Nancy

Kalama, WA(Zone 8b)

I've noticed it on a lot of people's seed want lists. So there are a lot of people that don't know.
I'll have to see about making some cuttings and/or dividing my tubers so I can trade them this spring.

Joy

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Save me a couple Joy, would love to add that to the rest of my cosmos :o)

Connie

Northeast, NE(Zone 5a)

Joy could you save me a couple too if possible?Hopefully I will have something to tempt you with this spring. My life would be complete if I could *finally* get some! LOL : ) Nancy

Kalama, WA(Zone 8b)

I'll see what I can do. Unlike the other cosmos, it's perennial. But a tender perennial. I've tried growing them year round outside here in zone 8b but lost them everytime. Probably more because it was constantly wet rather than because of the cold. We are very wet here in the winter. I think their tubers just rotted in the ground.
Now I grow it in a pot and winter it over in an unheated shed every winter and haven't lost one sense.
I'll let you know if I have success dividing or taking cuttings this spring.

Joy

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Thanks Joy :o)

Okay I got a problem lol, like what else is new right? lol Don't answer that hahahaha

Anyway one of you wanted seeds for a Firebush, who was it? I have searched my papers so much my eyes are crossing... xo) lol I have a few seeds from my burning bush, would this be the same thing? If so I can send the person who is wanting the Firebush these...

PLMK SOON *grin*

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Barb this is what one of my burning bushes looks like. http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=2804093 Is this what you are looking for?

Connie

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

Winterville, GA(Zone 8a)

Connie,
A while back you had asked me for some Indian Hawthorn seeds and I finally mailed them out yesterday.

JoAnn

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

BarbAll I know is it is called a Dwarf Burning Bush, I had the tag on it, but now I can't find it :( I swear I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached ;-}

Great JoAnn Will let you know when they arrive :o)

Well I got to the post office, but the only one I got to mail was Lelan's lol... Hope he likes what we all sent... I will get all of them mailed out on Wednesday next year, ewww still sends shivers down my spine to think 2007 is this close... 2006 went way to fast..

DH and I was just walking out back checking things over, and my Lilac bush has buds on it, so do a few other plants and some of my seeds are starting to grow :( This Michigan weather has them all so confused, and I better not LOSE my lilac bushes... I can already tell I am really really going to have my hands full come this spring. Tell me, is WINTER ever going to get here? lol

Happy New Year everybody.

Connie

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

oh, don't even say that thing about the "w" word. ...........you know another word for it IS a 4 letter word (cold). i've already had enough. lol. my friends up there garden when it's 40 and say how nice it was to get outside. really laughing out loud. i am not woman enough. so you ladies who can do that have some real big ovaries.

La Salle, MI(Zone 5b)

Ok I got every one matched up as best as I could... Some of you might be a little disappointed because maybe only 1 or 2 of your wants were met, others will be over joyed, because most of theirs were. But all in all I think you all will be pleased with what you get *grin* except of course those that do get their own back... There are lots and lots of seed to split, I have no clue who has sent what at this point (just a few) so if some of you get your own seeds back, DON"T BLAME ME :o)

I will have these all done and ready to go in the mail on Wednesday :o) And I will be sooooo happy... There are a couple of envelopes I will be replacing, because the ones sent are just way to big :o)... Got a busy weekend coming up, so if you all don't here from me, I hope you all have

A HAPPY & SAFE NEW YEARS ;o)

Hart Would it be ok to plant those red bud seeds now??? Shoud I just put them in a container and stick them out side or in the fridge???

I can't believe our weather here, My lilac bushes have buds on them and a few others too. Some of my plants are coming back up and Kens climbing Roses are starting to bud again...

So I don't know if I am going to get to winter sow or not :(

Happy New Year

Connie

Shenandoah Valley, VA

Yes, you can plant the redbud seeds now and I'd just put them in a pot and leave that in a somewhat protected spot outside. The refrigerator is just replicating the weeks of cold temps they would get outside.

Okay, everyone, stop freaking out over a winter warm spell. LOL We get these all the time in Virginia and our shrubs and bulbs and perennials don't die from it. At the very worst, you might lose a few blooms but most of the time I see bloom loss from late spring cold snaps more than warm spells in winter.

Don't forget it's also normal for some shrubs and trees to have leaf buds in the winter.

This swap has been so much fun. I can't wait for the packet to arrive. I hope everyone enjoys the seeds I sent.

Happy Birthday Brenda. Hope you have a wonderful day and year.
Wasn't there another one of us on this swap with a birthday today?

Barb, I was lucky in that I had a Grandmother who's birthday was Dec. 11th so her Christmas and birthday was always combined. So she made sure that my birthday was always separate from Christmas and I always got good birthday presents and my special day.

Joy

Austell, GA(Zone 7a)
