I think a cyber year seems longer because these are people we interact with every day. I joined in later in February and it is much more friendly than the other regional forum I'm in.

I've noticed that since Andy's idea about 'most recent posts' was implemented, more people are contributing to different forums. I know I have.

I don't know what Al's problem is. I've been invited back to several new regional forums.

I've been offered a hefty retainer to return to other forums but I like you guys. I figure "what's money compared to good buds (Ginger, that's mates)

I found the founding thread. I requested a NE forum on Jan. 24 and on Jan. 28, Terry granted it. Initial posters were Andy, Anita, Ivy1,Dena (Grenthumbs), mayflrhem, buginthegarden, Pirl and me. Soon we were joined by our friend from WI.
Lots of great additions since and, unfortunately, a few disappearances from some great regulars. Beside Dena, we had 2 professors. One from W. VA and one from New Haven (Meg?) Can someone remind me of their names? Anyone heard from them?

Dave, If you remember correctly. I was against this forum, that's why I was deleted.

Was that the story Andy? Ha - I didn't know that. Have you changed your mind yet?

Dave - I think it was later in Feb. that I came in with some Dena racoon post.

Andy, That was before we had a forum. (I requested and some folks were posting against the idea. Terry (Admin) zapped the negative posts to give me a shot at getting the 10 people then required to start a forum.) You jumped right in after it was granted and we are all glad you did.

Andy, just curious. why were you against starting a regional NE forum?

I for one am glad we have it. I've been busy lately, but I love you guys! If I'm not posting, then I'm definitely lurking!

I thought we were getting splintered and isolated with all the 'regionals'.
That was around the time where we lost the "New Post' feature on our home page. Double whammy for isolation.
Fortunately, we got a trimmed down version of New Posts back. In large part because of you NEers support.

I don't mind it. I don't think I've gotten in any trouble for popping in out of nowhere, but I do pick my spots and make sure I follow the thread.

OF COURSE we have mountains here. They're very old mountains, so they're easy to climb. More like big hills. So, if you get lost in the woods (or 'bush'), you can yell your little strange call and no one will come. They might walk past you, giving you a wide berth, thinking you've lost your mind.
