Oops! I meant to ask: What zone are you?
Amazing how much 1 word changes the sentence!
Daily Musings - Page 6
We don`t have zones here.
We just have.
HOT, or I`m Going for a swim HOT.
I wondered what you were getting at Dave, but ginger doesn't get thrown that easily LOL
20 questions maybe? animal, vegetable, or mineral?
Thanks ginger. I really like the color on this one. I think it's my favorite of the ones I have.
Harper, that red is gorgeous! how on earth do you capture it with a digital camera? you either have a better camera that I do, or you know something I don't.
Gram, you can have some of Sarah's cookies, she got a huge box for Christmas.
I'll have the last Amaryllis to bloom, I plant mine on the first of the year. One must be on 'something' because it's like a rocket. I noticed new growth within 48 hours, it's already 18 inches tall. I'm not sure if it's a red one or the "Apple Blossom". I get lots of babies but don't keep track of which is which. Too lazy.
Sarah and I went for a short walk today, we both needed it. I got yelled at because this jerk didn't like her peeing on his tree. I paid him no mind but we will return and I'll see if I can coax Sarah to deposit something more substantial. lol.
This guy yelled at me a few years ago because my dog walked on his lawn. He keeps his German Shepherd in a small kennel in the back of the yard. Cold and lonely.
Stay warm.
Andy P
thanks, Sarah (nice of her to share)
What does everyone do with their beauties when they are done?
Anita, I let them grow. They go out in Spring then sleep in the Autumn.
yes, love cannas. I'm too lazy to grow them because in my zone they have to be dug and stored in the fall.
Gram: What are you?
I think Dave is still trying to cover his embarrassment.
Get over it Gig Boy. lol
Is Gig Boy an Aussie expression?
It is a term of endearment.
So yes it is 'an Aussie expression?'
Dave, I am the 'lazy gardener'
Gram, don't know if I'd call it lazy........smart maybe! I'm the dummy.....glads, cannas, callas, dalhia, peacock orchids, I plant them all. dig, dig, dig......watch them grow, dig, dig, dig some more! Pack em away and do it again another day!
Pixie, Peacock Orchids. Are those Acidenthera? Small, late, white/purple glads. I had them for many years, very nice in bouquets.
I store lots of bulbs and roots, too. Six boxes this year.
Andy P
Pixie, I knew them as 'Mock Orchids'. I received 5 as a mail order gift in another life. After about 10 years, they all died, I never figured out why.
Andy P
I agree that digging the bulbs/corms up is a pain, but so worth it in the long run. I've also replanted some of my dahlias without breaking up out the tubers and it's amazing how HUGE they get!
I've started Page 7 http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/686845/ so we can continue this there.
