oh Pirl ... I am going to miss you too... and Gram.... and Victor.... can you imagine when we all see each other???? we have to make this happen!!!!
Sunday June 24 RU...
Shhh - don't tell Celeste - but let's each bring a little plant to send to her from us! We can put them in a flat rate Priority Mail box and I'll print a pre-paid label and Kassia can put it in the mail box to her on Monday! So don't bring a big, honkin' maple tree - just a smallish plant all wrapped ready to go in the box. But whatever you do - don't tell her - it's going to be a surprise!
Yank....I didn't read that. honest! LOL
lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah .... right!!!!!
Very generous of all of you. I'm feeling worse by the hour that I won't be there. I should stop reading this thread!! Hope we can do it again in the Fall. But the first time everyone meets is always more fun. Oh well.
I don't have any plants to send so I'm sending Our Dave. Maybe Al and I can send cardboard cutouts of ourselves. Or cutUPs. Too bad DG doesn't support video YET. Hope you're listening (The) Dave! Would be nice to see a clip or two.
Hey - maybe someone with talent could post a clip to U-tube (or whatever it is called.)
Yeah - especially if a fight breaks out!! Maybe over Celeste's plants?
Now, now, boys and girls, behave yourselves.
xxx, C
Sorry, dave, don't you plant Tulips in the fall?

Way to go Dave!! Actually, I remember you mentioning that in the past. Cool. The possibilities for instructional stuff are endless.
sheesh, somrthing else I have to learn? Just can see myself messing everything up but really like the idea
I can't wait to see the video features! You guys have a great time at your roundup.
Victor, I will have a computer geek here... my friend Mike AKA "slave boy" ... I am sure he can do something for me... hah... I take advantage of him every chance I have anyway... and I told him he was coming to meet you guys... he is not a gardener... yet.... my nephew (also a geek) will also be here.... today he gave me a lawn mower .... with one condition... he paid for it so now I can NEVER ask him to use it... it's for me to use it only.... can you believe it???? so I tomorrow I am cleaning up and trimming it all for the party.... so excited but a bit self conscious now.... my yard is not really a well planned designed.... oh well... live and learn!
Sorry to hear you can't come to my place, Maria, on that day, but if you want to come any other time, just D-mail me. I'm in my gardens a lot.
To everyone else, I'm putting out an open invite to my place July 22nd. I have posted a thread in the Roundup board, so let me know who will be coming, so I can prepare.
I'm very excited about meeting everyone next week. I got the day off from work, my sister is covering my shift for me, so I will be coming with my father and friend, whose name is also Karen, and we will be bringing plants. Sounds like it'll be a lot of fun. Karen can bring sodas, and I will bring the Box O' Joe from Dunkin' Donuts. How many people are coming, Kassia?
Karen
count me and Leo (my dh) in. we'll be there with bells on. i was so pleased to see that d-mail and i got so excited. i just love the round-ups.
i'll let you know what we'll bring for a food. do you need any plastic cups or plastic ware? i have some left over from last years round-up.
i'll also be bringing plants.
Kassia, if i may suggest, starting another thread for plant wishes. then we can check out what someone might want and bring it along. last year i put down daffodils and was i ever lucky. i got 1/2 of a 5 gallon bucket and another gallon bowl of daffodils and that was after i let other gardeners share the wealth that was given to me. this spring was wondrous with big clumps of dafs blooming in my new shrub bed.
Kassia, i can truelly relate to the wondrous feeling of having friendship plants from dg members. when i started gardening, i was lucky to find d.g., brand new then, and all the wonderful people that were here and some that are still here now. i still have many a beautiful bush and plant that was given to me by the many generous gardeners here.
what a joy it is to see them come back every spring.
and kassia, the newbi is usually the one that goes home, or in your case, stays home, that gets the most plants. since your need is the greatest.
well i'll be watching this thread and looking forward to june 23rd.
see you all there and thanks for hosting this kassia.
debi z and little franklin
a few pics of the round-up last year. unfortunately, we didn't get a group shot, perhaps i can get my dh to take one this year. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/619144/
debi, it is June 24
Thanks for that link, Debi, I'm not sure if I saw any of those pics. I must have, but I can't remember! Can we have nametags next time that have both names on them? Debi, remember jeopardavedy? LOL. I remember getting lost both coming and leaving.
xxxx, Carrie
Who is Kerri? I am Carrie!
I can't make it!!!! DARN! I commited to something last week. I wish I could! I'm so close, just in North Attleboro on the Rhode Island border. I WORK in Framingham. Good luck Kassia, I'm sure everything will go just fine. This is very exciting. Do these RUs happen oftern? I envy you Kassia, being able to get free input from lots of gardeners on what to do with your yard! Hello to All, you'll be in my thoughts on the 24th. ENJOY! What fun to meet gardners in the area from the site and put a face to names! Thank you very much for inviting me. I hope I get invited to more.
xxxx Betsydrew
Kassia, There is a North East rule that any RUs MUST be low-key & no pressure. Don't stress yourself, please. We are very grateful for your letting us get together.
Dave (NOT THE Dave)
Yes, make sure YOU enjoy it too Kass!! Don't worry about the 'hosting' stuff. Point out the bathrooms and then make believe you're a visitor too.
Yeah! Act like Victor's not even there.
Yes, remember Kassia, this is only a roundupito. :-)
dave
I'm sending my essence. When you smell apple / cinnamon, you'll know I'm nearby.
I thought it was Apple Jacks
No that would be Al.
I resemble that remark.
What a trio! You belong onstage.
Hopefully not waiting for the order - "Ready, Aim, Fire!"
I was thinking more along the lines of the Three Stooges!
I used to have hair like Larry - now I'm more like Curley.
I always get the Moe at the barber shop - he can pick out my bowl with his eyes closed.
Moe can poke your eyes out.
Hay Kassia,
Today on way back from Rivers Edge Garden Center in Framingham Marilyn and I swung by your house to see where it was. I love all the beds you have in front. They look new, did you just put them in? We were just going to look! Ya right, $59 later we left. Got a nice bleeding heart and Marilyn got some herbs. After we left your house we stopped at Country Gourmet (former Capasso farms), they had some nice DL choices. Because I don't have any DLs that have scapes I bought a Little Grapette that is loaded with buds. I 'm going to have flowers even if I have to make color copies and staple them to the DLs I have.
Kassia if you need any help before the day just let me know.
Chuck
I like your stapling idea Chuck! Maybe I'll staple a color copy of a Rolls to my Toyota.
Victor, I drove a Rolls Canhardly the other day.
ROLLS down hill CAN HARDLY make it back up.
Sounds like one of those cars that are so good you need 2, because one is aways in the shop.
A Corvette convertible, with the top down, was parked next to us as we were about to leave the restaurant tonight. It had just begun to rain. Jack went back inside to tell the staff and finally a guy came running out to put up the top......Jack's barber. Not doing too shabby!
And he usually takes it off the top!
Made it to last year's NE Roundup and had been checking this forum and the Roundup forum to see if anyone was hosting one this year. Unfortunately since it's going to be this month there's no way I can make it. Hope you all have a wonderful time!
