Coffee, Latte or Tea?

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

It must be the pastor's curse! Growing up, our Pastor's children [he had 6] were always in some sort of trouble. The Pastor himself was a bit of a trouble maker. We would make our annual Youth Group trip to the City to see the Tree and store windows and he would stand at the bottom of the building in Rockefeller Center and just look up. Once there was a sufficient enough crowd who were also looking up, he would say, "ok, let's go."

Dave - I don't know why this photo reminds me of you, but it's funny anyways

I actually think Al's nephew looks like he has some Al in him LOL. Daughter's growing up there, Al. Pretty daughter...trouble for Dad.

pirl, I think that pic of Charlie is best Christmas photo I've seen, hands down. he's adorable!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks, gram, and I took it!

Al's nephew does have that strong family resemblance!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

If I'm getting this right....Al's DN has the hint of the devil in him BECAUSE he's the pastor's son (curse) and looks like Al.
No Pastor in the family but DS looks just like DH and DH thinks he must of been the equivilant to a Tony Stewart in a past life. For this reason I don't often go with him on long trips. My nerves simply can't take it, so by the time I get to N.Y. in May I ought to be quite frazzeled!

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

pix, wear a pair of headphones with very soothing music, close your eyes and pretend your're somewhere else. then by the time you get here, you WILL be somewhere else!

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Al, it almost looks as if your son is waiting for the ball to leap from the gutter?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Anita - that's what I thought too.LOL He did throw some nongutterballs, but was happier to bowl as fast as he could.

On a different note I did finish my homework today as I went down to the lake to see a Slatey Backed Gull(one of the few sighting in North America). I got a (poor) photo of an eagle.

Is that a Bald Eagle? Looks like it. I've never seen one in the wild - only at the zoo.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

That's a bald eagle - beyond my camera's zoom. We have quite a few around here and now and then they fly over our house. The widened river(lake) has open water most of the year which they like.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Al - if you enjoy birds and people who've made a difference by protecting them, you might enjoying visiting Mary Majka at Mary's Point, New Brunswick. She's such a sweet person. Here's the story: http://www.gulfofmaine.org/times/winter2001/majka_and_christie.html

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

I'd settle for a poor sighting of an eagle without the pic. That's great, Al. I have seen them, but only on trips.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Well just do wider circles as you go around my house and maybe you'll have a chance. They have about 2 years left on the pcb removal project on that lake so that might help some for the future. Kids like seeing the pelicans there during the summer.

Pirl - I have been to Maine at least.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Al, Your son throwing a gutter ball reminds you of me??

Your brother is a paster? Will he be allowed to use glue when he gets more profficient? (Couldn't let you pass with that typo. God knows you wouldn't)

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I bet the devil made you do it, Dave!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Dave - I'm not religious, I am more familiar with pasteur.

Something about being stuck in a gutter with a long ways to go.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Ah! Nothing like that Holiday spirit.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Just part of Festivus and the airing of grievences.

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm for Al doing the feats of strength...how about lifting of the fork to the mouth? or maybe lifting of the foot to the mouth? btw, if I look up for the eagles while I'm circling, I'll probably run into a tree.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I hope Dave doesn't have a grievance about words spelled wrong.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

that's about enough of you ma'am

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Wow! Guess the Women's Liberation movement hasn't hit Wisconsin!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Has Mrs. Bigcity hit Al yet?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Ha! I'm undefeated.

Maybe I should respect my (very) elders.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Old Menasha Native American saying: He who hides on roof seldom gets hit.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

It was tough hiding on the roof of a teepee.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

we could just have a good old fashioned rock fight

How's it going Harper?

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Oh, just dandy. I should be asleep. Can't sleep. I just saw one of the best filmed concerts I've ever seen. I'm usually not a concert goer in general, much less watcher of one on TV. This one really impressed me. It was Roy Orbison's Black and White Night.

I guess I'll go to sleep soon.

see youse guys,
Harper

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Roy Orbison...now that's a name I've not heard of in a while.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)
