Plumie in Saskatchewan

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Bad News from down here.........All my Rainbows rotted. :^(((((

I just took the last one out the other day. It had sat there doing nothing for so long. I had actually made myself believe there was some green growing on the top. I had been squeezing the cutting and had detected no mush, until the other day.

Now the other 6 I have growing have gone dormant. The leaves all fell off. But that's to be expected. Even all the grown up trees down here have lost their leaves until early spring.

Yall are doing a great job up there is snow man land.

Hey Molly good to *see* you again!! :D

Now that I hear you've had bad luck (sorry to hear it) maybe the one who is living in Snow Man Land should be eyeing a pink instead!!

My Plumeria has been asleep for 2 months now.....will have to put it on a heating pad in a month or so and wake it up. Can't let BuriedTreasures cold loving zone 3 peony bloom before my Plumeria or Adeniums! ;)

Congrats on your new plants Linda. I hope you have good luck with them.

I have one that I got as a cutting about a year and a half ago. It's still only a foot tall and has never bloomed but I too have high hopes. When I used to belong to the Central Vancouver Island Orchid Society there was a member who had several different coloured Plumerias. Every so often he would bring some rooted cuttings to the meetings and sell them for $15. I don't think he usually had too many takers. I often wish I had taken advantage of the opportunity but I lived in an apartment at the time...sigh.

This Frangi Pani thing is wild, LilyPon. This is a seriously devoted group! In 7b this will still have to be indoorsat least half the year here, but when I can bareath in january, I may be getting some.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I guess we're all just pushing the limits of our zones.
Lilypon, the next time I go past that nursery, which will be within the next month, do you want me to get it then, and risk having a newbie like me taking care of it, or wait until later in the season, and maybe not get a rainbow plumie. Let me know what you'd like.

Thanks Peter,

Merry Christmas everyone.

Peter please post pictures as soon as you get them! In your location this insanity could be really dangerous.....remember they grow into trees!! ;)

Linda I think I'll pass on the Rainbow one (I'd love it but spending 9-10 months indoors here would prolly be really pushing it and unfortunately it looks like it's a touchy one)....if you see a pink one with a good Y happening please let me know and I'll get the money off to you.

Thank you!!

Merry Christmas and may the joys of the season be with everyone!
Pam
