Hello Dave...

i was wonderin... can we script our own epitaphs?

mine might read:

" If it grew, I watered it.. if it didn't, I mulched it.
Guess I got what i gave to this world --- Arod"

just wonderin... ;)

Dave, JoanJ did mention that she'd like to do it and we've been in touch a few days ago in case you chose one of us, we planned to work together anyhow. Kathy :)

I do not mind if I am not selected... I merely volunteered to help... I am quite happy if y'all want Joan and Kathy..

Hello Kathy! I haven't chatted with you in a while, missed your pleasant emails... :)

I think that's an interesting idea, for someone to script their own epitaph if they so choose. Seems only fair. As long as it's within the DG Acceptable Use policy, of course, like everything else.

Of course, not everyone would be in a position to do this, or would necessarily want to - but for those who do, it's a nice option IMHO.

When it's my turn to go, I just want my name on the list, to be remembered.

Yes, Kathy and I have talked about this and agreed to help each other out if you chose one of us. I would be glad to do it.

Didn't realize you already had this wrapped up. I don't know very many people anyway, so I probably wouldn't be a good choice.

Hi Starr, I've missed our emails, as well. Dave did say that he needed 3 so I think that might mean myself, you, and JoanJ. :) That would be great, as we all get along well.

Sequee, I think you'd be surprised how many you know here :) My philosophy, if you're a DG subscriber, you're family.

Darius, We would have to put down more than your name. We just love you that much girl! In fact, we'd have to have several threads....Darius I, DariusII, DariusIII....get the picture LOL

Spklatt, I agree with you that if someone knows and can write their own words, we would put them down. You would have to private email one of the moderators with the info "to have and to hold" so to speak.

So, now we'll just wait for Dave to work his magic and creativity. Thanks Dave.

Now it's up to all of you/us subscribers to keep us abreast of the loss of DGers so that we can post them. Remember our names (MistyMeadows, fsr333, Sequee) so that you can contact any one of us. Together we will collaberate; it would be helpful if you have a link to a local newspaper that might have an obituary we can post as well. Together we can make this a wonderful memorial to all of our friends when the time comes.

I love this idea and think we need it. Are we going back to past members? OR just going forward ? I know that didn't sound right but really didn't know how to say it any other way. MY point was do we need to send you info on members we know have been called home?

I definitely think we should go back and make this all-inclusive! Perhaps we can start with the folks listed in this thread?

Kathy, Joan, I agree with Sequee to start with those listed in this thread and go from there. At the very least,we should include those who have departed in the the past 6 months.... Do you agree or is that too far back?

I may have misunderstood, but if i didnt, i feel we should go back to the beginning and include everyone...

I think that anyone who was a subscriber of DG, and has passed on, should be included. I really don't think there will be so many that they can't be caught up from beginning to present, and from there it's just keeping up and watching the threads so they stay on tract. I think this thread mentions lots of those that have passed, and hopefully if there's others not mentioned in this thread, someone will send you an email and help you find the info to get it posted.

Dave, I'm thinking that a sticky note on the top of the forum with the information about how to contact the forum moderators for additions would be a good idea? That would eliminate any questions about who they should contact when they learn of a subscriber who has gone home.

MsJen, let us know who and we get to work. I am new, so I don't know everyone we have lost, but you and Berrygirl can help us with information. I may be speaking out of order, but I feel that all subscribers should be included and I am glad you brought that out.

I agree it should have past members beyond 6 months.

BTW - I'm sure this is no news to you, but I was always told never to "assume" anything! LOL! You can get alot of information regarding our fellow subscribers by reviewing their threads and going into the Prayer Forum.

Yep...DaleP moving on sure caught me by surprise.

However, our first loss (that I remember) was Tink. She was such a kind soul (most like still is!) and it took so many of us by surprise.

There was also someone named lillianna or something close to that. I remember her from a daylily co-op. If I have the wrong name, I am very sorry! I am going to go look. She was a dear woman, precious to many.

I think it should be everyone on DG that has passed on. I remember a very long time ago, it would have probably been around summer or fall of 2001, Dave posted at the top of DG when you log in that someone named Ola had died. I didn't know her but I do remember Dave posting that. You may have to ask him for the details on her.
