Round Robin with a Twist Part 3
I don't have any unique seeds to add to it, but I have lots of common seeds to add. Coleus's, broken colored 4 oclock's, purple basil, sweet williams, columbines, and others. I hope these will be usefull to someone on down the road.
Robbie, I didn't know you had a picture of me when I wake up in the morning. LOL!
~~~***~~~
kathys999, I'd like some Coleus' and purple basil!
I really haven't grown Coleus in 30 years. Since the last time someone gave them a 40 oz. and they shot up to the first floor windows in height and collapsed dead from the growth spurt. I had 10 of them at the time in wooden boxes out in the front, against the house. They were about 3 &1/2 feet in height within 7 days! I was told they looked dry at the time. Daylight at 85 degrees.
I'll tag some just for you Nature Walker. :)
Oh, thank you very much kathys999.
Where is everybody???
i here and accounted for
I wonder if gingerlily got the box...
I got it, Thursday, QueenB. But! I had forgotten all about signing up for this and couldn't find the thread on the round robin thread and finally realized I should look on the seed trading thread. I will get it mailed out tomorrow, Sat. to "eskieleia" in S.C. I was amazed at how many seeds I actually found I wanted. I am including some I think are kind of unusual. What fun! I counted 288 packs of seeds, of course that could be give or take a couple, it was late.
Now I am going to have to stay home just to watch. . . and just think this is not even the big one!!!! I love seeds way to much . . . must get help . . . nah. Mitch
I planted a bunch of seeds yesterday and still have a lot more to plant. I swear every year that I will not collect more seeds, but still end up doing it.
I even ordered wildflower seeds from Clyde Robin. He has something called no mow grass and it is mixed with wildflowers. I am trying that one also. I never ordered from them before and the Garden Watchdog doesn't have but one entry about it. I'll just have to wait and see what turns up.
Make sure to add your comments to the GW - it sure is nice to have have that as a resource!
Whoohoo, the box is getting close!!
I barely made it to the po Sat. morning before they closed, but it did fly out. Confirmation # 0303
0803 0000 4665 5827. Thank you QueenB, since I have large hands, I was surprised they fit. I got to the po 5 minutes before closing. We had tons of company around here Sat. morning, and I got to digging plants to give them, then the new neighbors came over to meet us, while I was doing that. I was lucky they all got gone with just enough time to get there, and Iucky I remembered the box at that time.
By the way, I pointed out it was a flat rate box, but since it was cheaper by weight, that's what she charged me. But then our po clerk didn't even know the price for a flat rate box, she asked me! Scary, huh? I don't usually mail much from that po, but it was the closest one. I usually drive another 4 miles or so to the one across the line in Alabama, but they probably would have been closed when I got there, and this one would have been closed by time I got back.
By the way, gingerlily, your Jamaican Yellow x Pink Lady Brug is coming back! I was so worried that I'd lost her in the great aphid / whitefly wars! She's looking good now, though, and I can hardly wait to put her outside in the sunshine.
And your namesake is awesome - as witness the attached photo!
I am so glad Sequee, about both. Maybe you'll get blooms this year. I don't remember if you know a lot about brugs, but if not, put the fertilizer to it. And do you know that it has to "y" before it blooms. Did I send you seeds or cuttings, seeds I think, yes? I don't know how big the gingerlily has to be to bloom, I've had them so long, I don't pay much attention until I'm sniffing the blooms.
Actually, you shocked the living daylights out of me by sending a wonderful. potted brug! And she was so strong and healthy, in full leaf, when THE BUG attack happened. She became totally deleafed, and the main stem started to look withered. Now she's comin' back in full steam - whew! Poor baby's been through the ringer!
The Ginger Lily is a good 24" and seems very happy in the green house. Can't wait to get them outside in the warm, fresh air...whenever that arrives!
Good, maybe they both will bloom this year. A couple of years ago I had that problem with the bugs. Aggravating to say the least. When it was kinda dry in my then little makeshift greenhouse, I noticed, that the bug problem increased, so I upped the moisture level and it eased off. In the meantime I had sprayed the plants too.
The Reverse Robin is here!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahhhhhhh so many seeds to look at will be adding mine and hope to get this out in the morning! Kathys999 keep on the look out maybe by the weekend?
I will be going out of town on May 12th and returning on May 15th, I'm going to tell a neighbor to keep an eye out for it and bring it inside.
Do you want me to hold it until the 12th to mail out can do if it will help.
Hey Jenn:
Just got "the box" awhile ago and am going thru it now. A very nice selection. Will get this in the mail to you no later than Friday. Will post confirmation # when it is mailed. Now, I need to get back to it! LOL
Rhonda
Oh greenthumber I hope you get it soon because then I am next. Whohoo.
Wow, thanks for the update!
OOOOooooooooooh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy!!!
Jenn
OK Jenn - she is headed your way in tomorrow's mail - (5/12/05)
Conf. # 9101 0105 2129 7565 7754 52 - There is a lot of stuff in there, so have fun. I took out some, put in some and the box is SOOOOO full! : )
This was a lot of fun.
Box has a lot of tape on it, but it's still "pretty" (and the tape is helping make it strong LOL - I added some stickers to it too.
Rhonda
twenty2libras, did you figure it out? Someone starts a box of seeds and it gets sent from person to person (those who sign up to forward it on to someone else). You take out what seeds you want, and put in the same number of packs so it never runs out. It's lots of fun and surprises.
Where has it gone?
Gingerlily, it's only had 2 days to get to Jenn from Rhonda.... probably it is still en route!
It's fun to follow this thread as both Boxes zip around the country!
Not in this morning's mail yet...still a'watchin! :)
