As little as possible Lilypon, Heheh. Yes it will be interesting to see how they do here. My bamboo is going great guns and palms seem to do well here also. I've taken a couple of pics of my plumies but I have a very cheap digital that doesn't take the best pics but I will show you what I have.
Plumie in Saskatchewan
As I said I've only had them for about a week and they are still rooting. it looks like the yellow is getting ready to bloom soon and the pink has new leave coming on. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
Fingers and toes are crossed for you Jan!! ;)

They are looking great!! :D I'm so happy to see mine isn't too too far behind those in warmer climes! (I know I will lose the race) It's great to see so many of us are newbies to this plant, please post pics when they bloom!!
I just want to see one bloom!!!
This was good reading over coffee today, sounds like I went to bed to early last night!,LOL!
I want to see many rootdoc!! ;)
Love the urn you planted yours in Root.
What a nice healthy looking plant.....looks happy :-)
Thanks Riker, should have seen me getting it in there,it had a rootball three times the opening,I need to get it painted,it has a howling wolf on it.
I'm impressed!!!:D And it has Y'd and Y'd again! :D
What happened to that plummie Lilypon???????? Inquiring minds want to know.
Still alive...some of the buds have turned black but many are showing signs of growth. Our unheard of cool temps this summer are really slowing down the growth. :( Will take a picture tomorrow.
Nice plumie! That is a great-looking inflo!
Lilypon, you are doing well with your plumie. I've got to get off of my butt and order a plumeria or 2. I've been living vicariously through you with yours.
Linda
Thanks Clare and Linda!! I'm crossin' my fingers that we will have some summer and that my plumie will be happy enough to bloom!
Oh Lilypon it's looking great! Mine have sorta hit a stopping point it seems. No new growth in over a week......temps have stayed steady, so am not sure what's going on.
By the looks of your flower inflo yours should be blooming by August.
I am SO jealous
LOL RikerBear ;) Are your temps cooler right now?
Linda where will you be ordering yours from? I would love to go into an order to get one of the Rainbows!!
edited to say if a number of us Canadians went together, if there is interest, we wouldn't be looking at horrendous phyto and shipping charges that a person would have to bear on an individual order.

Today they are back in the 70's F (20's C)....yesterday we dropped down into the chilly 60's (15.5C...teens)
Think I may need to move them into a bit more direct sun.
Those are mainly the temps we've been having for the past month and a 1/2....I'm sure my inflo wanted to crawl back inside the stem for warmth!! This is the weirdest summer we have ever had...my Dad is almost 80 and he can't think of one that even comes somewhat close! :S We are normally hot and dry...so far we've had 14 inches of rain compared to the 2-3 that is our normal average over the same time period.
I won't even mention our night temps since BuriedTreasures would giggle himself sick!! :b
BT could use a goog giggle. His whole world is coming crashing down.
uh oh....What's happening Chris???
Our night temps have been close to freezing and freezing, a couple of times, up to two weeks ago.

Oh no, whats going on BT?
riker, did you repot them this year? Mine kind of stalled out about 3 weeks ago, putting on either no growth or deformed growth. So I took them out of their pots and pulled off most of the soil and repotted them in the same size- and they're doing great right now. Maybe that would help yours? Mine do get full sun from about 10 am to 5 pm and they're loving it too.
Mine is very close to blooming! I'll get an updated picture, the buds have started changing colors and separating from the main inflo stem.
Here's a pic from about 2 weeks ago. I thought I put it up on this thread but cant find it now...
Chris...I'm really worried, what happened?

I don't want to but in on the enquiries of Chris. (Hang in there)
Lilypon, I"m not sure where to order from, I'll go in on something with you though. You're my local expert. I'd probably only get 2, maybe 3 ;). Then I'd tell my partner WHEN they arrive, not before.
Linda
LOL...thank you Linda!! I've noticed companies have charges of anywhere from $25.00 to $75.00 U.S. for Phyto and airfare on top of that so it definitely pays to shop around!! The more the merrier for those kind of prices!
art_in_garden maybe you and I will have blooms at the same time...it looks like ours are now on the home stretch!
Calling BT, where the heck is my pardner in crime?
Ok...my plumie is hiding out in a wheat field now! :b
I'm here, weeds.
Sorry for any concern caused to others. I shouldn't have left such an open door on that. Just facing some very unexpected challenges. Thanks for the thoughts and concern, though. It means, and helps a lot.
I really need to find out where I packed my camera though. I've acquired some incredible Adeniums and Euphorbia lacteas.
Looking forward to seeing your pictures! :)
Hey BT, I have a plummie sniffing dog in case we need to find that plant! You know lilypon is one sneaky canadian and I hear there are lots of wide open spaces to hide things up there.
Post pics, don't know what one of those is, challenged here.
With the rain we've had those crops will be six feet tall in no time ... ya'll have an ocean of another kind to be searching in! ;)
