Round Robin with a Twist Part 3

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

wennys zip is 30004 i think it was she is in the addy exchange

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

Ok, the robin is again heading North for the spring. It left Alabama and is heading into New York.
The confirmation number is
0304 1560 0003 5092 4831
On my receipt it says Carmel New York 10512 Priority so it does make a difference how far it goes. But jumping around makes it that much more fun, don't you think. It isn't any fun if it spends a whole week in one state.
I told her to check Priority and Flat rate and she said the Flat Rate box was cheaper and went to get me a box. I pointed out that it was already in the flat rate box. She said "Oh now I see, it is so nicely decorated I didn't see that!" LOL
She then said "It looks like this is one of those pass around boxes, is it from you or is this your daughter?" LOL
I said, "No we are all adults." and laughed She said "Well that is neat that you can all still be young at heart." So this box is getting quite the attention as it flies around.
I must admit that when I walked into our tiny post office, I tucked it under my arm. Well, there was this real serious farmer type there. But when he asked for a book of stamps he asked to look at the pretty ones. LOL He got the magnolias. LOL Spring is affecting everyone.
So the box flat rate there was $8.15 and the confirmation was 45 cents. It is rather full now, I added three quart sized baggies to it with different things in it than I found when I got it. Can't wait for the reverse now....can't get enough of this fun. LOL
Enjoy it all!

Wichita, KS

Hi, Windy
I got some of those tiny seeds, too. In a baggie marked 'Twisted Robin Unknown Goodies'...LOL

It will be a nice surprise to see what they are.

Really enjoying all the posts for the Twisted and the Backwards Robin. Can't wait to be involved in another one of these...LOL

You may see this one back your way after it's circles the globe the first time!

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

wheres the backwards one???? still with farmerpickle???

Shepherd, TX(Zone 8b)

Oh wow...if it's going at this rate, I'll be nursing a pulled tooth and digging through seeds at the same time...I'm going in for oral surgery Friday morning, so if I'm a little slower than most folks here, you'll know why. I'm having to get a sinus lift for a tooth implant at the same time, so my head will feel like I've been hit by a truck for a few days, if I'm not floating in LaLa Land from the painkiller he perscribes me. I'll think of it as positive therapy during my recovery.

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

OUCH! That sound tooooooo yucky! I'm sorry you'll be down and out, but since I'm on vacation Thursday and friday, the package won't be headed your way until next Monday. It's a relief to know you won't be foaming at the bit and having fits that it's taking me too long!

Shepherd, TX(Zone 8b)

LOL I'll probably be lucky to remember that there's a box heading my way! I'm pretty sure me and my pillow will be the best of friends for a few days.

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

QueenB, sorry to hear about your oral surgery, but I bet your right about the seed therapy. I'm floating around my house just thinking about them.

Gail, I hope you're having lots of fun with the seeds. It is just like Christmas, isn't it?

Woohoo! Let the countdown begin!

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

Iiiiiit's hee-eere!

I'm supposed to be getting up at the crack of dawn for my mini-vacation, but I think I'll just pour a small glass of champange and take a little look-see...

Shepherd, TX(Zone 8b)

Well, I hope your look-see has some cool stuff in it...my surgery has been delayed! *G*

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

Ok,sent the reverse robin out today to plant_fiend.So sorry it took me so long, but the brakes went out on my car,and just got it out of the shop today. Delivery confirmation # 0304 3490 0002 7487 4539.Should see it in 2 to 3 days.I added about 50 more packs,so it should have a little over 200.

Thanks, Golgi. I'll keep my eyes out for them. I'll turn them around as quikly as I can, 75154.

And with the great seeds Sheran has - I am going to love this box! I have some really good ones to add but still looking . . . never know what you are going to find right? Mitch

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

QueenB - she's all packed up and ready to be mailed out Monday!

I took out 40 full (some only had a couple of seeds) and 10 partial packets and added 60, plus a little gift, just for you!

Enjoy! I will add the Tracking Confirmation Number Monday evening.

Flat rate, $7.70 + Conf fee.

FYI - There is only one flat rate fee anywhere in the US. According to the postmaster, if you are being charged more than that it's because the box is not being recognized/acknowledged as a Flat Rate Box because of all the clutter on the exterior. Perhaps a fresh box is in order.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

go for it - I would rather have less stickers and less cost personally - What do you all think?

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

There seems to be confusion about flate rates. I thought somebody mentioned a smaller flat rate box that went for $3.85, same as the big flat rate envelope, when we were organizing this robin. But it turns out there is only one flat rate for boxes, as Sequee said. This flat rate of $7.70 applies to boxes of two different dimensions that seem to have about the same volume (although I didn't calculate it). Here's a link to the USPS flat rate box description. The click & ship and pickup option links are worth a look. http://shop.usps.com/cgi-bin/vsbv/postal_store_non_ssl/display_products/productDetail.jsp?OID=4849213

Once the twisted robin went into a flat rate box, I don't think anybody paid more than flat rate postage plus confirmation fee to send it along. Several people paid less, because if it isn't going far then regular rates might be cheaper than flat rate. The counter person at my postal office said that they don't even look to see if it's a flat rate box or not unless you *ask* for flat rate postage. So I think you just have to ask what that postage cost is to the destination, then ask (or not) that the box be sent at the flat rate.

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Critter sounds like you are on top of it, keep it up!

San Jose, CA(Zone 9b)

Ok, Sheran ~ the birdie flew the coop this morning and is on it's way. I added in 32 packets to an already nice selection.

Have fun!

Shepherd, TX(Zone 8b)

And just what should happen whilst I'm in the middle of herding my two very, very, very impatient goats to pasture (actually, they were dragging me by the leads), but the mail lady drives up and honks her horn vigorusly! I ended up dragging both adults with the kid tagging along ALLLLLLL the way from the back end of my property, with the adults trying to snag a tasty bit of grass (or my plants) along the way, trying to keep myself from getting tangled up in their leads from their inability to walk in a straight line for any length of time, with a kid tripping my heels to retrieve 'The Box'. The mail carrier's comment: "Sure looks like you've got your hands full!" (Where's her sign??)

I'm sitting here typing this, staring at this wonderful motherlode I'm about to open. This box is too cool! I'm not sure anything else can be added to the outside, and it's going to take a team of lumberjacks to cut through all this tape...

Leander, TX(Zone 8b)

It is getting close I am sooooooo terribly excited. Queen B I loved your story! Have fun going through the loot! Kim

Well, I've just about finished up here, but I won't be able to mail the box until Friday morning. I'm tossing in some little plastic baggies for those who might need some to put their goodies in. I also have a little gift for you, gingerlily. :-)

Shepherd, TX(Zone 8b)

The TRR left here yesterday afternoon...conf. del. # 0304 1560 0001 9087 4624. Enjoy! :-)

ok the robin is here.. and going out again......... mitchel fitgerald... get ready.. will mail it monday.

Fenton, MO(Zone 5b)

Heres hoping 75154 either turns that robin loose fast or way slow, I'm going out of town on May 12th and won't be back until May 15th. Wouldn't ya know it?!

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I hope to have it out of here ASAP !!!! Oh wow - here one comes.... so many things to get ready!!!!!

New York & Terrell, TX(Zone 8b)

Yeah, like labels on your baggies or envelopes! Don't forget to have a good pen handy.
And a wide open space.... Like the rug on the floor.... LOL!
I bought an el-cheapo flannel backed tablecloth to use from the dollar store, to put across the rug.

~* Robin

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

It is not even here yet and I am excited! LOL

oh isnt this cute......... calm down people..... ( watch the blood pressures)

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Calm??? Who can be calm when contemplating a box with several hundred seed packets?!? I know I was just bouncing on my toes with excitement when Steve said The Box was on its way to me!

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Way to much for mere mortal man - this is one of those big things you tell your children and grandchildren about!

ah cute................................
