June Flowers Are Bustin' Out All Over - cont. from May

a little Armeria 'Nifty Thrifty' in my rock garden.

I keep getting "the smell of something" too! It's not the new long needled pine mulch and I can rule out many flowers and shrubs. Maybe it's a combination of many plants but it's heavenly.

Flowering almond...with no flowers on the top. this is what happens when you allow your landscaper to do fall cleanup and he decides that things need pruning...that won't happen again!

Gram I have Nifty Thrifty too but it's not blooming yet. The flowering Almond is still very pretty and the Weigelia is lovely.

The smell is what my Brother calls "Wild Honeysuckle". These little shrubs that grow wild and bloom small white/yellow flowers at this time of the year.

In the Adirondacks we can't smell anything cause we're all stuffed up from that yellow stuff called pine pollen. I grew up in the Syracuse, NY area and when I moved up here I saw "yellow snow" coming off the mountains. Everything we own will be covered with yellow dust until the end of June but I still love this time of year. I just keep my windows closed and use the AC.

Grammy... I can't smell anything either!!!! still have a cold!!! and I think the polen is making it worse.... hey.... the price we pay for good weather!!!! I will take it over snow and cold!!!!

Actually, my pheromones smell like a combination of spiced apple, cinnamon and caramel.

I planted this little Iris last summer, it's about 8" tall and it's called "Forever Blue".

This one opend today but I have no idea what the name is. It's a tanish/gold in color and is about 16-20" tall.

This one is called "Hi".

My first flower on a Calla Lily ever!!! I always only got foliage.....I think I was planting to deep.

Then DH bought me a Mandarin Lights azalea.

Diablo Ninebark, I used to recommend this shrub to people as a replacement to Purple Sand Cherries, until I discovered Diablo's get borers too.

I have 1 peony, but then again I mostly have one of most things.

Centaura dealbata, I had people ask me for this seed last year, but the finches just molested this plant.

Victor, in an answer to your question on the other thread - the clematis is purple. My camera always has a problem with purple - don't know why. I also don't have the name of it.

The white balance. See if you can adjust it. If you can you have to get a white or grey piece of paper or foam board and bring it to the area where you will be photographing. Then you make the adjustment and it should help.
