Lily, Pirl! Name please.
Joy, is that Fallopia? Very nice.
'Red Hot Lily' from Dutch Gardens and exactly as they pictured it.
Thanks! Another for my list.
Victorgarden and pirl I posted that pi so you would see that it is't as invasive as it's parent JOY
Joy, if it is Fallopia japonica, which I also have, it's not invasive at all.
Does it have a common name that I might know?
Japanese Knotweed
Great combo!
Thanks, Victor. Every once in a while everything works out fine.
When does your summer start, Joy?
Lovely and lush gardens, Joy. I haven't tried it because I don't have mildew....yet.
This is a wildflower that grows on Grand Manan. Vipers Buglos on the side of the road an in the fields. The white single rugosa grows in every dooryard and on long gone fishermans cottages.Thyme grows on the roadside. One very old home has thyme lawns .A fragrant enchanting place, The peoplare kind and gentle people. They live to the beat of their own drummer.
That light blue color is so attractive and with the roses it makes for a pretty picture, windy or not.
Very nice, Joy. Are they Golden Marguerite?
Daylilies take two to three years to get a flower. I did get two flowers from seed we planted last spring - that's fast.
Pirl Yes they are GM .they are volenteers I thought I weeded them all out a couple of years ago. I'm glad to have them this year JOY
I find them very reliable and when they are cut back they keep on blooming until November.
Pirl; I remember you saying that you got a heat torch of some kind for xmas. How did it work out? I ser one on the Lee Valley cat. and have considered investing one. No.1 son thinks I'd be a firebug with it. tell me about yours. JOY
I love it! Just watch your toes and anything flammable - like wood furniture or dry leaves.
Pirl; does it have a flame? I see some ultraviolet weeders too but not in Canada. MyGD is helpeng me this year and doing apretty good job.Better than most of the men I've hired. She also gives me lessons on using the comp. so I really get a deal+ I have her company too.We are using mulched lea
ves frome last fall for a mulch around the flowerbeds this year so the flame type would be out for this year.
My DH has one. He went to melt the ice on the walkway, melted all the planters. He is not allowed to use it unsupervised now.
:)
It's fun to use but many times it's actually faster to pull by hand!
I use it for the weeds in between the bricks on the terrace, Joy, and wouldn't try it near any good plants.........or planters!
