Here's the next one. What is the name of this beach?
Where Am I? - A Fun Game (I hope)
Tomales? Home of the San Andreas Fault?
Well, I think it's on the west coast, somewhere. Most of the east coast doesn't look like that...well maybe up around ME.
I'm gonna guess ~ northern California....Shelter Cove?
Tomales - no
west coast - yes
northern California - no
Is it in Oregon?
Is it Wedderburn,Or.?
No, not anywhere in Oregon.
Washington? then? Where ever it is, it's beautiful! And I wanna go there. :-))
No, not Washington. Go south.
Right.. So it is in California, just not northern California?
Correct
By that I am assuming (& we all know what "assume" means!) that this lovely place is south of Fort Bragg.
How about ... ummm...Stewarts Point?
Way, way south of Fort Bragg
Stewarts Point? - no
North of Santa Barbara?
How about Ragged Point? Am I getting warmer or did I go too far?
North of Santa Barbara? - no
Ragged Point? - no
Santa Barbara is the closest guess so far.
Catalina Island?
North of San Diego?
Catalina? - No
North of San Diego? - Yes
North of Long Beach?
Encinatas?
North of Long Beach, north of Encinitas.
Hint: Think about what "not north of Santa Barbara" really means and what it doesn't mean.

Well I have been following along, maybe I can get one right hehe
Butterfly Beach
Carpentiria Beach
El Capitan Beach
East Beach
Refugio Beach
Miramar Beach
All beaches in Santa Barbara. I dont know if there is a beach called Rocky Beach or if that person used the words just for description of how the beach was.
Janett
It is Refugio Beach, which is not north of Santa Barbara, nor is it south of Santa Barbara. http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=34.4671&lon=-120.06322&size=l&u=4&datum=nad27&layer=DRG
Legend has it that in the early 1800s, a tsunami carried a ship up into Refugio Canyon and back down again. There is no other account of the tsunami, so the tsunami isn't given much credence.
yipee I got one even thoe I havent posted earlier. payes to have a childhood friend whos aunts (2) lived there for many years, one still do. I listed all beaches but though Refugio or Miramar as they where the only ones I could find any rocks on. There is an old cactus in Santa Barbara that has my friends name her mothers name and the two aunts if the Cactus still is there but it was a huge cactus and very old outside some resturant.
Janett
I am not familiar with the cactus, but there is a section of town that is really old (by western U.S. standards) and still has some buildings that were built around 1820. Those buildings now house stores and retaurants, so maybe the cactus was there.
BTW, in case anyone is wondering, Refugio comes from the name Nuestra Senora del Refugio (Our Lady of Refuge), and old Spanish land grant in the area. Can you imagine owning 40,000 acres or more of California oceanfront real estate?

Red mountain,Colorade?
Janett
No, not Colorado
How about...Los Padres National Forest?
Is it part of the Cascade Range? Is it in California?
No, not Los Padres, not Hawaii, not the Cascade Range, not in California
Oregon?
Nevada?
The Appalacians or Cascades?
Not, Oregon, not Utah, not Nevada, not the Appalacians or Cascades. The closest guess has been Colorado, and that still isn't very close.
No, not Canada. It is in the U.S.
