Chele...sometimes it takes life's hard knocks to do that to a person! Like they say everything good has a bad side and everything bad has a good side!
Sorry for him and his medical problems though...
Bought the farm and a $64,000 chicken coop. LOL
Thank you Margie. He was a cold, hard person when I was growing up with alcohol and other problems. I often tell people he was the equivalent of Archie Bunker! I would pretty much say he liked no one nor had nothing nice to say about them unless they were a straight white Baptist. It's a wonder his four children turned out to be well rounded people acceptable of everyone. Had he not changed over the last 15-20 years, things would have been really awful. I married a Catholic and my sister married a black man. LOL My sister is on her fourth husband to boot!
One thing has always been said of me and I am very proud when I hear it. "She has never known a stranger." I can honestly say there have only been a dozen or so people in my whole life that I didn't like and maybe a handful I couldn't tolerate at all. I'll talk to anybody that will hold still. :) My sister is also very nice but more backward than me. Maybe I over did trying to compensate for his pig headedness....
....not my father...but I have know people in my life like you decribe. Too bad for them and for the others that they seem to hate. Hate robs a person of happiness. Too bad you had to grow up with it. Sometimes it does make you a better person, as it has for you and your siblings!
Your poor mother too!
Your dad and mine sound a lot alike. Mine never changed despite his physical ailments, though.
So, when's a good weekend for a couple of really nosy people from Newark to come snooping down your way??
I guess that is why my parents and I are not close today. I have forgiven and tried to forget the past and take things for how they are now. My parents divorced when I was 8. My father and I have an acquaintance type relationship and are able to have a conversation and the occasional call. My mother on the other hand is apparently making up for anything and everything she could possibly have missed in her life so we do not have a relationship at all. I often wonder if she will ever have regrets for what she has walked away from and not enjoyed-like family.
Hmmm, what destination are the nosy people choosing? LOL I am assuming they would be headed for Lynchburg? :) Craig workd weekends because they pay hourly but he will be taking weeks (weekdays) off here and there to get stuff done. I will be running up there off and on to work on gardens. Maybe Uncle Howie can wrestle the monsters. ROTF
"Are you a happy person untill something makes you unhappy? Or are you an unhappy person untill something makes you happy?"
Psych teacher asked that in a class way back when, and I've never forgotten it.
mg
Psych teacher poised Good question.
my answer would be no one, or thing ,
could make me happy or unhappy .
happy comes from with in myself
and that makes me self centered ???
OK.. What happened?? Two days and no posts? Chele, I am guessing is too busy moving
Wasn't she going to try to get the realtor's truck/van this week? Michele, take a break and update, K? You do know how to take a break, right? Fresh cuppa and place butt in chair in front of 'puter. Apply fingers to keyboard....
*ducking now*
mg
bhuuuuuaaaaaa. she has deserted us. hey morning go over there and bet instant glue on the keyboard. :0)
We want an update.
Janett
tayson, she would find a way to dig plants and pack even with a keyboard glued to her fingers. I'm thinking a chair and rope might be an option.
Maybe she's having too much fun in her barn?
*running for cover*
mg
She's probably whacking at the chicken coop, trying to figure out where the $64,000 is hidden.
ROTFLMAO
Well if the chicken coop costs that much I'd hate to see the price of the house!! LOL!!
Nicole
Maybe she's taking pictures of the moving commotion and that's slowing things down!
She has went to her "happy place "'
to stay till she can cope with all the hysterics
that go with moving .
they say moving is right along side
a death or a divorce on the stress level !
praying for smooth safe move and don't forget which box you packed the kids in , LOL
Hey!! Chat room is open, where is BS???
OK I guess a little update is in order.
I got a call from Chele about 4:20 yesterday afternoon.
She thought I was at work and needed a Dollie.
Seems the move was on.
Unfortunately I had the day off so no luck.
They had a rental truck, (ANOTHER SCREW UP BY THE REALTOR) were getting ready to deconstruct the GH and move everything.
As they had just 24 hours to move it all I'm sure she's up to her......well let's just say she's been busy.
If she hasn't posted or called by tomorrow morning I'll try her by phone.
She had some more great screw up stories,
but as they are her stories I'll let her blow off by telling you. lol
Ric
Yeeeeehaaaaw! I was listening to that "Redneck Woman" song on the way to Lynchburg.................ROTFLOL "stand barefoot in the front yard with a baby on my hip"............We picked up a 26' Uhaul, started loading it last night and finished loading this morning. We got out of here about one, and by the time we got there we had 45 minutes to unload the truck. It took an hour. LOL So we decided to keep it another 24 hours.
Sooooooo, we are going to get up at early o'thirty and pack in as many plants as we can and take off again. We'll start with the huge bananas, cannas, brugs, ears, etc and fill the rest with hems and perennials and take off.
We just got home about 15 minutes ago. Once the truck was unloaded I fired up my new Cub Cadet and set off to the yard. OMG!!! I so love tools! LOL I cut the front yard in just under an hour an a half and it took hubby an hour to to the back yard while I trimmed. I found all the painted lines and flags for my utilities so I can get my plan laid out tomorrow and get my bobcat! POND!! I had to dig the last two by hand. I am cheating this time. LOL
Okay, I am going to chat for a minute. BBS!
Edited for a bunch of typos. :)

Good for you - make that pond a big one!
So when is the Texas guest house going to be ready for guests?
Molly... thank you for the "painting tip" from days ago. I've been out of town (at the new house..) since last Thursday and just now logged into LIFE again! I appreciate your information. I felt I had to get a primer and Kilz sounds like a plan. thanks again, tt
Badseed, you have unbelievable energy! Bless you my child!
yvw tt
Molly
:^))
I get exhausted just reading about her days, teateacher.
The ball's definitely rolling now! Go, Chele!
LOL Mitch! We have a sofa if you are itching to go somewhere cooler than Texas! LOL It's a little chilly here right now. We were down to about 60 when we came home. The low tomorrow night is 40. Brrrr!
Trust me when I say it is nervous energy and the desire to not have two mortgages nor lose all my plants in the first big frost! LOL
dont you ever sleep now I dont usually see you here untill its 1 pm for me ((((hugs))))))
I do sleep! LOL I was uncomfortable and got up for a drink. I slurped up some V8 and then got involved in X Files. LOL
Hey with my 90 degrees still it sure is tempting....
Cool temps - I could do a lot more out there if it was a little bit cooler out.
Have fun with that bobcat - you are going to love the thing . . . to much fun . . . hehehe
Oldseed that's a cool building! Where's Dexter?
Badseed, please warn your family that there is a crash coming so that none of the girls is between you and the couch when your eyes roll up into your head and you begin to fall forward!
lol Kathleen. I was thinking a similar thing about her. Night of the Walking Dead came to mind. lol
Chele? you rented a U-haul that has brugs growing out of the ceiling???????????
A lot of work doing this I know. As soon as you finish, get yourself on down here. I'll need a whirlwind and you fit the bill, for when I get ready to move.
Molly
:^)))
So how many van loads is it going to take?
I would not want to think about moving... not the number of pots you have but still way to many!
Molly, I love you, really I do, but NO NO NO NO NO NO! LOL
I think I could fill that truck 10 more times and still not be done. I didn't even touch all the potted plants by the pond and have yet to start digging out front. Ruh roh!
I did have *some* help. I bribed them with rides on the new lawn tractor. LOL
It's ugly Mitch. We don't want to talk about it, really. :) I need to run out and buy a hitch to put on my Sub. My neighbor said I can use his trailer. At least that way I can take a load of plants every time I go.
Another view of the plants. We unloaded about 20 pots before I decided hardies should go on the left and tenders should go on the right. LOL
Not ugly - a stunning group! I would love to see that trailer full of plants running down the road! There is just to many plants to move here would have to wait for the DLs to be ready for winter I guess....
Bag up the cactus and I'll see if I can kidnap a load Mitch! lol
GREAT work Chele!
Any sign of neighbors yet?
Ric
