Thanks for that definition Yankee. Honestly, I had no idea what a petard was. Truth comes out...
Dave, I'm printing out the one from MT's wall. Too good not to read everyday.

Do you have a favorite quote or saying?
This is posted in my office for students to see: Your failure to plan does not constitute a crisis on my part.
solves a lot of arguments:-)

Hamlet was catching Rosencrantz and Gildenstern with the figurative bomb they had set for him.
Now my life is complete! Thanks! That one petarded my mind!
Thank you Dave, I was searching my limited mind for the original of the quote
heard one today = No matter how paranoid you are, you aren't paranoid enough.
Blooms, These days, instead of seaching my mind I search the internet!
Hey, that could almost be a quote!
Dave....it is a quote, a Dave47 quote to be exact.
Hope I don't offend anyone here but DSIL sent me a bunch of Christian one liners and these 2 made me chuckle.
#1
The good Lord didn't create anything
without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close
#2
Don't let your worries get the
best of you;
remember, Moses started
out as a basket case
Those are cute, pixie
Dave, I like that. if we repeat it enough and start a chain of e-mails you could be famous. people will be talking about that dave47 with the petarded mind everywhere LOL
saw this on a bumper sticker:
"If you're NOT worried
You're not paying attention."

Gram! Are you saying I'm petarded?!
yes, Dave, I am.
I'm not petarded! Just a little delayed.
So some day you will be petarded?
Hey, I've gotten away with delayed for 52 years and I'm sticking to it!
see, I knew you were petarded ;0)
Hi, ginger here. I know I`m a long way from home.
But I would like to add a Few Ozzie sayings if I may ?
Appears to be no objections.
So here goes:
OnyaaM8
Big things from little things grow..
"Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see." Mark Twain.
I will add some more ozzie ones if I am allowed.
I couldn`t resist that last one even though it is not an Ozzie one.
I use that as my signature on another site.

Hi Ginger! Welcome, and no objections here. My Brother is living in AU right at the moment, but don't ask me where....I can never keep track of him!
Ginger, you're going to have to translate the first one for me (I'm a little dense sometimes)
I get the M8 part
love to hear more Ozzie ones :0)
Pix, I didn't know you had a brother in AU. the tumbleweed in the family?
He retired from the Marines 2 years ago. He is (was) a Lt. Colonel and had been in the Marine's for over 35 years, so traveling is natural for him. When he retired he couldn't sit still and had a bigger pension then he knew what to do with, so he travels. He visits friends in Japan (he spent a total of 13-17 years there) friends in Aust. where he was introduced to a girl named Crystal. Now you know why he's still in Aust. LOL, he has family in Tenn., Maine, Maryland, and Arizona......but we haven't seen him much since he met Crystal!!
A friend who lived in Oz for a few years brought back with her the lovely saying:
"...as useless as a chocolate teapot."
From a dear ex-neighbor, I learned to say to visitors who stayed too long: "Bless your backs!".
She also introduced me to: "It's time for a brisk sit!"
Good ones, June! especially the 'Bless your backs!'
Pix..you may never see your bro again, unless you want to take a looooooong trip. Hope you have a picture ;0)
But make no mistake: the weeds will win; nature bats last. ~Robert M. Pyle
Love that one Pirl!
Welcome June and ginger. You don't really have to stretch to have Ontario in the northeast and if you keep going in that direction, I think we would include Australia! Glad to have you.
How about: "Because a mime is a terrible thing to waste"

Thank you for your words of welcome.
It is Sunday 4 am. My day beging here.
To explain OnjaaM8.
'Good on you mate.'
Here is another.
Youth is Wasted on the Young.
We're burning daylight (John Wayne in 'The Cowboys')
I only thought of that one because Ginger is up and posting at 4am.
gram
oh, heck, I was gonna guess "Good on ya, mate."
Gram, Ginger is in Australia, not only is the time different, she's on a different day. LOL
We just Love all the old John Wayne Movies over here.
Ginger is in Australia, not only is the time different, she's on a different day. LOL
I should first have introduced my self.
I am a 59 + male retiree.
Love gardening. And a puter nutter.
Here in Aus , If you have red hair ,
Your nick name is automatically Ginger.
The 749 is my Ducati.
I guess I should have started a new thread and introduced my self.
Oh well, its done now.
No sweat Ginger. You didn't need to start a new thread. Jump right in! Welcome! Cop a squat.

Thank you Sofonisba.
I just Love this Pic. http://davesgarden.com/photo.php?member=Sofonisba
Is that tortured willow behind the flowers ?
Puter nutter?
Nuts about Computers. lol
Oh. Thanks for the translation - my Aussie is really rusty - OK - it is non-existent. Did you hear that someone in our neck of the woods got their headlamp bashed in by a Wallaby last week?
What was a Wallaby doing in Connecticut?
People keep them as pets! Imagine that. I have enough trouble trying to keep Wallingford (the evil cat) from jumping on the counters - - -
"Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry. I mean I'd love to be skinny like that, but not with all those flies and death and stuff."
--Mariah Carey
Do they potty train well?
Here's one of my favorites, by Benjamin Franklin:
"Common sense is not sense that is common.
It is sense in common things."
There seems to be a dearth of it nowadays.
"Television commercials show you how laundry detergent takes out bloodstains. I think that if you've got a tee shirt with bloodstains all over it, maybe your laundry isn't your biggest problem."
~ Jerry Seinfeld
According to the person the news interviewed about their pet wallabys - they potty train to a litter box.
