You're going out to see Dr. Don - hit 'em up for some dahlias - he has extras ;)
Daily Musings * page 9
good to know.... I will certainly ask... but I have no plants to trade...
Ginger, very interesting Canna. Lovely
Sarah was not feeling well today, she didn't even eat breakfast. She went out looking for some grass to eat and ease the queasy stomach but it was covered by snow/sleet/rain and hard to reach.
She perked up at 'Cookie toss' time and ate a regular supper. She'll live. I figured out what the cause was, too. She nibbled on some ivy.
My day was taken up by efforts to set up a new web site for photographs. My PhotoBlog is fine but kinda one way, this new site is the real thing. http://dailypics.ning.com/ It's just getting started but it will grow. Visit and join.

Oh Kassia I know how you feel. Some days I feel like being married is such a chore cause yes he "can" cause me a lot of irritation (like today) but I won't get into that LOL. I lived alone on my own for a long time before I met him and sometimes I really miss that "alone" time which I never get now cause I have him and my two sweeties to look after. However this is the course in life I have chosen and I do NOT regret it. I just miss that "alone time". How old are you if you don't mind me asking???
Kassia -you are not the only single woman - I am single too. I just got new neighbors and they have a plow and now a Kubota 35L combination backhoe and skip loader parked in their front yard - so they clean out the driveway for me. Of course I clean out the driveway for my 90 year old neighbor across the street - so it evens out. I have a snow blower and it hasn't run for the last 3 years even though I get it fixed every summer and it works fine as long as there isn't any snow!
Anita's single as far as I know - where is Anita? Must be with Waldo.
Yankee - I'm sure you get new neighbors all the time ;)~
al, You will have to do the male ~female thing again .
And this time include Single or Married / Looking or not .
What you say ???
Married, but looking.......hmmm.
I don't know Kell, you lost me a bit. I know we've gone over some of that in the past.
Single = looking
Married = Not L.
At least I know what I mean .lol
The ' / ' was a little confusing in there.
Andy,
I don't want to alarm you or anyone else w/pets.....but PLEASE check this link out and see if your dog food (or cat food) is on the list. I was very alarmed when I read it as some pets have died and some of the food listed is top brand pet foods such as Iams, Nutro and Eukanuba. It has a article and then a link for you to check out the brand names. My DD little kitty has one of the foods on it and I'm glad I found it as he hasn't been well lately.
There's thread started in the pets forum about it too!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070318/ap_on_re_us/pet_food_recall;_ylt=At6ci0NloIcefkJpvc2ePUHMWM0F
pixie62560 - thanks for posting this link. I'm on the pets forum all the time now and didn't think to bring it over! I checked my cats food and whew! we are OK, but this is scary stuff.
I was safe too Yankee.....with 4 dogs and 1 cat I was scurring to the cupboards fast!!
Pixie, I saw the recall. Fortunately Sarah does not eat any of those brands. She only gets dry Purina One.
I figured out what made her feel sick yesterday, she nibbled on some Ivy.
Andy P
Thank goodness Andy! Not that she was sick..but that it was just ivy and not her food. How sad that we have to be careful about what we buy for our selfs at the stores, but now our pets too.
BTW..the fish is fine...."Baby" and fishy have seperate rooms now.
And DH and I loved your toe-tapping music!(DH played 3x)
gee, bad time for Sarah to have a tummy ache when they're recalling pet food, though. glad you figured it out, Andy.
jan (aka gram ~a girl~ a married girl ~ turnons are walking on the beach at sunset and world peace)
I too was relieved that my cat's Purina One was not affected.
No Meow Mix so I'm relieved, married and male.
Practicing a personal ad, Dave??
I'm not sure what Kell is looking for. ;)
Cool shot, Kell.
Sarah is her regular self today, phewwww.
My little web site is already growing, I'm psyched.
My onion seeds are sprouting.
Now if we can melt all this ice & snow, I'll be happy.
Andy
Yeah, I'm with you Andy. Sounds cold for a few days, though. Bummer. Glad Sarah is okay. My cat, Crash, had a similar time a couple of weeks back. Was not eating much for a few days. Never found the reason.
Crash? There must be a story behind that name.
Andy P
Yes. The first morning we had him, he took off racing and BAM, crashed right into the sliding door. 'Crash' announced himself to the world!
Dave, your town, Guilford, has been banging around in my head. I'm not sure if I've been there or not. I have a friend I used to work with in Rowayton, a bit west of you. I have another friend, a book dealer, north of you in Meriden.
single and not looking... lol...I am way too busy and spring is coming!!!! I have tons of roses to plant!
great picture ... I am going to plant cannas for the first time.... I am excited!!!!!
Kew, what are the plants in the first picture?? At first, from a distance, I thought they were cacti.
Kell, we need more of your great pics :0) pretty please?? the weather's been a bit ugly here.
andy, what kind of onions do you grow from seed? btw, never heard how your new grapes did in the fall?
victor, we had a cat that ran into things pretty regularly. his mother was very graceful & catlike, but he ran into table legs and fell off the mantle. thoroughly loveable, though. we called him Tigger and had him for 17 years.
Are we all really bored now? Well I promised that when we were desperate for entertainment I would post the link to Wallingford's (the "spirited cat") blog. Someone in the pets forum added a link from her blog to his - so I figure it is least a good example of "How Not to Blog". http://ayankeecat-and-friends.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html If you start with the oldest post - it might make sense - or not.
Gram, FarmerDill suggested Copra Onions for my northern climate last year. They did great, I'm still eating these long keepers.
I got to eat a few small grapes last Fall. They were very tasty but the birds got most of them. I pruned the vine a couple weeks ago, I'm going to have to beef up the trellis. I planted a few cuttings last Spring and most of them took root. Now I have a few Grape vines.
Yankee, your Wallingford is cute.
I'm anything but bored. My new site eats up time.
Andy P
Yankee, Wallingford is too funny. Times must be tough when you are your cat's straight woman!
Victor: Heading east along the shore it's New Haven, East Haven, Branford, then Guilford. I will speak to the First Selectman about Guilford banging around in your head. You might want to see a Dr. though.
Is that Andy's work?
Yeah Dave47 - times are tough. Glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, Dave - little did you know that your entire town is inside my head!
It could explain all those voices I hear.
Wallingford may not 'mind his manners' but he is entertaining!
Andy, thanks for the onion info. I may try them next year. when do you start your seeds? glad you at least got to taste the grapes.
Married, not looking.
Since I've never had to work I don't expect housework out of DH. But, he helps clear the table and rinses the dishes. I load the dishwasher. He vacumes because the cat hair bothers him more. I do the garbage because I know what gets thrown. I do all the mowing. Takes me an hour and a half, but I get into it and it looks very zen when I'm done. Besides that's a lot of exercise!
It's been nice enough to play outside these last few days. Today, no. I'm looking forward to the rain we've been ''promised.'' I have Intellicast up under this page and keep checking it. So far Missouri is getting it. Then the next nice day, I'm washing windows and mowing! DH got my mower cleaned and sharpened!
Nice tree huh? On the slope beneath this tree, my headstone will sit. What will it say? Never enough time in a day. I won't be there. I'll be scattered in the wind.
How come the guys are looking (maybe ?) and the women aren't?
Married, not looking.
xxx, Carrie
