I too was thinking of Zulqarnain -- I was thinking, WOW, what an example his father is setting for him! While he may not actually remember *these* kitties when he grows up, it is events and happenings like this that will imprint and shape him into a loving and resourceful person that the world needs!

Maybe he will also be reminded of the people all around the world that have written to help his dad and these small creatures -- as we all need to -- when the press and the politicians are ranting about the "threats" of other countries/people/religions!

Also, I was thinking of Kaleem's wife, that she must thank her parents and parents-in-law a thousand times, for finding her such an industrious and KIND husband!

~'spin!~

P/S/ There are LOTS of kittens in the world that do not get taken to a vet. Sure, some of them succumb to diseases and it would be better if these babies were de-wormed and got their rabies shots, but if there is no vet available, let's not pester Kaleem too much about it... Remember, there are places where *people's* health is not even cared for, much less animals' -- "gumlla" is doing his best (and doing very well, too)!

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

I really like the different color that the cats there have. Wish we could introduce some of that color strain into our domestic cats here.
Glad to hear they are thriving so well. I don't think I could have done such a great job. It is always touch and go when you take on babies this small.

Thanks for the words, but I am going to brust , you filled too much air. lol

Windy
Here is a picture for you.

Kind of reminds me of a baby chihuahua. LOL

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

Today I saw mam cat, she is looking pregnant again, I think this is the reason, why she left her kitties.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Oh poor mama kitty! Poor thing! I hope she does better this next time around so you don't have a whole new litter to take care of! But at least you have experience now! :-)

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

If it were at all possible it'd be great if you could wrangle her, take her to a vet and get her spayed. I know you probably wouldn't be able to and it's expensive but I just thought I'd bring it up if there was the slightest chance you'd be able to.

Windy, I think these cats are a different kind than we have here. They seem to be taller and thinner in Asia. African ansestors maybe? But I could be wrong about these in particular.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

It's too bad they don't make blow darts of some kind of medicine to sterilize ferals. Wouldn't that be great? No surgery, just a dart.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10b)

In London they put birth control pills in pigeon food on top of buildings........keeps pigeons down.

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

Gw
Yes just a dart is better than others.

CaptMicha
For all? it is very expensive................

daisyavenue
You meant next time these pills are best for me and my cat?

If the mama cat leave her kitties again then what will I do?

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Poor Gumlla - noone expects you to take on the control of the feral cats in Pakistan.. CaptMicha was just talking of the IDEAL situation. Which doesn't actually exist even here.

I just found this thread this lunchtime and have read every post.
What a wonderful group of people have helped you Gumlla and what a wonderful job you have done. You kept them all alive and that is a hard thing to do.

And what great little pointy ears they have... and I've never seen such color as the brown/black either. The little masked black and white one is a cutie - stealing your heart too.

Have you named them yet? and are they boys or girls.? And good heavens you can hardly make a career out of this. But maybe Mommy just needed a break and will do right by this batch. Poor thing doesn't want to be pregnant all the time. ~Blooms

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

gumlla, if the leukemia vaccine is not available, it probably means that this terrible cate disease has not reached Pakistan (and I sincerely hope it never does).

I asked my friend Pipe, who is a Vet, and he told me the most important thing (considering Zulquarnain) is that your kitties are dewormed. Did the Vet recommend something? Once they are dewormed, they will also increase their weight.

Does your Vet have pelleted kitty-food? What did he recommend?

How much does it cost to spay/neuter a cat in Pakistan?

I know I'm asking too many questions ....... it's just that I love your kitties and want the best for them and for your family.

Please keep us posted. You are doing great!!!!

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10b)

No pills for you or your cat, Kaleem!! LOL I was just pointing out how the English have dealt with over breeding animals!!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

But if the kitties eat the birth-controlled pigeons, then perhaps the effects can "rub off"?

Nahhhh ;o)

GREAT job with the kitties! It's amazing what we take for granted here (easy access to veterinary care and hundreds of different pet food varieties, and in many areas of the U.S., there are clinics offering cheap immunizations, flea dips, spaying/neutering, etc.) We are blessed beyond our ability to comprehend.

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10b)

Actually- We are obsessed beyond our ability to comprehend! LOL

Off to play with my Hammy.......:)

Pocola, OK(Zone 7a)

Kaleem, I think what CaptMicha meant was to try to take mama kitty in and have only her spayed, which would also take care of the next batches of kittens coming along. It sounds cruel, but in the long run it would be much better for the mama and the poor kittens that would be born if she is left to have litter after litter.

These are still name less, but soon I will post a thread in Pet forum for name, now the world is very small after internet, Memebrs are very loving and caring, I also observed one thing in west people love people and also animals, I appericiate their this quality and did this great job with the "GOLDEN MEMBERS" of Davesgarden. All are girls no boys, You know in India and Pakistan people are unhappy on the birth of girls, may mama cat left her girl kitties due to this reason.

Ursula
20US$ for one kitten, anti rabies vaccine. They recomended Boiled meat, fish ,bread and milk for the food.

Terry
Your suggestion is good, I will ask to Baa for birth-controlled pigeons , you are lucky have all the facilities for your pets.

I understand your words, dont worry.

cherishlife
Thanks for the words.

That's amazing - and he's SO beautiful! It seems to me your country has a few animal lovers/rescuers, too!

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

Here are few more pictures of my kitties.

Gumlla, What is a Bighorn? Is it a mountain goat? It looks like a deer, but with horns, to me, but not like the ones that eat up all our proceeds in the fields. :)

Pflugerville, TX(Zone 8b)

I think one of the kittens should be named DeeGee :-)

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

MistyMeadows
Yes you can say mountain goat but these are looking like deers, here these are also known as Markhore mean snake eater, they can eat snake.

PvillePlanter
Good name, but sugession is required by other members also.

Thumbnail by gumlla

Gumlla, I'm with PvillePlanter, if you can, you should name one of your babies DG or Dee Gee, or even Dave. If you read this thread through again, and it will make sense!! DGers helped you save these babies (though all the real work was yours), and I think that's the best reason ever!

Christine

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

I like DeeGee too Kaleem! :-)

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

I have two one is black and one is whit/black, which one DG and what will be for other?

Thumbnail by gumlla
Pflugerville, TX(Zone 8b)

I suggested DeeGee instead of Dave because I think he said all the kittens were female and I figured a girl named Dave would kinda be like a boy named Sue :-)

Spokane Valley, WA(Zone 5b)

DG could also represent "Daughter of Gumlla"... *giggle*... I like it as well, Kaleem! :)

DeeGee then, yup, best reason I can see....don't want no girlie kitty with a boy name!! Guess I shoulda re-read the thread, eh? LOL.

Mirpur (A.K), Pakistan(Zone 9b)

I think pets name should be different than humans names.

Gordonville, TX(Zone 7b)

I was looking at the black & white one's foto when I said that so I say her.

Me too, my cats are named after flowers - Lily and Lupin - both girls.

TuttiFrutti
You are very sharp, as always ha ha ha , DG ( Daughter of Gumlla), I am on the floor ha ha ha.

Carmel, NY(Zone 6b)

One could be Dee and one could be Gee...

Pflugerville, TX(Zone 8b)

I thought maybe the brown one since she is brown like soil. But the black and white one sure does have the cutest expressions.

Spokane Valley, WA(Zone 5b)

How about "Terra" for the dark one? It fits the soil suggestion (in regard to color), yet has a larger meaning as in earth or world, I think. :)

Pflugerville, TX(Zone 8b)

I like it! :-)

Santiago, Chile(Zone 9b)

Petunia?
