June Flowers Are Bustin' Out All Over - cont. from May

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

a little Armeria 'Nifty Thrifty' in my rock garden.

I keep getting "the smell of something" too! It's not the new long needled pine mulch and I can rule out many flowers and shrubs. Maybe it's a combination of many plants but it's heavenly.

Flowering almond...with no flowers on the top. this is what happens when you allow your landscaper to do fall cleanup and he decides that things need pruning...that won't happen again!

pirl, I've just decided to call it 'spring'

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Gram I have Nifty Thrifty too but it's not blooming yet. The flowering Almond is still very pretty and the Weigelia is lovely.

The smell is what my Brother calls "Wild Honeysuckle". These little shrubs that grow wild and bloom small white/yellow flowers at this time of the year.

gram - sounds perfect to me.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

In the Adirondacks we can't smell anything cause we're all stuffed up from that yellow stuff called pine pollen. I grew up in the Syracuse, NY area and when I moved up here I saw "yellow snow" coming off the mountains. Everything we own will be covered with yellow dust until the end of June but I still love this time of year. I just keep my windows closed and use the AC.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Grammy... I can't smell anything either!!!! still have a cold!!! and I think the polen is making it worse.... hey.... the price we pay for good weather!!!! I will take it over snow and cold!!!!

Gram, I am dying to see your garden... and Pirl I have to find my way to your garden also!!!! and of course to South China ME... that's a given.... I better start traveling!!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Around here it's wild roses. Little white flowers.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Victor, you're the closest to me geographically. You think the wild roses are what smells so good around here?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Could be. Or else you're picking up my pheromones.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

har, har, har.

"Gee, you smell like flowers..."

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

lol!!!!!!!!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Actually, my pheromones smell like a combination of spiced apple, cinnamon and caramel.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I planted this little Iris last summer, it's about 8" tall and it's called "Forever Blue".

Very nice. First step is to admit you have a problem...

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

" I have a problem"

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Congratulations. You are not alone. My wife once found me behind the shed - DIVIDING!!! I was so embarrassed.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Looks great Pix - Mandarin Lights is a my favorite azalea.

I took a few tonight

Diablo Ninebark, I used to recommend this shrub to people as a replacement to Purple Sand Cherries, until I discovered Diablo's get borers too.

Well Al, birds do it, bees do it...By the way, I guess we can't count on you for contributions for the new ark.

"Actually, my pheromones smell like a combination of spiced apple, cinnamon and caramel. "

Prove it, Victor :-)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Need the boss's permission. Any expression of my pheromones sets off alarms that only she can hear.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Okay :-)

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Victor, in an answer to your question on the other thread - the clematis is purple. My camera always has a problem with purple - don't know why. I also don't have the name of it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The white balance. See if you can adjust it. If you can you have to get a white or grey piece of paper or foam board and bring it to the area where you will be photographing. Then you make the adjustment and it should help.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I've tried that, but will give it another go...thanks Victor

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I've had the same problem with my Sony.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Yes Victor I have used the Noah post divorce settlement analogy before.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Lucky you that she can hear/ smell them. Sounds nice.

Your pheromone alarms, that is.
