Should Women Surrender to Men in Marriage ?

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

A survey currently being run on our Idiot Box .
Please add your thoughts here .

I'm the King of My Castle .
And I have my Wife’s permission to say so . lol

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

LOL I'd like to see my husband try that line of thinking...

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

I think this is not an appropriate subject for discussion here, like politics and current events.'
That said, my answer is NO!
;)

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

sugarweed , I didn't think Toilet paper was either .
http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/690891/

And yet it drew over 900 posts and 3000 views .

I guess it just goes to show we ppl on DG. DO have a sense of humour .

Aurora, CO(Zone 5b)

I'm the king of my castle, and my other half just laughs at me. She doesn't care, so long as the castles mortgage gets paid! LOL

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

I'll surrender to my husband when he gives backrubs,
tells me to quit working hard so we can go out to dinner,
or insists that I buy new shoes.

Trust me, there was not, nor will there ever be "OBEY"
in my wedding vows. LOL!

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

The word "surrender" makes me think of war... :O

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

All of Brisvegas is talking about this Survey .
My OH came home from work with a good one .
A Lady she works with said .

Quoting:
He Wears the Pants .
I wash them .
I Cook the Food .
He eats It .
He Makes the Money .
And I Spend it . LOL

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

KyWoods , I thought it could have been worded better .
I only repeated what I saw on the Idiot Box .

I do know some couples who treat marriage like war .
Not this little black duck . I know my place .

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

I thought I was just being funny. I didn't accuse anyone of saying anything wrong.

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

When anyone calls here and asks for "the boss", I answer, "Speaking!"

Then they laugh.....I was serious!

Hap

Rosemont, ON(Zone 4a)

My husband thinks it's funny to tell people, "I only need three phrases to communicate with my wife:
1. Yes, dear.
2. I know.
3. I'm sorry.
And they can be used alone or in any combination."

After 30 years of marriage, I don't get upset about this kind of "humor" any more, just groan and roll my eyes.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Good reply June .

You too Hap .

Soon I will add some of the better replies I did hear on TV .

Keep them coming PPL .

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

This one cracks me up .

Quoting:
When I say Jump. The old man simply says how high dear.

Memphis, TN(Zone 7b)

Are you kidding me? Never surrender.....!

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Betsy ,
I want you next to me in the next War . lol

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

LOL, no white flag wavin' for us!

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Ky, It was amazing to see you come from Melbourne, KY .
We also have a Melbourne here in OZ .
It's at the bottom of OZ .

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

I'm sure it's much more exciting than the one in KY! LOL But it's all rural, so it is pretty.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

No husband thank goodness.

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

GINGER!! What are you doing? lol.. Turn your back for a second....

Surrender?? You kidding me? Probably why I'm not married after eight years, but even a ring wouldn't make a difference. He can cook, clean, make money, and spend it, ALMOST as good as I can! lol

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Holy......hey, Tropicanna, does he have a brother for me??? LOL

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

actually, since you are asking.....lol

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Actually KyWoods , He Is very good looking .
And that's coming from another bloke . lol
So get in touch . Tropicanna is he available ???

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Yeah, he's available, but very eccentric and nowhere near as broken in as his brother, you know it takes a few years-lol

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Have no idea of what you speak Tropicanna .

Sounds like you are speaking of a Horse ? lol

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Kinda similar, they have to be trained, too-lol

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

I am shocked of how you speak about us simple males .
And here we are putting you women up on a pedestal .

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

I thought that's how it's supposed to be, right?

Maybe one day I'll post a homage to the carriers of the Y chromosome....but my pedestal has been a bit wobbly lately...lol

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

I read another good one yesterday .

Quoting:
I can go any where I like , As long as it's not past the end of my chain .

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

My dh says, "It`s cheaper to keep her". A notory once asked if he could steal it as a lyric in a country song.

One time I had a male patient tell me about his wife and how she gained weight and that she wasn`t very randi anymore because she feels bad about herself. I said, My husband thinks I`m the hottest thing on earth...and before I could elaborate this guy, belts out with sincerety, "And you beleive him?" I got my dh on the phone at work and said," Honey will you tell this guy that you really think I`m hot". He did but the guy wouldn`t take the phone. I said, "That is Why you aren`t going to get what you want from her, I am not perfect but my DH makes me thinks I am and he is not afraid to say it."

My dh knows I`m the boss but I let him play boss sometimes, He just always does it wrong. lol

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

LOL, love that quote, ginger749 !

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Did you know :
Maried Men live longer than Maried Women ?

But then Single Women live longer still . LOL :o)

I'm not sure where that quote came from .

Aurora, CO(Zone 5b)

Don't know if I'm stating the obvious, but those long lived single women are probably widows! No pedestals in this house, for anyone. Don't care if the richest person in the world stops by, their underpants go on one leg at a time, just like me. Mutual respect and courtesy, or none at all.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

No that is a statistic that last i knew still stands. Married men live longer and widdowed women or women that divorce late in life outlive their x. Thats because we do run the show and without us, the men are clueless. they don`t take their meds, go get rectal exams, they drink and smoke etc. lol

Rutland , MA(Zone 5b)

io have been married to my dw who is my best friend, my lover and the light of my life for 39 years and in all that time i can honestly say that we have had no more that two small arguements. she takes care of the bills and we both take care of the house and the different chores. we go shopping together and everything. i learned long ago thats its easier to get along then to fight.

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

I knew I liked you for a reason Frank, You are both well trained. teach us.

I wish I could say we have only had two fights in the last 7 years but I`d be lieing. we both really love eachother but don`t always like eachother all of the time. That is why most everyone needs some outside friends and or activities besides your spouse. I get a little break, then I miss my best friend and want to be with him again.

Kell you started this thing, where do you stand?

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

I walk the razors edge each and every day .
Trying not to rock any boat .
As long as We both have enough freedom
To do what we each want to do then it's all good .
We both love Mountain Climbing & Bush Walking .
And that involves a lot of team work .
And that is what WE are , A Team .

Was that Diplomatic enough Hell???

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

That is soooo sweet, Herbie--how blessed you two are! And ginger, that is true, so many people think that they shouldn't have to work at a relationship--that if everything doesn't fall into place on it's own, that it isn't meant to be. That's sad. To care enough and to be smart enough to work WITH each other on it says a lot.
I have been alone for 3 1/2 years, and swore off relationships, but if I could meet someone who feels the same way I do, I might just think about surrendering my single-hood. Again...LOL

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

I think there must be a few Herbie`s but his fit may not be the same as yours, so I think we must pick wiser and then it is less challenging to do the work, when both are on the same page, with the same goal and temperments.

Kell well said. I heard the happiest and longest , healthy marriage all have laughter as a componant. I`d agree. Despite me and DH`d vast differences, we also crack eachother up. He can be so funny too. We also go to church together and want to get it and live it. We also have our love of Nascar and Motorcycle riding and taking small trips, often to renew ourselves and our relationship and we are both wanting our love life to stay strong.
