This is one of mine from the mix I got in the last co-op. The color is very vivid.

This is another one from the same mix. The contrast of the two colors make them stand out.

Very pretty Busybee!

Laurrie, where did you get your seeds from of the blue Mt. Fuji? I got some blue ones like that from Ebay but I did not grow them this year - now I wish I had....Oh well, there's always next year tho!...lol.

Kentwood, LA(Zone 8b)

Thanks :)

Stockton, CA(Zone 9a)

I have the same colors blooming as Busybee & Laurrie, and they all came from a pack from Park seed called Mt Fuji mixed. But that was a year or so ago that I bought them because I had them left over from last years planting. Don't know if they still sell them or not.

What would be causing my cypress vine leaves to become yellow? This just started.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

I am in Calif. Haven't had time to come since Feb so it has changed quite a bit. Tomorrow morning I will snap some pics of the morning glories here. They have had NO care but there are still some pretty ones. Put the seeds out in January
and a lot died because my daughter forgot to water them. But now she is getting excited about them and working to remember the water.

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

busybee those are both beautiful. I will have to add those to the want list that is growing by leaps and bounds!

twinlakeschef hope you are having a good time in california

There were more, this is about the best left. They were marching up the vine, very scary!

Monterey, your vine is a cardinal climber. It doesn't look too bad. How often are you watering? Hard to tell but the soil looks dry - hey, my eyesight is really poor right now...lol. Might want to rule out spidermites so look at the underside of the leaves....

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

They are in a container . I was thinking that I might be watering too much. They only get about 3 hours of sun, but it has been hot. There were about 10 leaves all yellow. This is a far shot before, and during the day.

It could just be the heat if your watering habits are good...just keep an eye on them.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

My Shirayuki finally had a bloom on it this morning. The vine is still only about 3 in. tall and refuses to grow, but the flower was beautiful. It looked like pure white satin or silk. I wish I had a digital camera, but no such luck, and I'm out of film for my regular camera. Sure hope it grows and puts on seeds, because it is a beauty.

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

I wish yours would grow for you grannie! I bet the bloom is beautiful....

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Monterey,
I have that Cardinal Climber in Iowa growing at the base of a brugmansia in a 20 gallon pot. Doesn't look as mature a plant as yours but has bloomed.

It has a leaf go yellow near the bottom occasionally but looks healthy otherwise as does yours. They get the same constant dilute fertilizer and lots of water that the brug gets.]

Are you dead-heading? Perhaps it thinks it is done and wanting to put all its energy into seeds. Is it still blooming for you?

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

I agree with Arlene...your plants look healthy. Yes, leaves will occasionally turn yellow and fall - this is just nature at work. Who knows why if the plants are healthy, many factors affect leaves. It becomes an issue when they ALL start doing it.....

**edited to add: If you want to see yellow leaves on a MG vine and all falling off I got a doozie of a picture for you!!!....lol.

What used to be a blank slate; these seeds were planted in Jan or Feb at the California house.

Looks great Arlene!

You liked that side view, huh?
This is not a split leaf. There is a whole flower with an extra weird piece out the side. Never seen it before.

Save me some seeds of that one Arlene! Yeah, I was thinking that the first side view had wings and flew away....lol.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Collected a lot of seed tonight but not any of these; it was a vine that quit blooming and went to seed. I have pics back in Iowa of it when it was blooming so have to wait til I get home. Am teaching my daughter to collect seed when I am not here.

However, they are so close together there will be no guarantee what they will turn out to be.

So hard to get seed in Iowa and here they are already re-seeding. LOL
