yes, please I`ll take one Fiona in trade for one Nick. lol I love my bratty quiet, socially shy boy. Do the guys chug beer through a baby bottle? Oh I`m sorry that was anothere friends party. Hey I never grew red hot pokers but it sounds good, all the other ones grow here but I don`t know about the pokers, I`ll look. thanks, I`ll take your half dead ones too. Looking forward to this.
3rd Annual SO CAL RU MAY 19, 07
Does anyone want cactus? I have a patch on the side of my house that has alot of cactus and I would like to pull some out and replace them with something else. I'll also have naked ladies (guys, don't get excited, it's a plant!) and can bring some of those too. I'll have purple irises, not named, but a bluish purple for anyone.
Yes Fiona was a doll.
okie gang,
Pam and I have decided that the meats will be the following....
Carne Asada......It will be cut so it actually fits into your tacos....with homemade tortillas from HaroldS.......woohooo
Carnitas......a pork dish done in the style (estilo) of Mexico City....crispy on the outside and tender on the inside
Pollo Asada....a chicken dish that will remind one of the texture of Carne asada
Shrimp empanadas.....these are like little envelopes of corn around a center of grilled shrimp....yummy!
These are the dishes we'll be providing along with tents, tables, chairs, water, some ice chests, bathrooms (with disibilty access) ice, a venue, and horsies....lol.
things like rice, beans (those sound great weegy!) and other treats for the taste buds should be discussed on the food thread.
I will post my plant trade list on that thread on Monday when I start it. This year should be a fun one as I've been a propagating fool this fall and winter. And once again, there will be marvelous plants from so many other folks. This RU seems to really bring out some great trading materials.
We're getting really excited over here,
don
As the date gets closer we just get more excited around here.
Fiona is a gem
and
(since I have blond hair nor blue) I draw the line at bingo parlors.
SHRIMP!!! Did I read right? Yummy.....I may camp out for a few days. hehehe Jo
Iris` Me me. Does anyone need rabbits or gophers? I think I see a few survivors of crabgrass trying to spread their joy and The straw from my lasagna garden appears to have seeded alfalfa. Hmmm. I`ll have to go shopping to trade I think.
Dr. Don I was wondering what type of Doctor you are? It sounds very wonderful. Maybe I`ll bring my DD and she makes great Mexican rice. Me no.
I brought my cactus in so I don`t know how they would have done, my succulants turned black the first real cold night we had.
I start a new job tomorrow......please everyone pray that I'll be able to get the time off to drive down! Otherwise I'll miss all the fun....AGAIN!
Karen
I'm the poor kind of doctor.......we have horses.......lol
Are you a vet? Everyone with horses goes to the poor farm. lol
Yes indeed hellnzn11, I'm a vet-eran of twenty years with the United Nations and I've never known anything but being poor so it doesn't affect me even though having 30 or so horses is an easy way to remain poor....lol.
U.N. ha? well stay away from the glass of wind forum, they have moved some hot topics to yahoo. You need your friends. just kiddding. I have a feeling I will want to be as poor as you after visiting your beautiful ranch Mr. Dovey that is dangerous, you live just too close to your favorite machines. I think it would be fun to go down early the night before and go to old town and eat breakfast or lunch and see the Harleys and go with some of us to the casino. I am no wild thing by any means but i am game to enjoy more time with some of you and Temecula.
Nobody ask me anything, I`ll just bring a Uhaul. lol I`m still waiting for takers for my gophers, I`ve got a list.
Oh Dawn...Dovey is a she. lol
Gophers are the only vermin I do not have but you can keep them anyway. Some collections are not worth completing.
Pokers will go significantly colder than 8b so you are okay with them.
I had blue stripes in my hair about 1978 or so. Anyone remember cellophane colors? Ah come on-you know you remember disco----well some of you.
I am going to start dieting now.
Thanks for all the kind words about my baby girl. I like her too. I hear so many folks complaining about their teens and I have to keep my trap shut. Fiona and her big brother Morgan are quite a pair.
just banish me already before I am on the 86 list. lol I am just a slap happy idiot. Gyps, why art though not in the Parking Lot to play with me? My family is in a turkey triptophan coma and happy has a problem, she just said, she is so upset.
Yep...I'm female, Helen you must assume everyone is male until proven otherwise *LOL*
Cellophane colors was around in the 70s...? I considered myself progressive but I didn't discover cellophane until the late 80s
I'm really boring - I used clear cellophane for the shine! :-)
Kathleen
I had a cellophane once or twice but I have yucky, thin hair and it wasn`t as noticeable to me. In the 80`s, I had a root perm and loved it, especially the first one because it made my hair look real full and wild. It`s all better than the bee hives my mom had in the 60`s. I must use the masculine as you said, not knowing, but I never thought about it. I must need a RU to straighten my crooked path.
me too Kathleen... I was an 80s power woman and couldn't do anything too wild, but I had the biggest dang shoulder pads in the whole dang sales department! (ok I may be exaggerating a tad about the shoulder pads)
you roll me, now the pads moved down a few inches for most. lol
Hey there everyone, This is Fiona.
First I would like to say that I am soooo sad to hear that Elliot is no longer with us *sniff* He was such a good boy.
Next I would like to say that while I am all for bringing my flute and playing, I don't think that "La Bamba" would be a choice song for my repertoire. Somehow flute+la bamba makes my head kersplode. *wipes bit of brain off of mother's glasses* Yay but if you're lucky I might play some Mozart... *ponders ponderfully*
Ok, btw, my mom's a tattletale so anything you say or...well, say can and WILL be used against you in the court of.... well, that court really hasn't been established yet
(Frogs here-All I did was tell her that folks had nice things to say about her. Honest! Now her head is all swelled up and she will have to walk throught the door sideways).... I heard that...
*coughcough* And this changes things.... HOW?! It doesn't! Bwa-ha-ha! well anyways. A+ on carne asada and my mother wants her compy back so I'm going to leave... go finish my exciting history homework. See y'alls at the round-up!
Bye!
Fiona
Look forward to meeting a sweet kid, stay sweet always for your ma.
*Ponders Ponderfully*?
Am I seeing ME writing?.....lol. Good one Fiona...and a huge hug.
Mozart.....Schmozart.....lets hear the 1812 overture come out of that flute and I'll provide the pyrotechnics....lol. Tchaikovsky rules!!!...lol.
Hope you and your fabulous mom are well,
don
hey, just because I'm verbally/ adjectivally challenged... hey, that sounds catchy, "adjectivally", although I doubt that's a word... actually I'm about 100% sure that's not a word. Anyways, just because we select few can butcher the English language and still sound intelligent... I just completely lost where I was going with that thought. Oh well.
How darest thou say " Mozart Schmozart"! His compositions are brilliant! And if I play 1812 you have to play the cymbals. Though pyros are fun... hehe. And I don't know the music well enough to fake it... though I suppose I could fake it and royally screw up. heh, rather not thank you very much.
Well, I suppose I should go finish finishing my history homework. Silly poetry booky thingy that is taking up a whole bunch of tag board. oh well. AHH! tis mi madre!
Ok, bye again
Fiona
Hi Mz Fiona....A long time ago....before your time...a Miss Virginia (Miss Roanoke)...later to become Miss America played the flute as her talent....she played a most beautiful piece...about a goat....but it wasn't the same music that was in Sound of Music...Do you know of something like this? Jo
RR how many of you Southwesty`s are coming? Do you know?
Frogsrus, I never did comment on the redhot pokers, Yes I `d love one, some, dead ones any. lol
Only me ....and HaroldS...as far as I know...I'll be flying into San Diego to my DGD's (ezylivin)...then Sunday after the RU I will fly on to Nashville, TN....to vist my DS and other folks farther East. I have tried to get some interest from some in Phoenix....nada. Jo
Frogs, please tell Fiona I would love to hear Mozart, as much as she feels like playing!
Sorry, Don, I do love the Russians (composers), but Mozart is, well...he's MOZART!
Kathleen
I'm just teasing you guys........Mozart is indeed Mozart. That's how is mom recognized him in a crowd....lol.
best to all,
don, he who often listens to Water Music....
I'm just teasing you guys......
Aren't you always? :-)
yeppers......It's my job, without me shmooshing my way into these threads imagine the fun you would all be having....lol.
shmooshing. I look and look and can`t find that in my dictonary, it must be a Dr. Word? lol teach us oh great leader of the RU.
Too bad the arizonas don`t want to come, we have similar gardening climate etc. I tried too. Oh well , we will have fun with you guys "Representin The AZ".
Yes Virginia there is a Rosamond...
but where is Rosamond?
11 miles north of Lancaster on the 14fwy and 15 miles south of Mojave. It is the first town past the Los Angeles County line from the 14 and the first in Kern. population 14,000. It is a bedroom community. I can see the famous Willow Springs Raceway from my house and Tropico Gold Mine, it also has a feline breeding compound for exotic cats, but there is not much else.
ahhh... I thought that was the place.
Been there a couple of times (we had friends in that area)
So weather wise, you're like Apple Valley
very much so but they get more rain, like the IE. does.
Red Hot pokers and Mozart coming to the roundup.
Jo, I have been unable to identify the piece but have not given up yet.
P.S. the blue stripes were to seriously annoy my boss who thought I should be home having babies instead of taking a job away from a man. You could still get away with voicing that opinion in 1977. It washed out after about 3 days since I did not bleach my hair first. Why would I? LOL! (hellnzn11, my hair is quite light naturally and was even lighter before I turned 40)
And I've always been a blonde..........I could just never figure out how to get my hair the right color....
don, who has not a clue as to how to be a vet, but has some idea how to use Lemon-go-lightly.......I've been a blonde since I was 12, my hair just never caught up.
