Oklahoma City, OK

welp..piffle...now im blu...i look blu?...i look good in blu?...nnneeehow....last time i looked into it, seems like you had to have a canon bubblejet, and special paper. think i was at one office depot/max/somethingorother stores. but could print any design you wanted, then iron on tees. thot maybe could do via any printer now. had some cool stuff for the grands i wanted to do.

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

i have made shirts for my kids....... I could probably do something in Paint shop pro and turn it into a transfer. I would have to email it directly to you, so the DG copyright didn't show up, but I would be glad to give it a try, maybe tonight after everyone goes to bed. Let me know

i have psp...thats what ive done the designs in, tiz the printing/transferring to tee part...

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Oh Man!! After I finally caught on to VCR, and then DVD, and then DVR, now somebody comes along with PSP and I can't store any more technical information in my brain because my personal harddrive is full and there's no room.

I've done the transfer thing, you can get the paper at Office Max or whatever, but I wasn't real pleased with the result, and it washed out fairly soon. Don't they have iron on letters at Michael's ??

Phoenix, MD(Zone 7a)

OK have done the transfer printed on special iron on transfer sheets for my kid and his friends.
It is ok and does wear off but they still wear the shirts--- if washed inside out in cold and limit dryer time it will last longer.
I printed it directly from word that I created with clip art etc... I do alot of that sort of thing for my son's school.
The best look would be if someone (did'nt carat say she had one) who has an embroidery machine. They get the thread type into the machine the font and what is to be written position it on shirt where it is to be and poof the machine does it!
Just a few options and wil look into places the embroider in local shops or stores and see availbility of such things

Let's see some designs.

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Yes, Magoo I did say I have one. I would love to do it if I can figure out what the issue is with my software and hardware meshing. The machine is sewing beautifully. But only on the designs in the machine or on preformatted sticks. I can seem to get it to read an outside source. The guy who usually works on my machines had hand surgery just before Halloween and hopefully he will be back soon. Until then I am stuck. I have a pile of sewing, and christmas gifts I need to finish and even more I can't even start yet.

If someone has a design that I can play with I will be happy to give it a shot though.

I like that but unrealistic to embroider the whole thing. Maybe the background with a screening and then the lettering embroidered, but remember I cant fade thread that way.

Wysteria, what is your career field? Graphics?

Oklahoma City, OK

ohh..i thot we were attempting the iron-on thang....but yeah understand the embroider part. and no...im network admin geekish type gal....the graphic stuff is my therapy..sortakindanaway. was thinking tho, be kind of cool to get patches started. i have jeanjacket that just screams for new patches. wonder how i'd do that?

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

ummm, from that design?? dont know....I have an appointment for it to be seen at the shop on the monday after Thanksgiving so hopefully they can figure it out with out it costing me to much.
I think I can make patches on my machine. Never have tried though.

I wasn't sure what the plan was just didn't want you doing all that work and then me tell you I can't do that. I have a Brother~ Innovis 4000D, it is capable of doing alot that I haven't even tried yet but something that color intensive would mean changing the thread to much for me to handle. Shading and shadows are hard to duplicate with embroidery...

Oklahoma City, OK

oooo...nonono...im always 'doodlin' in paintshop, if it goes no where at all, certainly won't bother me. if anyone got serious about it tho, lots to take into consideration...size, color...etc. trust me, i'm just filling up a lunch hour.

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

That first pic would be very dooable as a transfer. You don't want much more than just the design to transfer and that would be easy to cut

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

I haven't spoken here before? - I think - (may not be correct) - however - I get to go home tomarrow.

This is a major point as I have been here for four out of the last six weeks.

Don't get me wrong -- Cincinnati is a fine town that I would be proud to live in but at this point I really need to be home.

(and besides it is winter here) I cannot believe how cold it is here in Nov.

Vegas,NV Filbert, SC(Zone 7b)

Have a safe trip home Dyson.....

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

Thank you

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

Dyson, I can't believe how cold it is here right now either..believe me this is about 20 degrees colder than the low for this time of year.. brrrr

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

It is in the 30s here South of Houston right now.

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

we really need to figure out what is going on whith the climate - or - the planting charts will need to be revised - for sure!

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

The overall trend is not clear. They used to grow oranges all the way up into the Carolinas in the 1700s. Then it got colder. I just read that the heat rariation from the sun has temperarily increased. I wonder for how long.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)
