Does anyone know how Janett_D (I think it`s spelled right) is doing? Just curious.
I had one more I thought was interesting. Arlan might like this one too. It has the light yellow/green leaf, thin white picotee markings and a baby blue with purplish tinge to the center of the flower. This first flower is double and it had nothing but a bit of pollen to offer as far as being fertile. I thought it was interesting and wanted to share it.
Love that last one. It's exquisite!
You're right, Karen! I do like it. Is it from the same seed heritage as the lavender star seed I have from you? I have two of these plants growing, one is yellow leaved and the other is green leaved. I always have liked the kikyo flowered JMGs. Neither of mine are big enough for flowers yet...just buds! I got a later start this year...
Here is the yellow leaved lavender Kikyo plant: http://davesgarden.com/journal/j/si/124727/

Thanks!
Arlan, yes these are the same as yours. This is the third generation so far. These came in a mix showing purple, blue, pink, lavender color and light and dark leaves some smooth and some with the whirlpool shapes in them.
Those are great flowers and the colors are outstanding. Thanks for the photos.
Here's a lavender picotee that came as stray seeds in my packet of picotee blue last year. This years blooms are opening with more of a blue tint, but then get the lavender hue as the day goes on. It may be that they are growing in a pot with new Miracle Gro, so maybe they have more nitrogen than the ones I had last year. My camera did not get the color right, the bloom actually has a more lavender hue than this.

...and this is 385-40-10 showing the blizzard pattern from one of its parents. I'm looking for a blizzard flower on a small statured plant with crystal variegated leaves, like the Beni Chidori/Cameo Elegance complex (the other parent).
This one has promise...though there are several smaller plants in the growout that have not yet bloomed...
Arlan
Mark,
Just love that Lavender Picotee. Guess we need to figure out what to call it - that is if it doesn't already have a name.
Does any one recognize this MG?

Mark got these seeds mixed in with Picotee Double Blue Seeds from Livingston Seed Co. It seems the grower mixed these in by mistake.
Turns out that I too had the exact same blooms from the exact same situation last year.
Seeds from a Livingston Seed pack of Double Picotee Blue.
I'm attaching photo of one of my blooms.
Great blooms Arlan and Karen.
Karen just love this one

Beautiful blooms everyone! I am very late to get mine started this year. Hopefully I'll have some blooms this fall.

This one came back true through hand pollination. This is encouraging to me. I want to add that I weeded the pot all but the designated vines and found a volunteer nil. I moved it because it might be "something" you never know. Now it is time to tie blooms again...

I put well rotted down horse manure and composted clippings from trimmings out of the garden last year in the pots. I didn`t put a whole a lot but a shovel full mixed in with each 4 gallon pot. So far the formula is a bag of el cheapo potting soil, some plain old dirt out of the garden, a gallon scoop of moisture control miracle grow and a shovel full of well rotted down horse manure and compost all mixed in. It seems to be doing them some good.
I feed miracle grow only if I sense they could use a boost and the pots with the compost and manure do not need any help at all. :)
Oh I just love all of them!!!
Gorgeous flowers everyone. We're off to a great start this yr.
Karen, love your mini-horse. How big is he now?
Jackie
Stunning photos, all! Thanks for sharing.
I have three cultivars from LouisianaMark; nearly every seed germinated (thanks Mark!). They are on their way up my stakes and my fence.
Regards,
David
