Houston (and surrounding area) meetup/swap meet

Beaumont, TX(Zone 8b)

Knolan,

Connie and I plan on coming in Friday, doing some shopping and then finding a cheap motel off the interstate to crash in. We would be interested in staying with you and Mema. I'd rather give her the funds than some cheap motel. Dmail me with some details if your offer is still good and available.

I'm getting ready. The rain slowed my projects down, but have managed to finish some things. I just tested out cutters spray, and am happy to say it works pretty good, the mosquitos are not half as bad.
I think someone may need to bring an ice chest, mabe some ice too. I have one, but think we may need 2.

I'll start more cuttings of citronella. I have been experimenting with it and it's working very well. This year, my citronella has gone beserk!!

Randy, we sure do appreciate all of the effort you are going to to have a mosquito free zone to party in.

I have several tubes of some roll on mosquito stuff that smells heavenly. I think it's called Badger Balm or something like that. I will be bringing them to set on the tables for anyone to use. It's all natural and works really well.

Okay..good. Yes I don't want mosquitos bugging anyone.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Me bringing 2 or 3 box fans will also help.
I have extra canvas chairs should I bring them also?

Sugar Land, TX(Zone 9a)

Randy - I'll try to remember to bring an extra icechest....I was thinking full of bottled water?

I can bring a few chairs too, Smockette!

Sugar Land, TX(Zone 9a)

I could bring an ice chest - empty or filled - also, if Knolan can fit it in her car with all the rest of our stuff!

Where there's a will, there's a way!

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Yea, & my CR-V has racks on top! I've been know to carry large bags of Vermiculite on the top to CSRU more than once! lol Even carried huge quanities of 6' gingers on the top also!
Lg cardboard boxes that TP & PT come in, are great! I find the plant heights to match the box & then layer the boxes in my car. Of course, I can't see out the back but hey, that is why I have side mirrors.
If all else fails, I call for the trucks to carry whatever! lol

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

knolan, our local nursery had a 2 for 1 sale today and I went ahead and got the almond verbena there. So let someone else have what you have. The rain has messed up so many things.

Sugar Land, TX(Zone 9a)

Okeedokee! I needed to start some more anyway.

Houston, TX(Zone 10a)

Heya Smockette, you know how big my trailblazer is...only thing is , the truck is sorta new, so i need bags or something underneath anything too dirty - cardboard boxes of whatever would be fine too.. and i'm right around the corner from the farm so just let me know ... I'll be working all day friday (as always)- however thursday afternoons are usually pretty flexible~ just give me a ring

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Yes, we should have one ice chest for ice only.
Fans will be good,
I was thinking of setting up 2 trade tables..one for pre-traded plants, and then one for trading on the spot???

wow...I'm still coming, too! At this point, don't know what I'll be packin' up besides my dish. But, I'll be there! Took a road trip to Los Angeles this weekend, so getting to RJuddHarrison's should be a piece of cake! But, in this case, can it be a "brownie?!!"

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I have not been feeling very well and I am going to pass this time. But hope you have it again and I feel better.

Have lots of fun for me too.
