Now that i had this surgury, I am watching how all my work was not nearly enough, as much as I added to my soil, it still isn`t draining well and I can do nothing but pay someone to add stuff now since I am unable to for a while. grrrrr

I`m jealous of all yall. My lasagna grden is not all done yet, keep adding and am waiting to get my stupid drip irrigation in. I guess fall planting is on my agenda now and pots, maybe lasagna some. :(

Valinda, CA(Zone 10a)

Ginny will not be coming with us this time. Family commitments got in the way.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Thanks for letting me know George. I was wondering if she was coming with you this year. Tell her I said hello

Donna

Jasper Co., MO(Zone 6b)

7 more days and leave tomorrow!

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning! I have been out potting an epi for George so far and digging out a few other things-oh and making strawberry jam. Happy to say/sad to say we will be arriving late this year due to both kids getting awards for French. They did not ask me when I thought the ceremony should be held. Fiona was in the top 10 and Morgan in the top 3 for San Diego for non native speakers in their groups. They have not told us where they stand nationally yet. So....with a great deal of luck, we will see you around noonish.

Mark, not many froggies this year. They must have gotten their toes frozen like everything else around here. They are still doing their best to get stepped upon but not in near the numbers I usually have-no takers on my portable pond this year either.

Concerts/competitions are all done for Fiona (except for the UN later in the month) so this week will be for roundup music. Jo, the little French piece about the goat is very nice. I think you are going to like it. Jethro Tull is not quite the same without the rest of the band.

Mike, have an earplug ready. I think there is a teenage girl planning to bend your ear about her doings the past year. LOL!

Back outside while it is still cool. I am loathe to leave the house though. Smells like strawberries!!

Happy Mothers Day Mom`s here. I don`t know why but I am getting nervous. It is my first one. What time Do you start eating, I am thinking about how to keep my jello from melting, it has a cream cheese topping with whipped cream too. I have an idea but if you guys have a good past tip that works, let me know.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

yo...I'm wit you blondie !

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

that is what I was thinking too. I`m not supposed to carry anything over 5 lbs though but my kids caught me with the shovel today. I will work it out or it will be breakfast before the drinking commences. You think I should make something different? Are you jello salad people? I know my dh`s friends could not stomach the idea of beer and jello. I will not be offended either way. Everyone usually loves the jello but I do not know if most people drink there?

Dawn, you bring whatever is easiest for you! Whatever it is, you only need to put it in your car, there will be plenty of helping hands at the other end. See you soon.

Kathleen

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 9b)

Dawn, people eat jello and drink beer or wine, no problem. I mean, think of the choco-holics (which I guess goes OK with wine, at least certain wines?) but chocolate and beer? not on a lot of people's lists, but you don't see anyone backing out of bringing dessert because there is a little alcohol offered too.

Don't be thinking this is a hard drinking crowd, it's not. Just a choice of beverages being brought/offered.

Tee hee, can't believe it's down to the last week! I gotta go dig and pot some Leonotis (and check the plant trade list for what else I've said I'll bring)!

~'spin!~

I should think that Don is on his way home now from picking up Balvine from Seattle and Zuzu from Sepastapool. He might even be home by now. Hey Don, how is the trip going?

Looks like all the people coming from out of state are all getting packed and ready to leave. Have a safe trip everyone and see you in a few days.

Is there anything, other than the directions to Dons home, that I can answer any questions about? The weatherman says it's supposed to be very nice on Sat. It could be in the 80's - 90's at Dons house. Don't forget to bring your own drinks, other than water, and make sure you put your sunscreen on before you come. lol

Rusty has been giving the count down in days now....no more weeks, just days. Yippee!!

Donna

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

No, Donna. He didn't even get to Sebastopol yet. Maybe tomorrow night or Wednesday. We're taking off from here for Temecula at 5:00 in the morning on Thursday.

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Oh wow Zuzu, talk about arriving at the last minute. lol I hope he will be well rested for his party. Please have a safe trip down. :-)

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

Thanks, Donna. I'm sure we will. Don's a very good driver. We should be in Temecula by Thursday afternoon, so he'll have that day and Friday to rest up for the big bash.
