With the Winter weather upon us, my Musings have been driven indoors. I have less Musings indoors. The original thread was started while sitting on the patio in the warm Summer months, listening to the great outdoors.
This is about small random thoughts that may otherwise go unnoticed.
Have you walked on the lawn at night when the dew has frozen? Crunchy ! The once level turf is now bumpy with small frost heaves. The sound of ice crystals at the edge of the pond on a windy day.
Here is a warm spot where Musings are easy. I PaintShopped Sidekick Sarah there to help.

Very nice!
I think Sarah just heard a rabbit!
PaintShop me in, too, would you, Andy, please? it looks perfect. right next to Sarah.
Hey, I never saw the link to this extension of musings...I've been posting in the last one, sorry! I tend to keep up with the threads that I've marked as 'watch' and don't look for new ones as regularly.
I can't believe that 2007 is here! Remember how crazy it was for 2000? It amazes me at how technology has changed over the years. What can we expect in the next 5 years alone!?
Hello everyone. I've been lurking a bit in this forum for a while so I thought I'd drop in and say hello and Happy New Year to everyone. Andy, I love your pictures of Sarah "musing". She seems like a wonderful friend and sidekick. I miss having a dog, but right now it just wouldn't be fair to the dog since I'm not home enough to give it the attention it deserves. Looks like your Sarah is very content and well-cared for.
Hello SongsofJoy, welcome and Happy New Year! No need to lurk, hop right in, we are a friendly bunch although a bit on the nutty side. Is it sleet & freezing rain in NH? It is here and what a mess!
Hi Pixie. It looks like it might be switching over to just rain here, but the roads are a slushy mess so we had some freezing rain during the night for sure. Kind of a dreary start to the new year, eh?
Welcome SongsofJoy! Happy New Year to you as well.
I am now enjoying my second cup of coffee - yummmmmmmm!
Just last night as I was looking outside (rain) I was getting the itch again to be outside gardening! I know I was getting a bit tired of it a few months ago but I hate been cooped up indoors....I would much rather be outside pulling out weeds and watching my flowers bloom.
Hello SongsofJoy - good way to start the New Year - it's is just raining here.
Want to share something I got from a dear friend, turn your speakers on and read some words of wisdom.

I have been a lurker and have enjoyed everyone's post. Use to post a lot awhile back but gardening took a back seat to barn building and pasture clearing. Now that is finished and I have 3 years of composted horse manure I am excited about gardening this spring. I have day lily beds, mixed perennial beds, veg garden {big plans this year} and my labor of love a woodlawn garden. I wish everyone a joyous and safe New Year
Welcome lurkers ! Doesn't it feel good to come out of the dark? Looking forward to sharing fun and friendship with you !!
I was so lazy this morning and stayed in my nightgown until noon, when my husband said to me, "Are you ever going to get dressed this year?" He's a card, that man.
Pixie,
We are lucky cause after all the sun shines on Maine 1st!
Welcome Lanie & Songs! Glad you "came out"
Dave

Al, aren't you the one that put her at the counter (desk)? lol.
oh yeah - now I remember!
How's Sarah's head today?
She looks great. Must of used that "hair of the dog that bit you" method for the morning after.
Hi, Songs & Lanie. Welcome!! you're going to like it here.
Al, That's the new behavior management technique that's been in all the psych. journals.

Al, geez, talk about a 'time out.' glad I'm not a BigCity kid ;0)

my kids understand what I'm doing now and then
My kids understand what I'm doing even when I don't.
Al, Could you put them online so they can explain you to the rest of us?
I'll protect their innocence for now.
Hi guys, been gone so long I had to search for you here! Here's my photo for today, a miniature amaryllis.

Hey Carrie! Good to see you back.
Hi Carrie. I planted my Amaryllis last Tuesday. Two of them are already sprouting.
Sarah meet a new dog yesterday. My best friends adopted an abused Lab pup 2 weeks ago. 8 months old and full of energy. They got along well but Sarah couldn't keep up with the faster Kobi. 45 minutes together was all she could take. Fortunately the weather was warm (near 70) so we could supervise them.
They both did a lot of running. When Kobi ran, Sarah chased. Her old broken leg bothered her later, second time this week.
PS, Kobi looks like Al's dog.

Carrie, it's pretty. how tall do the miniatures get?
Poor Sarah. At least she tried and got a good workout to boot.
