Do you have a favorite quote or saying?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I thought it would be fun to end/or start the year out with our favorite quotes or saying's. They can be from the present, or an old fashioned one Gramma used to say. I think we have some extrodinary people here that frequent the N.E. forum and I have a feeling this could be interesting! LOL
OK..2 of my favorites are :
Life saying:
There'll be two dates on your tombstone
And all your friends will read 'em
But all that's gonna matter is that little dash between 'em”

Gardening saying:
In the corner of my garden,
where the wildflowers grow.
I sit and admire
how God has graced us so.

Happy New Year's everyone!!

rub-a-dub-dub
hooray for the grub

hope that doesn't offend anyone...always thought it was really short and to the point :0)

Best of everything in the New Year to the best gardening friends around!

Gram, reminds me of my Grandfather's:
Good bread, good meat
Good gosh lets eat!

One of my all-time favorites is by Margaret Meade:
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

Happy, healthy, New Year to all.

This is the quote I had put on my checks.....

Four wheels move the body
Two wheels move the soul

~Julie =0)

And of course I have a little graphic of a motorcycle by my name to finish the effect.....

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Jasper, the more the merrier! Welcome, please feel free to add more!
Julie, I really like that saying, although I'm more of a 4 wheel kind a girl. (as in a Yamaha Rhino 660)

Aim for the moon, and if you miss it, you'll still be among the stars.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Nancy...how true and a very opptimistic way to start the New Year!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Let's also make a New Years resolution to pay compliments when and wherever they come to us...

Pixie, I've always thought you are a very sweet lady, and I always imagine you with a smile.

New Hampshire, NH(Zone 5b)

Here's one I read recently that I thought was great:

"When the game is over, the king and the pawn go back into the same box"

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Nancy, thank you so much for the compliment! Not always smiling but I do have more laugh lines than frown lines and thats a plus! I think you are a very imaginative and talented lady who has a beautiful heart of gold.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

It is a bit strange, our internet friendships. I feel that I know many of you through posts. However, there must be nuances that don't make it through the keyboard. For example, I'm much funnier in person.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Oh my! I don't know if I could stand you any funnier. You didn't mean to look at, did you?

Between you and Al, I feel very entertained in this forum. You're two of my favorite DGers.

(edit : I had to fix my mis-spelling before Al sees it. You know how he gets.)

"It ain't a wonder it works so poorly, the wonder is it works at all.

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

ok, how about if you try to say something and it comes out wrong??? I do that all the time... and since English is my 2nd language I have come out with some sayings that makes my co workers really pick on me...

last week I told one of them ":loosing that money trew me out of the loop".... she looked at me like if I had 3 heads... and laugh very hard...

another ocasion instead of saying Zip it and told the person to Zit it... needless to say they could not stop laughing!!!

I have to laugh at myself... no point in leaving my friends laughing alone!!!!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

funny Kass

Blooms - when I work in the shop on equipment during the winter we always say " if it's not broke - we can still fix it"
