The only tradition that we are following this year is my daughter will have turkey and gravy for breakfast the day after. The rest is up in the air. I am just not in the holiday mood this year.

Actually, this year is going to be very calm. My family is gathering in Wisconsin where my mom's family lives. My dh's family is gathering at his brother's house in North Carolina. We were supposed to go to Wisconsin, but there was a scheduling oops at my dh's work and he can't get off. So we are going to hang out at home and eat whatever sounds good at the time. We may have turkey just because it is cheap right now, but we are just as likely to have spaghetti. We have a lot to be thankful for. :-)

oh trois - eating too much, inadvertantly insulting the cook by not eating enough,
eating the last of someone else's favorite dish etc etc etc. There's LOTS to
STRESS about in the eating of Thanksgiving Dinner. And then... the STRESS
level goes up from there if you are a cook, THE cook, the host, the host of overnight
guests etc etc etc.

:-)

I love Thanksgiving and am just delighted I am hosting this year. But I manage to
get all stressed that the dishes won't all be ready at the same time or that there
won't be enough of what everyone likes. (Last year I made: (2) pumpkin pies,
a pecan pie, an apple pie and a Pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. For 7 people.
Guess what? I had a few leftovers. LOL

If someone leaves a little bit of something so they won't take the last bit, I figure it's for me. I eat it.

I can make myself blu over an all you can eat sea food place too. Did once....... but it was crab legs. Like 8 pounds. You have to understand, at the time, I weighed maybe 110 pounds...... and I'm 6 feet tall :)

T-shirt update:

Well, I have bad news about getting the DG T-shirts modified. Dave checked on costs and the place wanted $100 plus for set-up and the $4 a shirt to put "blu" on the sleeve :( So it's a wash.

THe good news is that there are plenty of DG shirts left if someone just wants one :)

I was wondering though..I have seen those iron on transfers that you can do on the computer. Has anyone had good luck with those> do they look nice, hold up well, etc? If they did and we could agree on a font we could all just do our own matching "blu" shirts

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

How do you get the T-shirt into the computer?

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

lol

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

I'm serious!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Trois, you print the pattern (in this case "blu cru" or some such silliness) onto transfer paper and then iron it on the shirt. I have heard that there is some kind of fabric you can put into an ink jet printer, though.

Oklahoma City, OK

sure curious about printing the iron transfer things too. thot about doing sev times but kinda like someone else to go first. anybody?...done that?

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

I will see what I can find today.
