Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Beautiful picture, Kell. The color is amazing.

Brundidge, AL(Zone 8b)

Thanks for keeping us updated Kell .you and susie have done a fabulous job on this Hybrid for sure,I can't wait to see what you post next. I am loving it just loving it.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

All day she has been so dark. Almost red. Her tendrils do look red. I can see her from across the yard. Her best color is her 4th and 5th day so far.

Oh Kell....she is just beautiful! I'm in love, in love I tell you!!! LOL 4th & 5th day? Wow! Keep up the great work! And send us more pics! (LOL...... my computer goes on overload everytime I click this thread)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

It will be good to see how she does in other climates. If heat and humidity make them color up more....OMG, can you imagine????

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

ahhhhhhhhhhh my daily fix

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

That is so gorgeous it looks unreal. That would make a great poster or print.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Congratulations on this beautiful flower, Kel. I just lurk and look at everyone's blooms on this thread...dreaming!...

P.S. Could you start a new thread with the next new pix? This is loading slow on DSL so I'm guessing the dial up folks are having quite a wait to see the last pix. Thanks!

Social Circle, GA(Zone 8a)

Oh my. My my my my my. So nice.

Brundidge, AL(Zone 8b)

Kell, glad to see your brugs is still looking good!!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

hmmm pops right up on my DSL

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

Only takes a few seconds on my dial-up too....may have more to do with traffic on your individual internet server.

Raleigh, NC(Zone 7b)

I have 3Mbps cable so this thread opens quickly for me too... let's see if we can break Dave's website if the view counter gets above 9999 :-P

Kell, do you have a name for this one yet? Have you thought of having a naming contest where people suggest names and then vote on a winner? Of course you and Susie have veto power!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

There are a few great names on this thread that people have suggested. We actually stopped talking about it. I think we are waiting to see how it flowers for Susie in her climate. If real red we may call her Lady in Red as Lilypon suggested! I love singing sings! LOL.

It is so dark right now I am tempted to just start calling her that. She is as close to red as I have seen, not orangy at all right now. If you have any ideas for a name feel free to share.

I do not want to out stay my welcome as far as keep posting more pics. I would hate you all to get sick of it and of me!

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

No way we could get sick of seeing this stunning flower.

My naming suggestion is "Ruby Slippers" ala Wizard of Oz.

I think about the only thing that could top this one would be this same color in a double.

Lani

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Yes, Kell and Susie, bring out that double with this color. LOL

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I can't wait to see how it does in TX. I know my pinks are darker here than I've ever seen them before.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

The most recent photo above is just stunning. I printed out a 8 x 10 and stuck it on my wall.

Forgot to say 'Ruby Baby' would be a good name. Are you old enough to remember that song (or was it an East Coast song) from the 50s.

Linda, I am a 50s baby!

I got a girl and Ruby is her name
She don't love me but I love her just the same
Ruby Baby how I want you
Like a ghost I'm gonna haunt you
Ruby Baby when will you be mine

Each time I see you baby my heart cries
I'm gonna steal you away from all those guys
>From the sunny day I met you
Made a bet that I would get you
Ruby Baby when will you be mine

I got a girl and Ruby is her name
I'd give the world just to set her heart aflame
Got some lovin' money too
Gonna give it all to you
Ruby Baby when will you be mine

We need more babies out of this pod for all these great names!

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

There are so many lines from that song that suit this Brug but the fact it will be one of the top breeders guarantees many will be looking for a little romance. ;)

I know the song was one of your choices as well Kell...there will be many after it now but she was the the first to "take our breath away"!

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Well,if Ruby Slippers is gonna be the name, there better be a piece growing in Kansas!!LOL!!
How bout Ruby in the Sky??

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Heart's Afire

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

Root, I don't think she liked 'Ruby Slippers'....sounds like it will be something along the lines of 'Ruby Baby'

edited for 'fat' finger typoes.......................

Oooohhh, Kell - I knew you wouldn't let me down. How do you remember all of the words to all of those songs.

"Ruby, Baby - when WILL you be mine???"

Linda

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

I vote for "Ruby Baby"

The Heart of Texas, TX(Zone 8b)

Kell,
I am so happy for you & Susie. She is a beauty!
Calla is right, this good ole Texas heat & humidity would do her proud! Please let us know when she gets a name.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Linda, you are so funny! I just now got in from pollinating 2 more that are about to pop. I used hot, hot pink, brand new pollen that just mysteriously showed up in my mailbox this afternoon! I am telling you, if she isn't such a hot brug her offspring sure are going to be! LOL

Rikerbear, au contraire, I just loved Ruby Slippers! So clever. Hearts Afire is great also. This is going to be so hard to pick.

I feel this is a community brug by the way everyone has embraced this brug and fallen in love with it. So maybe we should have a contest and the name with the most votes wins! What do you all think? Susie is easy, I bet she will say OK!

Edited to say: LOL, I just was treading posts for names and saw your post Tom. Can't say if I had read it earlier or not, and it stuck! You know my mind left along time ago!

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

No doubt CC is right, you have some real beauties Kell!

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

You know, I have never grown a brug in my life (steps are being taken to remedy that), but I've been following this thread for a while, and last night I had a DREAM about this brug!

Help!

Seattle, WA(Zone 8b)

Oh Lunavox...tisk tisk....your a gonner. LOL

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

LOL, Quick call the nursery, Lunavox has come down with brug fever! I think it's easily transmitted, very hard to cure, the symptons get worse over time. heh heh

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Hey Kell, When it is in the 60's there, we are in the 80's and 90's over the hill. You can always bring her over here.

Patricia

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)
