I thought it would be fun to end/or start the year out with our favorite quotes or saying's. They can be from the present, or an old fashioned one Gramma used to say. I think we have some extrodinary people here that frequent the N.E. forum and I have a feeling this could be interesting! LOL
OK..2 of my favorites are :
Life saying:
There'll be two dates on your tombstone
And all your friends will read 'em
But all that's gonna matter is that little dash between 'em”
Gardening saying:
In the corner of my garden,
where the wildflowers grow.
I sit and admire
how God has graced us so.
Happy New Year's everyone!!
Do you have a favorite quote or saying?
Gram, reminds me of my Grandfather's:
Good bread, good meat
Good gosh lets eat!
One of my all-time favorites is by Margaret Meade:
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.
Happy, healthy, New Year to all.
"Age is not important unless you're a cheese."

Sorry about that. I guess my cat must have walked on the keyboard.LOL
I have one that does the same thing.
Found another one I like:
A man only becomes wise when he begins to calculate the approximate depth of his ignorance.
Lucy to Charlie Brown...
"life is tough, wear a helmet!"
So thats my problem.....no helment. Thanks Kassia!
"May the fickle finger of fate forever favour you"
ooohhh! thats a tongue twister if I ever saw one! Try that one after a cocktail. LOL
Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get
If you get lemons, make lemonade
God is good, God is great
Let us praise him, do not wait!
I like reading these.

It isn't only the New Year for me but also my Birthday! My Birthday is January 1st yay!!! I was the first baby of the year back in 1974 in my city :)
Dawn....Happy Birthday!!!
DG's birthday is tomorrow too. She was the first one born Jan. 1st, 1999 in our area of Maine. Even made the front page of the local newspaper!
Happy Birthday to Dawn and Pixie's DG!!
If you don't know where you're going, any way is the right direction.
Well Celeste I know you want something insightful but oh well
"I must only use these powers to annoy" bart simpson
"you can't have everything, where would you put it?"
"the truth is always the safest lie" mark twain
"I know they're out there, because I can't see them" me

From the Joanie Mitchell song, Woodstock. "We are stardust, we are golden,
We caught up in the devil's bargain
And we got to get ourselves
Back to the garden."

I snuck into this thread from the West Coast...is that OK??? LOL
My favorite is: "Where there's a WILL...there's a RELATIVE".
This is the quote I had put on my checks.....
Four wheels move the body
Two wheels move the soul
~Julie =0)
And of course I have a little graphic of a motorcycle by my name to finish the effect.....
Jasper, the more the merrier! Welcome, please feel free to add more!
Julie, I really like that saying, although I'm more of a 4 wheel kind a girl. (as in a Yamaha Rhino 660)
Aim for the moon, and if you miss it, you'll still be among the stars.
Nancy...how true and a very opptimistic way to start the New Year!
Let's also make a New Years resolution to pay compliments when and wherever they come to us...
Pixie, I've always thought you are a very sweet lady, and I always imagine you with a smile.
Here's one I read recently that I thought was great:
"When the game is over, the king and the pawn go back into the same box"
Nancy, thank you so much for the compliment! Not always smiling but I do have more laugh lines than frown lines and thats a plus! I think you are a very imaginative and talented lady who has a beautiful heart of gold.
It is a bit strange, our internet friendships. I feel that I know many of you through posts. However, there must be nuances that don't make it through the keyboard. For example, I'm much funnier in person.
Oh my! I don't know if I could stand you any funnier. You didn't mean to look at, did you?
Between you and Al, I feel very entertained in this forum. You're two of my favorite DGers.
(edit : I had to fix my mis-spelling before Al sees it. You know how he gets.)

Both!
Thank you so much. You are one of my favorites too! Your intelligence & spirituality always show.
I sense a group hug here. Thank you Pixie and Dave.
As a farmer's daughter and now a banker. I have heard this in the South quite often.
He has enough money to burn a wet mule!
If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.
Don't count your chickens before they hatch.
You know how he gets
who me?
thanks Nancy, it's nice to be around a group of people that accept you as you are
50 isn't old if your a tree
I have two that come to mind:
"If it ain't broke don't fix it."
"It ain't a wonder it works so poorly, the wonder is it works at all.
ok, how about if you try to say something and it comes out wrong??? I do that all the time... and since English is my 2nd language I have come out with some sayings that makes my co workers really pick on me...
last week I told one of them ":loosing that money trew me out of the loop".... she looked at me like if I had 3 heads... and laugh very hard...
another ocasion instead of saying Zip it and told the person to Zit it... needless to say they could not stop laughing!!!
I have to laugh at myself... no point in leaving my friends laughing alone!!!!
funny Kass
Blooms - when I work in the shop on equipment during the winter we always say " if it's not broke - we can still fix it"
