Oooo, yes! Pretty!

Boxford, MA(Zone 6a)

I'm so excited!!!

I don't have much in the way of plants except flats of hosta "elegans" OP seedlings- I'm up to my ears in them. I also have tons of seeds. It is tacky, or should I bring a pile of plant stuff (seeds, divisions) to give away? I don't want to push my junk on others, but I think it's a waste if someone else could use it.

I can bake cookies-- or not, if it looks like there's too much sweet stuff already.

I like seeds!

Lexington, MA(Zone 6a)

Hello All,
This is my first RU and I'm looking forward to meeting my neighbors. I have been digging for a few days and have potted give-aways. Included are a few Alpine Strawberries, some unknow Elephant Ears, Stella D'Oro DL, two tiny Amythyst Astilbie and several Siberian Iris "Summer Sky". I also have a huge "common" hosta which I would be willing to bring along if anyone is interested. More to come...
Lynda

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Looks like the vast majority of people coming are from MA.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I like seeds too! Melissa, I don't have anything to bring as far as plants go... unless people like poison ivy, bindweed, dandelions, creeping charlie, porcelain berry vine, jewel weed, virginia creeper and many, many more weeds that I haven't identified yet. I have plenty of them!

I'm going Victor. If you suddenly are free, I'll pick you up and you can come with me.

Thanks Harper. No, I have my niece's HS graduation. I appreciate the offer.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Okay.. "Tater Tots are what Napoleon Dynamite hoards from nasty classmates. If you have not seen the campy film you might want to try if you like that kind of humor. We must of played it a gazillion times in my household. My middle daughter knows every line ( hmmmm..wonder what her vocation might end up to be) Anyway, main chracter, Napoleon spends time drawing odd creatures from his fantasy world...the Liger is one.

Thanks GG/Lynda :-)

Now, I guess I'm better informed and more equipped to face each day but it still sounds like a Dr. Seuss character to me.

The Liger does, not Napolean!

I never saw the movie.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I saw it, but I don't remember any of that. I just remember thinking how strange it was.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I saw the movie; funny in an oddball sort of way. Did anyone see the movie with John Heder, who played Napoleon Dynamite, called Blades of Glory! OMG! what a riot that one was.

GG/Lynda I might want one of your elephant ears. I have potted a lot of things up this past weekend. I will see what I can fit in my little car. I have 2 people coming with me, plus chairs, and my trunk is not very big.

Karen

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Kassia, I have 2 large old coolers I can bring. I will also bring the 5 folding chairs I mentioned earlier and I will bring some kind of veggie plater.

Kassia - the box of plants for the round up was sent yesterday.

Just a thought here - anyone who wants to share plants might want to stop at local nurseries or HD and buy a flat of healthy, happy plants for $10.00 and everyone would be thrilled.

Also a box or two of plastic sandwich bags (and maybe some larger ones, too) for the plants you'll be carrying home, to protect vehicles and occupants who may end up with plants on their laps!

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks Pirl... I will look for it ... I hope it gets here ok since it has been so hot!

oh I have so many new roses today... hope they last till Sunday!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Kassia - I have a cooler I can bring as well :-)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Kassia,
I mailed the plants this morning by UPS. They should be there tomorrow, look for 2 box's. One is big and the other is smaller, but I had them all planted in pots so I didn't want to send them bare roots as I was afraid how some of them would take it.
Let me know when they come and how bad/good they look please.
Have fun everyone!!
Celeste

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks Celeste... we will trully miss you!!!! I will dmail you as soon as they come!!!
Michaela, bring the cooler!!!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

You betcha! I will bring it with ice in it :-) Still thinking of food to bring . . . and hoping someone wants my baby wallflowers!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Hi Kass, I'm going to bring some kind of salad- potato or macaroni or chicken or tuna... any preferences? I'll get it from the grocery store. Sorry it won't be homemade, but it'll be better than I could make anyway. Do we have any vegetarians here?

Harper

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Michaela,
I would love some of your wallflowers. I have no idea what they are but im always up for new plants! (big grin)

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Wallflowers are extremely fragrant perennials or biannuals. They bloom at the same time tulips do and are often planted in the same beds as tulips. They tend to be in colours of yellow, orange, bronze. In England, people plant their wallflowers in the fall, after they wallflowers finish blooming, they dig them up and move them to a row in the vegetable garden. There they still until fall, when they are moved again to where they will bloom in the spring. North Americans probably just treat them like biannuals.
