Coffee and...Part 42...! :-D
Morning GOBs. Slept good. Couches went over to the kids' new place last night...one couch had to go in through a window, lucky it was a big double slider and could be taken apart easily and put back together after. Sure didn't want to bring it that couch home and try to find another taker! Living room is bare, and has dents in the carpet where the furniture sat. I put ice cubes in the dents, which I saw them do on one of those sell-your-house programs, and the new stuff should be here later today. We used the stores finance program which netted us a 10% discount and no interest for six months.
As a result of the financing, we got five letters from the credit co. the store uses. One to say I was turned down due to duplicate application, (?), one to say my DH had applied for credit, one to DH to say I applied for credit, and one to approve the credit, and another to inform me that if I paid it off early, interest would apply. That's almost two bucks in postage, and they are still making money on a no interest loan? Go figure. I could have paid cash. LOL
I couldn't live with my sister either. We have totally different ways of doing things. She's a ball of fire in the morning, gets her dinner plans in place before breakfast, whips around, does her chores, is very rigid in her opinions, hates computers, politically opposite to me, and she's bossy, besides! A week would be my max. I'm up early, but need my DG fix with my coffee, do chores when I feel like it, think about dinner an hour before I have to make it (on a good day!) keep an open mind about most topics and am always willing to listen, and have a small circle of long time friends rather than just bridge or golf acquaintances.
Yum, those hush puppies and baked potatoes sound super. I like them both, can I have some? And tomato soup, I could get out my 1955 Betty Crocker book and look that one up! I still use that book often and have tabbed the pages for the recipes I use most often, since I don't trust my memory.
Maria's feeling better, Darius is on the move again, Carat's offer has been accepted, Bal's puppy is getting housebroken, and hi to everyone else, what a cheery morning!
Kohl's is everywhere now...started with the Kohl family in Wisconsin, who had a large chain of supermarkets and then branched out into department stores. Gradually expanded out of state and now are popping up everywhere. Supermarkets are long gone. The millionaire, Herb Kohl, is one of the WI senators, and owns (but no longer runs) the Milwaukee Bucks basketball team. They have sales all the time, if you see something and want it, and it 's not on sale, wait a week or two. Most of my clothes are casual, so I often find things there that I like.
Here's the vast wasteland, I'll do another when the cushy stuff arrives! The little cat puppet hanging over the fireplace was a funny gift, from DIL and that was the safest place to keep it from being mauled, without tangling the strings!
A very, very nice pleasing room, M5
Interesting about the Kohl Family, had not idea about them except it is a german name translated 'cabbage'

Thanks Maria, the chair by the window is going to go away, Max has shredded the upholstery........another reason he is going to go live with his original owner, DS very soon. The dents in the carpet are disappearing just in time for new ones........who'da thunk ice cubes? I've heard steaming will raise the nap, but I'm leery of using a steam iron over manmade fibers, I'd probably just melt a big hole.
My bedrooms are carpeted, am so glad to know about the ice cubes though I don't move much furmiture around buy when vacuum I see the identations from chairs and tables. How long to you leave the cube on, M5?
