Here ya'll go.
Pull Up a Chair XXI
Thank you much!!
Yes Renetalyn, can't wait to see who you get!!
Oh goodie, a whole new thread to fill up with .......................just about anything.
me either! *giggle it's a whole new world out there! All I know is it has to be small. I did see one poor soul that is so ugly it is cute! *g
How exciting! There's a little one out there waiting just for you!
Biv, where are you?
I've always wanted one of those ugly cute little Mr Belvedere pug dogs, I don't know what breed they are. They are so funny and cute.
If I ever get another dog, which I probably won't but if I do...it will be a small one. I've always loved big dogs, but they are often so destructive to the yard and indoors. But, I love dogs.....the way they just love you back and are there for you, no matter what, even if you yell at them because they chewed up your favorite shoe. I love cats too.
Yeah, Socks is my second child. I just LOVE that dog. She goes everywhere with me. Drives to school in the morning, visiting friends, anywhere I can take her.She just hangs that big ole' head out the window and let's the wind blow. As soon as Phil leaves in the morning she's up in bed with me. Sssshhhhh. Follows me everywhere....even sits outside the bathroom door.
I love my cats, too. What would we so without our pets?
Rena, have you tried this?
http://search.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi
Gee, I hope Ms Biv is not having to take cover from
the storm. They just showed the weather maps again -
Alabama, Georgia, the northern part of Florida, all in BIG
trouble. I'm glad Bama had her roof repaired just about
3 months ago. You'll all remember that it was leaking.
That is so cool Mahnot. Took me straight to the Muscatine Humane Society. I already had it bookmarked. We've made quite a few trips with feral cats over the last few years. At least they aren't hungry, or fighting to find shelter anymore. Most of them were so pretty I'm sure they got adopted. Our's keep animals a long time and are clean.
Looks like Bama has gone thru the worst of it. I hope she didn't have to move David.
Yeah, there's nothing like a warm furry body in the house
for good company, that's for sure.
Billy, I happened to come across the biscuit recipe you posted.
Looks good. I printed it up and will try it soon.
I don't have a clue as to the meaning of dreams and can almost
never remember mine, unless they were really goofy - like the
one Knolan had, LOL. Let's see - the Pope wears white, symbolic
of virginity, she gave her virgin presentation of snacks the other night
for her group. Her dream involves water, the talk was on turf and
probably how best to water, water mistakes, etc... Giving the Pope
a bath would be a mistake. He's old enough to take his own.
There was a crowd in her dream. Well, she was in a crowd in her
class. It involved food, which she had to serve on a minimal budget.
(Unlike Ms Fly, I'm not going the pseudo psychiatric route because
we all know that Freud had the hots for his sister and was nothing but
a perv - Imagine, listening to all those people with all their problems
each and every day. I'm sure he had to think about other things just
to keep from totally losing his own mind. Everything is not about sex.
There's lots and lots about pets and gardening and taking care of
family, etc..)
Anyways, that's my story and opinion, and I'm stickin' to it.
ROTFL!!!
Geez, I get no respect.
A double ROTFL!
That does it ! Waiter, check please.
ROTFLMAO!
Everything IS about sxx if you are male, I really believe that.
Oh, here's your tip for the day: Just got a DMail from
Bama. They're ALL OK, and her DH is breathing easier
today. Thank God on both counts.
She says there are reports of at least 13 killed, including about
8 or more students at the high school in Enterprise, which is not
all that far from Bama. She says she keeps losing phone service.
I guess she'll let us all know the rest later on. Just thought I'd let
you all know she and David and Bear are all OK.
Thank God! I was hoping she wouldn't have to try and get him to a safe place.
I have a weather page up behind my Dave page so I can check it occasionally. I saw some of the school footage on the weather channel. Just awful!
How awful.
I'm glad they're okay. Thanks for letting us know.
Gotta run. My daughter needs a hand. Will check back
later and want to hear that Bama and her family, and
MsBiv and her DH are all OK. God watch over you all.
Ciao for now.
Everything IS about sxx if you are male, I really believe that.
Our minister, in one of his really good sermons, pointed out that women are very good at multitasking, while it has been said that men aren't. He claims that men can so multitask - they can do something that has nothing to do with sxx (such as watch football), and think about sxx at the same time. And that is multitasking in the male world. He did a series on marriage, and sometimes we were rolling in the aisles. He also made some very good points.
I've been at Extension so didn't see the weather reports...guess I'll go see what is going on in the world.
I asked about the camera because I need to get a digital SLR and a telephoto lens. I already have a Fuji FinePix s7000 that does just fine, in most instances, but a long range camera it isn't. And DH has a Panasonic Lumix which is a great little point and shoot. But I want to take photos of animals and birds at a distance when I am in Africa, and since I'll probably only get there this one time, I want to do it right. When we went to Costa Rica several years ago, my camera of the time was absolutely inadequate and I have nothing to look at and reminisce about. Not a single photo. And we saw some awesome things.
Sunday is loving the pool area now. Goes bonkers out there running through the plants and climbing the palm tree and the big philodendron. I saw her fall out of the palm tree, just missing a big rock that borders the pool. And then she got in a big planter made from rocks that isn't planted right now, and dug and tossed and threw the dirt all over. I had a friend make the comment - Oh, you're going to let her run all over the plants and bite them and dig in the dirt, and then you're going to stop her somehow when she is in the house? How does that work? Oy vey!
After I picked myself up off the floor from laughing, I can only add my agreement about men. 'Nuff said. Don't even let me get started!!!!!
And giving the pope a bath? I don't think so!!!!! Yuuuuuuuukkkkkkkkk!! I also rarely remember my dreams, but DH remembers his all the time and they are doozies!!! Poor guy often dreams about work even though he's been retired for 3.5 years. The good thing is, he sometimes dreams he and his dad are working together again and it is so real that he feels like he's had a little time with his father. They were very close.
And then relief for Bama, David & Bear. And such sorrow for the families of the children killed.
I can't even begin to catch up with all that transpired on this thread today, so I won't even try! I did go to work and the roads were fine. I took this pic this morning out the guest room window. It's a closeup of the Photinia - I love how the new growth (red branch) shows up so well against the more mature green and the snow.
Ask any guy how often they think about sxx...I bet it's less than 30 seconds.
CJ, why don't you open a thread on the photography forum asking about the best DSLR. Love my Canon Rebel, but the zoom is heavy, I guess that's the way with every camera. Plan on carrying your camera bag and switching lens. Or, ask DH to carry it....that's the ticket!
M, I love Photinia, but not here. In Tulsa, they were beautiful! They had healthy red tips and they were thick and tall and made a great privacy hedge. Here, they are wimpy and often get diseases.
Let's get back to the dream thing again.......the question is....why did the Pope want K to give him a bath when he is perfectly capable of giving himself one? And why can't he fix himself his own sandwich? And doesn't he have a shower? Don't most men prefer showers? I'm starting to think K is really innocent in all of this dream.
Sorry I didn't check in sooner, but I was spending some time with DH and getting dinner ready. They just lifted the tornado watch for this area around 9:00. At least I don't have to worry about being awakened tonight with the Weather Radio alarm. If that thing ever goes off in the middle of the night, it might scare me to death! It's gone off three times since we've had it. Once I was in the kitchen with the water running, music was playing, and I heard that thing upstairs...IT'S LOUD.
Good news about Bama!
It just seems to get worse with each storm, doesn't it? When the tornadoes hit here, there were four young people killed. One child was left an orphan with no siblings...an incredible tragedy. Mother Nature is certainly not benign, is she?
Re dreams: Have we been fooled by this KNolan person? Could it be that she's just a dirty young woman (opposite of a dirty old man)????? LOL LOL
Well, I just asked DH how often (and he's deep in study mode right now) and he took no time to blurt out, "Constantly, show me your _____". So, I guess it's true.
It's true...I am innocent. In the dream, it wasn't the Pope who wanted me to give him the bath (and it wasn't the current Pope), it was everyone else expecting me to give him the bath...he didn't seem to have a say. Creepy.
And I've never know any man that can fix his own sandwich. DH does occassionally but he does such a bad job of it. He always says mine taste so much better 'cause I put love in it. I know, I know...it's a trick.
Hahahaha, Ms. Biv!
Yup, when I'm old, I'll be the little old lady smacking men's behinds with my cane. That's for sure!
That's it!!!! Everyone expects so MUCH of you....have you been overburdened lately???? And are they expecting you to do it their way all the time? I think we're on to something.....humor me......I need the strokes heehee
I haven't felt overburdened by anyone other than myself. I always say I want to do this NOW, I want this finished NOW, I want! I want! I want!
Back to the old dirty lady.....my sis brought over a fellow police officer that she's dating and when she introduced us I said, "Well, ain't you a purty thang?" I thought she was gonna die right then and there.
Do you call yourself by other names like.....Susie or John?
Haha, you're so mean.
I'm Edna Posselthwaite.
yes.. been looking there today. thanks.
Nada, I sure hope you find a new puppy soon.
Fly - did I tell you that I finally found a Mexican Flame Vine last week (I can't believe that I forgot to tell you). It is so pretty and the BF's and hummers love it. Check out this thread. She says they're easy to start from cuttings. Yeah! Once mine gets established I'd be more than happy to start cuttings for anyone at all.
http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/669166/
Oohh, that 's pretty, it's a deal.
Do you want me to start a piece of Lavender Lady?
Boy, I wish I could get that stupid stump out to put that passie in there, I'm putting it in a big pot. The neighbors would kill me if it suckered everywhere and I wouldn't blame them. Actually one of my neighbors planted this little bamboo like ground cover, I don't know the name of it. It creeps under the fence and gets in my beds, it's easy to pull up, but if one lives close to other people they shouldn't plant things that are aggressive. Just because they like it doesn't mean I will, and I don't.
Who's Edna P?
You asked if I call myself different names. Well, if I did, that would be my a.k.a.
I'd love a cutting of Lavender Lady. I'm not giving up on passies. I love those flowers. I'd like to get to know some of the folks on the passi forum and trade something for some of the more exotic ones. The yellows are so pretty. Have you read how each part of the flower resembles something? Found this on the internet: 'The name Passionflower refers to the passion of Christ: the 3 stamens represent his wounds, and the 12 petals represent the apostles.'
I'll start a cutting of the Flame Vine for you tomorrow. Heck, maybe even tonight. As tired as I've been all day, I suddenly have a second wind.
It's funny they have last names, wouldn't they all have the same last name, like Edna Nolan? Are they married to other people?
I've heard that before about the passie flower.
I saw a pic of a white one on the passie forum, it was very pretty, and the red ones are cool too. I've heard the frits don't like the red ones.
Look at this person's gate, it's incredible!
http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/697861/
Naaaawwwww...I'm a unique crazy.
That is an awesome gate. Sure wish I could have something like that. I have no room. As it is, my shed is in the far corner of my backyard and when I'm working in the front I have to go to the other side of the house, go through the gate, go all the way around my house to get to the shed. Well, DH had a good idea. The shed backs up to the fence on the right side of my front yard. He's going to make a gate there in the fence and make a new door on the backside of the shed so I can get to everything easily from the front yard. Problem is, I'll lose my Lady Banks. I planted that the first year I moved here and it's pretty sentimental to me. But, it does get soooo big and I have to hard prune it every year to keep it from growing up into the pecans. I used to have another one next to it but it was yellow. They are such pretty roses, even if they only bloom once.
There was a lady at "Another Place in Time" (she was a customer) that told me the red ones are poisonous to the cats. However, there was a huge gulf fruity on the one I bought and she told me it wasn't a gulf fruity but didn't know what it was. I know my gulf fruity's and that was one for sure. He looked pretty happy on the red passiflora - chowing away and he was the biggest I've ever seen. The red's leaves are very different, in shape and color, than the typical maypops.
Your Lady Banks wasn't yellow? I had one and it was climbing a Pine, the side of the house, the path, the fence, so I took it out, hated to, but did. You could always get another one.
I would like to have a little shed and decorate it like a little house, with little shutters, a little rocker out front, a little weathervane, it would be fun. Maybe put a fairy garden in front of it.....that would be a big house for some fairies wouldn't it? A mansion!
As it is, I make a million trips to the garage from the front or the back yard because I always forget something or need something else. Do you do that? I try to convince myself I'm getting in my 10,000 steps in that day.
And, I can't tall you how many times I've gotten to the garage and then can't remember what I went there for. All the tools and shelves confuse me.
You had a red passie? The one that died?
