Yeah, nathalyn, I can still almost taste those Key Lime Pies. I think that Darius has more friends than Carter had little liver pills, and that has got to be a heartwarming thought even in this current delima she is faced with now.

Actually I really DO plan a visit to FL when it gets cool, say after mid-November and before April, and you will be on my list to visit.

Where's Lynn Haven, roughly? I know where Stacey is, and I will also be visiting an aunt (now 91) in High Springs, above Gainesville.

Oh a very, very, very serious note - - - - NEWSFLASH...............Nathalyn is reported as saying that Darius is THE best cook that she has ever had the honor to know. Her pork and leeks dish is absolutely to die for. And after eating her key lime pie, all others will pale in comparison.
And if you have not tried her briscotti - - then you simply have not lived life to the fullest.

Darius, Weeds has a beautiful home and a beautiful Mom and a beautiful yard(choose your order) You guys would have a blast I know, and yes the seafood there is yummy.
Im praying you find a home soon but also would like to see you travel some more and have some fun for a bit.
Also praying that when/if you get up this way I get to taste a piece of that pie at least. LOL

Thanks Draven! When she visited me we only had a short time together and it seemed like 5 minutes! We talked as fast as we could, nonstop. It was FUN.

D'cat, I met Weeds and her mother at the GARU last fall when we sat around the picnic benches under the tarp on Friday night for a cookout; both are lovely people and I am pleased at the invitation.

LOL, yup, but I do have some coming believe it or not, along with a couple of pond plants. I definatly need to post pics of what survived the trip home(mostly my fault) so you can ID them for me, I forgot most of them but get lots of OOOs and AAhs over them when I show people. Your the best!!
I definatly could have spent several hours at weeds house talking, it was way too short but the only stolen moments I could get(plus left my cel phone in the car to slow me down,LOL)

Misty won't be making the KYRU, much to all of our disappointment. I still hope that somehow she will manage to get away and attend for at least a few hours.

Darius, I have farmers' market on Saturdays and it was so hard to round up people to take over for me last year. It was a nice time away, but I really don't think we will be able to make it. I can't drive for long distances, so won't be going on my own.

Actually I have considered it, just don't have the wherewithall to buy/finance one. There are BUNCHES of them in Asheville, mostly in the Montford area.

I grew up in the Montford area. It's amazing to see so many of the houses restored to looking like the way I remember them. I thought most of them were gone forever! My father's grocery store was on Pearson Drive, so that really was my part of town. Well, I'm off on a walk down memory lane. LOL

Have just been notified that my mother has been admitted to Acute Care. They think she may have had another stroke and tests are underway. She's cognizant but has lost speech.

Moreover, they have lost her DNR, saying they never had it... and I know I left it with them when I admitted her to full-time nursing care.

Oh, Darius, I'm sorry to hear this about your mom! I pray for your mamma, your peace of mind, and that her DNR turns up.
