My dear ole Mom had a birthday today and got her first digital camera as a gift!!! She's in the process of figuring out all of the details, so I'm starting this thread for her to get her going :) Her garden is starting to really pop up and it's just the right time to start taking pics! I was there for dinner tonight and took some photos myself. So here's my mama's garden ;)
Huga
Here's a budding peony and a white bleeding heart... huge!
Buckeyemom's Garden :)
Hi Mom! Nice to see you again. :) Your gardens are lovely. Nice of that kid of yours to get you a camera. Hey, I like the name change too.
Hi Badseed thanks for your kind comments. :) I love the camera, and my new hostas from Huga. I had just gotten off work so I looked a little straggly. My DH got the hang of the camera real fast too, even telling me how to hold the plants so you could see the foliage better. The name change is great isn't it? Although the first time I logged in with it it took me three times, I couldn't remember how to spell it. LOL Talk to you later. Bucki
You must be a pretty good mom to get hosta and a camera. LOL
You look scraggly?? Get real! You look great!
You better watch out. Hubby will take off with that camera. They are addictive.
Hi again Badseed, my DH already asked if he could take it to the Senior Open in Dayton in July! I guess I'll let him use it. I get to go on the weekend with him so then I'll run the batteries down. I did that the first day I had it. Huga and I were on the phone last night at ll:00 so she could tell me how to post the pics. Not so hard really but the old pro was helping me which helped. Take care again. Bucki
buckimom, You look great and Happy Birthday. Must have been a lot of fun. And so nice to receive both a new camera and new hosta. they are looking great in your garden. And that is a beautiful large bleeding heart.
Huga, waiting to see more pix of your garden. You have a good looking mom. How far apart do you live. I must go do a few things then off to bed. Am making too many mistakes. DonnaS
Dear Donna S You are very kind. :) That bleeding heart is neat. I think I bought it 3 years ago. When the lawn fertilizer guy worked on the lawn earlier this spring I think it got an extra dose. I have a hosta underneath waiting to take over that space once she is done working her magic. My grandma's favorite flower was bleeding heart so I have had them in my gardens for a long long time to honor her. She is where I got my green thumb. The three little coral bells are new this year for my three little granddaughters. Just got up thunder woke me we got a little shower could use more. Huga lives about 45 minutes away which is a blessing because up until a year ago they lived 7 hours away. What a joy to have them all so close again. Take care and God bless. Bucki
Oh, Mom!!! Thanks so much for posting the pics of the hostas!!! I'm so excited that Shiny Penny and Fair Maiden were so big :) Yeah!!!! Very fun :) I heard you ordered two more this morning. LOL -- uh oh.. you're in trouble aren't you? Now that you know the names of what you have, you won't be able to stop adding to your growing little hosta list!!! LOL :) By the way, your hosta under the kitchen window are Hosta lancifolia, I'm pretty sure :) So glad you loved your new babies!
Love you,
Jacci
great pictures. the birdbath garden gave me inspiration to try the same thing in my front yard. aren't those digital cameras great??
Jacci, what would I have to trade you for your mom?? :)
Happy Mothers Day buckimom!!!
Awww, Chele :) That was very sweet... maybe we can share? Whatcha think, Mom?? 6 more instant grandbabies!! LOL...
Dear Hugahosta,
I would love it! Like I always say to quote Mother Teresa of Calcutta "How can there be too many children? That is like saying there are too many flowers." Lovely thought isn't it? Love, Mom

Badseed I wrote a post to you earlier wishing you Happy Mother's Day, Happy Mother's Day, Happy Mother's Day, Happy Mother's Day,Happy Mother's Day, Happy Mother's Day!! I don't know what I did wrong but it seems that it didn't get posted to this thread like I thought. I hope you see this. Cathy
LOL You two are both WAY too nice.I had a good day. I built myself an arbor for the kids to grow gourds on, kids picked me out 6 nice hanging baskets plus each brought me home a hand painted pot with a little plant in it then hubby came home and brought me a Knockout Rose and Chrysanthemum Becky. Then I didn't even have to cook dinner!
I hope your day was lovely, both of you!
Wooee, woman!!! You made out great, didn't ya?? LOL :) Happy belated Mom's Day :)
BTW, I got Becky this year, too. Supposedly, she doesn't need any staking. Hope that's the case. I love shastas, such friendly-looking plants.
Mom, planted the Albo Marginata you gave me today. Hoping that it isn't gonna burn up in my poor shade-free garden...LOL :) It's the biggest plant I have!!! LOL ;)
Hey, look at all these great pictures! Looks like you're having fun with that camera. :)
Dear Gardenwife,
I am having a great deal of fun. The batteries have been recharged quite a bit already and I have only had it a week. I love it. Very easy too which was a big plus for an oldie like me! Take care! :) Cathy
BUCKIMOM and HUGAHOSTA enjoyed readying and seeing pictures of the hostas. Huga thanks for the info about the hostas in your neighborhood and for the directions--like you said I'll have to make a day if it.
By the way Buckimom belated happy birthday--we share the same birthday.
Connie
Dear Connie,
Happy belated birthday to you! I love having a birthday in May! I tell my grandbabies Nana's birthday is a holiday in Mexico! LOL Thanks for the nice comments also. Where did spring go?
Belated happy birthday, Connie! I just saw this post today - you have a lovely garden, and great new additions!
LOL, Mom! Enjoying that camera???? ;)
I have enjoyed this thread, look at all the Ohio folks on one thread. My daughter will be moving to Wright Patterson in July.
Any good botanical gardens to vist. I am also looking for mini hosta.
Dear Bluegrass,
I am relatively new to DG. Until I got a DC for my BD (as you know) and some new hostas I was pretty subdued but now I can't wait to get home and go to DG. And when I saw your post I was really excited. I am so complimented that you have enjoyed this thread. I hope your daughter enjoys this part of Ohio. Cox Arboratum (?) is very beautiful. Maybe Huga can think of some others. Thanks for viewing our thread. Hope to take some more pics tomorrow when I hear it is going to be warmer and I can plant some pink impatiens I got yesterday. Take care. :) Bucki
