They're beautiful, and I can tell how much bigger they are! They're filling out nicely.
Pls help me and my kittens
That's wonderful. I can imagine how frustrated I'd be if we suddenly were unable to access DG. I could do without just about every other website, but DG is the first place I visit in the morning and the last place I visit at night.
I also viste this beautiful site of beautiful hearts twice a day. same like you once in the morning and once late night.
Oh, and I'm here a lot in between (when I should be doing other things, mostly!).
Welcome back gumlla! Love the kitty pics....they are so cute. And growing like weeds....heh
woooohooo.. those babies have really grown.. They look so good, wait till they start playing and running. They are good mouse catchers too.
Our neighbor across the street moved about three months ago and left all her cats (she did take her dogs). Well, they adopted us. Now we feed them (three of them) and our three dogs. But, we have never been able to get close enough to touch them, they are afraid of our dogs. They are very smart animals too.
They have some very distinct markings. I always like to see what different types of cat colorings there are in different parts of the world.
Do you still have the kittens? Just wanting to see more pictures of them.
We want kitty pics!
We want kitty pics!
We want kitty pics!
LOL! I guess I am not the only curious one. I want to see that one with the brown head. The color looks different than any I have seen.
gumlla,
Your thread has been the most heart warming one i've viewed to date. more kitty pics!!!
well done, mom. lol
So they're eating regular cat food now? They are so cute!
Kitties will eat just about anything humans do. I would give them the boiled meats and maybe some cooked grains like rice. They like egg and fish also.
There are folks here who can tell more than me about amounts, but a balanced diet should include meats and grains with a little oil. Commercial pet food suppliers here in the States use these ingredients to make the food that we feed our pets and you can duplicate the ingredients in your country with no problem.
Just make sure that rich foods are given in small amounts and give a new food carefully until you see that they can tolerate it without becoming sick.
You've done a wonderful job and now your family will have some loving 4 footed fur friends.
Gumlla, can they be this big already? If people grew this fast, we'd sure have a crowded planet! Here's a couple of sites with information about raw diets for cats (also known as BARF...Bones and Raw Food):

This link gives some good information regarding cat nutrition:

Doing a search for "homemade cat food" may also give you some other ideas. Your kittens are looking great. Keep up the good work!
Wow - they have grown so fast, right in front of our eyes!
gumlla, maybe you should start a petfood business in Pakistan and get rich!
I agree with Melody: post at the Pet Forum. You will get many responses from very knowledgeable cat lovers. Adequate food is essential for these baby-kitties, since they did not have their maternal food for the necessary time.
How about Veterinaries in Pakistan? Do you have access to small animal (pets) Vets? Your babies need to be checked, deparasited(? - dewormed?) and vaccinated, specially because of your son Zulquarnain.
Please keep your camera batteries loaded LOL.

How to Make Homemade Cat Food
Cat food can be made at home using ground meats and flavorings.
Steps:
1. Understand that there are certain foods that should be avoided when you make your own cat food. Never feed your cat chocolate, alcohol, onions, pork (including bacon), raw fish, raw eggs, milk or bones. Each of these has its own ill effects on cats.
2. Realize that you should not feed your cat dog food. Cats require five times more protein than dogs do, so dog food will not meet cats' nutritional needs. Avoid feeding your cat a vegetarian diet for the same reason.
3. Limit the use of tuna because of the risks associated with the mercury levels in it.
4. Feed liver in moderation and not at all if you're giving your cat vitamin A supplements. Overdoses of vitamin A can be toxic.
5. Know that many cat food recipes are available on the Internet and in books.
6. Look for recipes that are high in protein content.
7. Include some small amounts of vegetables in your cat's food. An example of a healthful cat food recipe is cooking together a mixture of 1 lb. ground turkey, 2 tbsp. tomato paste, 1/2 tsp. garlic powder and 2 tsp. brewer's yeast.
8. Opt for another tasty treat that calls for the cooking together of 4 oz. meat, two whole eggs, 1 tbsp. carrot, 1 tbsp. cottage cheese and 1 tbsp. sunflower oil. Recognize that you should cook meat before feeding it to your cat.
9. Add flavorings such as garlic salt and kelp powder to the food you cook for your cat. Small amounts of dairy products are acceptable, but cats should not drink a lot of milk. Use lactose-free milk instead.
10. Combine some dry, commercial cat food with meat, eggs, lactose-free milk and flavorings to get your cat used to eating homemade cat food.
Tips:
As you try different recipes, you'll find that your cat appreciates some more than others.
Consult your vet about giving your cat vitamin and mineral supplements.
Keep cooked cat food in the refrigerator for no more than three days.

Catfood recipes and other phrases until you find a page that suits you.
When I was a kid we never bought cat or dog food because we could not afford it. I had healthy pets just giving them good food that are leftover from meals. Just make sure they have plenty of cooked fish or meat as they need mostly protein. My outdoor cats even enjoyed the occasional mouse or bird or even grasshopper.

Your link is very nice, it will help me in future.

One will go soon to my elder sister's home, she is insisting me to give her one. Then I will have only one. These are my dearest pets.
Ursula
it is very difficult for me to start pet foods here, very few peoples have pets, in big cities a lot people have pets, may be there cane food available for pets.
Veterinaries in Pakistan is very good, is it necessary for the protection of my son? Which types of injections are necessary?
Now I am affraid of rabies......
I'd definitely get them rabies vaccines if possible, Kaleem, along with feline leukemia vaccines.
Medicine to keep worms away would be a good idea if it is available.Healthier for the kitties and for your son too....he's at the age where his hands are in his mouth alot.
If this is not available, I'll see if I can get you some. My cousin is a vet...maybe he has some suggestions.
Hi, Gumlla - Your babies have done wonderfully. Your vet. may carry petfood - they do here. the homemade all sounds great, but be sure they also get something crunchy to help keep their teeth and gums healthy.
I am so glad to see that your sister and brother are also loving the babies. You've done a very good thing here!
I've never heard of using anti-lice shampoo - and generally speaking, I don't think most people bathe their cats - cats do a good job of that themselves. I will use "flea powder" if I think there is a problem, and a flea collar works well too. In fact, the vets here now have pills that get rid of fleas.
I never bathe my cats, never have - unless they got into something really really dirty. I think that Gumlla was wise to bathe these little fellas though, especially in the beginning when its very likely that they did have lice, and because they hadn't been taught how to clean themselves, since momma abandoned them. Getting a kitty wet is the best way to teach them how to clean themselves. ("Oh dear, I'm wet, now I'll have to lick it off!!")
gumlla, I'm not sure it is right to bath such small kitten. Is the shampoo you are using formulated for kitten or for people? Not even the best people-shampoo is good for kitties - their skin is different than ours.
It is important you consult a Vet. Maybe feline leukemia has not reached your part of the world and you can save the babies from this very painful vaccine. However there are other vaccines (if I'm right it's a cocktail of 3 different things they prevent, given with some time distance in two shots), that are necessary for your kitten as well as for your son's health.
All kitties have worms and must get medicine to eliminate them. However, the dose will be determined by the Vet according to their age, weight and condition. Once they kitty has reached his/her adult size and maintains weight, you can apply the drops yourself (they even like them, seems they taste like fish).
Melody, you have agreat heart, but I think these vaccines must be kept refrigerated and it's a looooong, long way to Pakistan.
Thats what I was thinking, too, ceedub.
Wow this is a loooonnnnggg thread! What a touching experience. You're truly a special person for doing this.
I would love to have the kitty you posted its picture on Oct. 26, 2004 at 12:54. It is so cute. I have never seen brown kitties either.
Great work!
Gumlla, did you have a chance to take the kitties to a Vet?
Yes I checked from vet. hospital, rabies vaccines are available but feline leukemia vaccines are not available. There I saw a lot of people came with their pets, I was really astonished that people have pets here also, beautiful dogs , parrots , chickens and little birds.
After starting new foods , health is improved and weigh of kitties increase rapidly.
