Nor Cal Roundup - September 24 - Plant trades

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

Should we bring our clippers? Looks like a lot of lush vegetation at the park! We have enough people coming that we can post a lookout for the ranger.

;-}

You're SOOOOO funny!!!!! If all of us did that, there would be NO vegetation left! LOL

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

OK! OK! I'll just bring my camera.

Thanks Sue...you will be there in spirit !!!

Hey all you crazy plant nuts

i had a really great time, and thank you all so much for making my Mom and Gran feel so welcomed they had a good time.

The travelling jungle on the way home was very full, but everyone managed to fit in my little Subaru WRX with the cooler and wheelchair and all the wonderful plants okay....

My DH was not surprised on the number of plants and he commented on the fact that had shown restraint and not crammed the car full and made everyone walk home behind the car...... it was tempting though, boy was it a fun day.

Loved talking to people, placing the names to faces and getting to know some of you better. next time i will make it there on time and then i can meet all the wonderful people out there i did not get to really talk to today...

But thanks you all for your generosity of spirit and heart.

When the next get together??????? I am now addicted to DG RU's

Diane...It was great meeting you and your family! Since we live so close together we will have to plan to go nursery hopping one of these days, after your family visit and my trip!

picturelady - Instead of one caravan to the East Bay to nursery shop, how about two? One to the East Bay and one to the Santa Cruz area!! Boy, are there a lot of nurseries down that way! I might even get some of you interested in succulents - there are four nurseries that I know of in that area that specialize in them. LOL

Diane - nice to meet you and your family. Hope it isn't another year before at least some of us get together again.

There were a few things left behind - I've started a "lost and found" thread on this forum. Take a look and see if you can identify anything. Thanks!

Marilyn, I started a "Castro Valley Results" thread, too.Going to post pics there is this morning. Maybe I should have called it "Who gave me this and what it is again?" http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/547052/

Can't wait till it warms up enough to go outside and play!

Thanks to both of you for the new threads. I'm going to read them through thoroughly tomorrow. Right now I'm trying to catch up, and I'm SOOO tired from the Garden's sale! We sold over $30,000 of plants in 5 hours!!

Thanks again to everyone for their donations - they're much appreciated!

$30,000??? Thunk........that's great!!!! Golly gee, you own a truck, right?

SF Bay Area, CA(Zone 9b)

I don't own a truck, but the Berkeley Botanical Garden, who had the sale, has several trucks, although they're small. But we only use one during the plant sale. The customers mostly used wagons to carry their plants, and we had 3 different "hold" areas for their plants.

Wish I could sell that many $$$ of ANYTHING in 1 day! I could retire for good with just a few sales! LOL

Man, exhausted but happy!!!! I had a fantastic time, it was so wonderful meeting all of you!!!!! check it out part one! I'll go check out the new threads for photos!
