When you get your Christmas tree up, post pictures!

Yep, bubble lights they are! We found our tree, some ornaments and an old set at a yard sale last July and bought two new sets of bubble lights to go with them. We're down to two strands and one spare bulb at this point.

GW, meant to add that seeing the bubble lights on your tree sent me searching for bubble lights. I'll be at my sister's for Christmas and I'm pretty sure her daughter has never seen them!

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

We found them at Walmart last year. They seem to be popualar again. I really like them allthough I never had them as a kid. Then again when it comes to Christmas I am still a kid.

Thanks, Darius. We've seen the 2-pack replacement bulb packs at Wal-Mart for $4 and some change -- just pricey for two bulbs. They seem to burn out pretty quickly, unfortunately. It's too bad they're not made so you can put a regular little bulb in the base and that could heat the liquid in the candle part.

Well, poop. My link didn't have the replacement bulbs and I didn't bookmark it. Sorry.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

It did -- they want $7.35 for a 2/pk.

Ouch!

Knoxville, TN(Zone 7a)

darius, rather than spend a wad of money on a whole tree of these, I bought a couple of bulbs and put them in nightlight bases. They make neat Christmas nightlights!

Thanks, Nat. Good suggestion, esp. for the Holidays!

GW, do a Froogle search for the bulbs. BTW, I went to a restaurant in Orlando several years ago that was decorated inside with perhaps several hundred strings of bubble lights. : )

All right daylily - that did it! I have a *lot* of cookie cutters and a collection of tea balls and this year they are going on a tree!! I'll have a great time digging things out of cabinets and off of shelves to go on with them! Yours is so cute! Thanks for the idea. Mine won't be as neat as yours, but it will sure be fun to put together.

Joan, your house and decorations look fabulous, I especially like the bears.

Anne, please tell Henry that I think he did a marvelous job. I love the shape of that tree and I don't think it looks bare, it is very pretty. Of course, if it bothers you, go buy more ornaments, oooooohhh decoration shopping! fun, fun, fun!

mag, I love your tree. It's real isn't it? If not, it sure looks like it is. Makes me wish for a real tree. Your tree reminds me of the trees we had when our kids were young. Sigh, I wish for those days again, with a child decorated tree.

Anne, I would like to know....why are there no ornaments on the bottom of your tree? Hmmm? Henry is old enough to not mess with them. I wonder what your worries are? LOL

Great trees everyone. I always look forward to this thread every year. My little office tree was a success. All the women said it was cute and the men made fun of me. I don't worry about that I love Christmas and love all the decorations. I tell the guys there just jealous because they don't have one. LOL

I really like the idea of many little trees versus one big one....Or maybe one big one AND many little ones. :) Here's our home office's tree:

I am having a terrible time getting into the Christmas spirit this year, even with the kids. I feel like just crawling in a hole, or maybe Skillet would share her couch with me.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Oh, man....thanks guys. Now I want a little tree in my home office. And I thought I was done decorating. LOL

But, I have a little tree in storage, so I'm off now to get it and put it up. But the question is...where do I put it??? My home office is a disaster area.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Okay, I dug it out and threw it together. It needs some major attention and fixing, but I'll do that tomorrow night. LOL At least it's up, and I will fix it since it's in my line of sight every night.

After seeing everyone's pictures of trees in their home offices and by their computers, I just had to do this tonight.

Now I've got to deal with the pile of stuff I threw out of the way to make room for this tree. ;)

Looks good Joan. I love having trees all over.

What's up, Debbie? There's so much to be happy about.

Lyndonville, NY

Nap, I am one of those people that has a hard time during the holidays. This year is hitting me big time, a lot of changes in the family and some very sad losses.

Seems every time Shannon gets a bad flare up with her health it is the holidays, so I get over precautious waiting for something to happen, I guess it is a mothers instinct.

I always try and look for the positive and move on, sometimes it is just harder than other. And yes, there is so much to be happy about.
Thanks for asking! And aren't you glad the snow melted for now?

Here is my little tree. With a new puppy this year I decided to buy a cheap little four ft tree and plastic ornaments and put it where he "maybe" can't carry it through the house. I felt like the big one would be a disaster and many of my old glass ornaments would get broken. It is a little lopsided on top but the kitty will take care of that I am sure.

Ugh... you guys are killing me here! :) Last year, I had the novelty of vaulted ceilings in my new apartment, so I went up to the forest and cut down a tree I thought was about 6 feet.. little tip: They look smaller in the forest! LOL :) I trimmed it shorter twice and ended up about 11 feet! :) oops hehe, it was beautiful and smelled sooo good! I want to get another one this year, but think I will stay around 6 feet at a maximum... maybe 4 or 5 even. It's so much easier to get a small tree out of the apartment. Last year I ended up throwing it down the three stories over the balcony! hehe :)

I usually like to put it up around now, but I don't think I'll have the money until the 15th... forced delay, I suppose. Until then, I'll be watching this thread for more inspiration! Everything looks GREAT!

All the trees are just great. Such talent among us. I love the trees that kids decorated and with stuff from their childhood. My trees up until a few years ago where like that. With ornaments the kids had made or my my girl scout troops had made for me over the years. Those are the special trees.

This year I got the tree up lights on and it sat and waited for somebody to decorate it. My little garden helper, I am sure you have seen in post wanted to come over. So we cranked up the Christmas Carols and she decorated the tree. I had so much fun it's been along time since I had a little one around to decorate a tree with. I was thanking her for decorating my tree for me when she was leaving and she said "It's your prettiest tree ever" out of the mouths of babes huh? lol

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

We have a two year old who loves to get into EVERYTHING, so I didn't think putting my DH's mother's ancient glass ornaments was a good idea this year. I break enough of them every year on my own - I sure don't need help! So the 4 year old helped me hang little toys and paper ornaments on the tree. I put a few of our less breakable ornaments at the top. I think it looks pretty good, all things considered. :-) The 2 year old keeps liberating her little friends from the branches, so there aren't quite as many critters on there as there were a couple of days ago.

Got the tree itself up and the lights on, but just starting on the ornaments.
